Abstract

The emergence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) requires prospective early childhood education teachers to be able to use it creatively in producing learning products. This study aims to examine the effect of Project Based Learning (PjBL) assisted by Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) on the creativity of Early Childhood Education (PG-PAUD) students in the Artificial Intelligence course. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest design, involving 21 students from the 2023 cohort selected through total sampling. Students' creativity data were collected through pretest and posttest, then analyzed using Shapiro-Wilk, Paired Sample t-test, and N-Gain. The results showed an increase in the mean creativity score from 264.71 to 340.52 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. The N-Gain analysis showed a mean increase of 56.12%, categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that PjBL assisted by GenAI is effective in enhancing the creativity of prospective early childhood education teachers.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of early reading skills among Group A children at TK Laboratorium School UN PGRI Kediri, which was caused by the use of learning media that were less engaging and monotonous. The study aimed to determine whether the use of Putaria Media could improve the early reading skills of Group A children at TK Laboratorium School UN PGRI Kediri. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in three cycles involving 12 children from Group A2 as the research subjects. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation and documentation using observation sheets for teacher activities and children's early reading development. The data were analyzed descriptively based on the percentage of learning mastery achieved in each cycle. The results showed that the use of Putaria Media gradually improved children's early reading skills in every cycle. Putaria Media created a more active, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment, thereby increasing children's interest, motivation, and participation in reading activities. Therefore, Putaria Media proved to be an effective alternative learning medium for improving early reading skills in early childhood.
