Abstract

Gorontalo Province is one of the regions that have the biggest potential to produce skipjack fish (Katsuwonus pelamis) in Indonesia. The community processes the catch into processed which has economic value, both traditional and modern. One of them is smoked fish which gives a distinctive taste and can extend its shelf life and maintain nutrient levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of wealth starfruit leaf extract on Proximate Cakalang fish smoke. This research is an experimental study with the treatment of using star fruit leaf extract (EDBW) and without star fruit leaf extract (TEDBW) with 3 replications. The parameters tested were proximate (ash, fiber, and BETN). The results of the analysis were calculated using Anova Two-Factor with Replication. The results showed that the ash of skipjack smoked fish with EDBW treatment was 1.55% and without EDBW treatment was 1.33%, BETN with EDBW treatment was 0.73% and without EDBW treatment was 1.37%, fiber content with EDBW treatment was 0.08% and without treatment, EDBW is 0.23%. The best result is this belimbing leaf extract capable of lowering BETN by 0.64%. It can be concluded that the starfruit leaf extract significantly affects BETN and fiber but does not affect the ash content.

Abstract

Some food ingredients are needed by living things because they contain food substances needed in growth. This substance is commonly called the nutrient content of the food. This substance is very important, especially in metabolic processes such as breaking protein into amino acids needed for the growth of babies, children, and also helps maintain the function of carbohydrates as an energy source. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of extracts on nutrient levels of skipjack (Katsu wonu spelamis) fufu (smoke). This study used a completely randomized design, with two treatments (the use of preservatives and without preservatives) with 3 replications. Based on the results of the study it was found that the extract of the welch starfruit leaves did not significantly affect the protein and fat content but significantly affected the water content.

Abstract

The results of processed julung - julung fish (Hemiramphus sp) immediately in Gorontalo are called sagela. Formaldehyde, better known as formaldehyde, is one of the additives that can be consumed but will be used by people as preservatives for food. The purpose of this study was to determine the formaldehyde content and pH of julung - julung fish as soon as possible in 6 traditional markets in Gorontalo City. This research uses purposive sampling method. Based on the results of research that has been done with qualitative tests using formaldehyde test kits, it is found that formaldehyde is not displayed on 18 samples of julung-julung fish taken from the daily and weekly markets sold in Gorontalo City. The pH value of julung - julung fish which is marketed in Gorontalo City is still included in the criteria agreed below. 7. Place julung - julung fish as soon as possible to be marketed in Gorontalo City which is suitable for consumption and is sold with good quality.

Abstract

Kegiatan budidaya ikan yang dipahami oleh orang awam merupakan kegiatan yang memerlukan tempat yang luas, air yang banyak dan beberapa pendukung budidaya lainnya.  Kemudahan dalam melakukan kegiatan budidaya tersebut di dapatkan di Danau Limboto yang mewakili tempat yang luas dan air yang banyak. Namun kondisi Danau Limboto saat ini yang mengalami degradasi serta pendangkalan sehingga tidak memenuhi syarat standar untuk budidaya ikan. Sehingga harus dilakukan perubahan terhadap sistem budidaya ikan. Saat ini ada beberapa inovasi yang telah dikenal di dalam budidaya perikanan, diantaranya budidaya ikan sistem resirkulasi yang dapat dilakukan di lahan sempit dan budidaya ikan dengan sistem kolam terpal bertingkat. Perlakuan kolam terpal bertingkat dan tersirkulasi dalam satu kali pemanenan yaitu sebesar Rp.2.074.895. Keuntungan yang didapatkan membuka pengetahuan masyarakat untuk menggunakan budidaya alternatif menggunakan kolam terpal bertingkat selain kolam konvensional. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan judul aplikasi kolam terpal bertingkat untuk budidaya ikan Nila di Desa Tunggulo telah berjalan dengan baik dan memberikan keuntungan kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the rate of hatching of turtle eggs with different substrates in North Gorontalo Regency. The research method is an experiment with a Complete Randomized Design (CRD), which is 3 treatments and 3 repetitions obtained from direct observations in the field will be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The treatment consists of Treatment A (Control ie sand from natural nests), Treatment B (coarse sand with a diameter of 0.50-1.00 mm) and Treatment C (fine sand with a diameter of 0.10-0.21 mm. Based on the results of the research on turtle egg hatching with different substrates in the District of Monano, North Gorontalo Regency, it was shown that the average hatching of turtle eggs was the highest at treatment B which was 78%, then treatment A which was 50% and the lowest was in treatment C namely 39%.

Abstract

Sicyopterus pugnans, commonly known as Penja fish, is a freshwater endemic species with a savory taste and distinctive aroma, making it a popular food commodity in West Sulawesi, Indonesia. This fish is commonly consumed either fresh or dried. This study aimed to determine and compare the nutritional composition of Penja fish in fresh and dried forms. The study employed an experimental method using proximate analysis, which included measurements of protein, fat, ash, and moisture content. The samples consisted of fresh Sicyopterus pugnans and traditionally processed dried fish. The results showed that fresh Penja fish contained 17.98% protein, 3.62% fat, 1.55% ash, and 71.87% moisture. In contrast, dried Penja fish exhibited increased nutrient concentrations with 63.80% protein, 12.70% fat, 7.88% ash, and reduced moisture content of 12.54%. The study concludes that Penja fish is highly nutritious, particularly in protein content, and has significant potential to be developed as a high-nutrient local food source.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dan menganalisis hambatan dalam pelestarian ekosistem mangrove berbasis perikanan berkelanjutan di Desa Bangga, Kecamatan Paguyaman Pantai, Kabupaten Boalemo. Ekosistem mangrove di wilayah ini memiliki peran penting sebagai habitat ikan, pelindung pesisir, serta sumber daya ekonomi lokal. Namun, aktivitas manusia seperti penebangan liar dan peternakan tak terkendali menyebabkan degradasi lingkungan yang signifikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada 33 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pengetahuan masyarakat tentang mangrove tergolong tinggi (skor rata-rata 2,98), tingkat partisipasi masih tergolong sedang (skor rata-rata 2,17), dengan partisipasi yang lebih tinggi dalam penyebaran informasi dan kesadaran lingkungan, namun rendah dalam keterlibatan diskusi dan kontribusi finansial. Hambatan utama antara lain infrastruktur pendukung yang tidak memadai, keterbatasan ekonomi, dan kurangnya program penyuluhan yang intensif. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan kolaborasi antara pemerintah, masyarakat, dan sektor swasta melalui program pendidikan, rehabilitasi mangrove, serta insentif berbasis ekonomi seperti ekowisata berkelanjutan. Keterlibatan aktif masyarakat dalam semua tahap pengelolaan mangrove sangat penting untuk menjaga keseimbangan ekologi dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan pesisir.Kata Kunci: partisipasi masyarakat, mangrove, pelestarian lingkungan, perikanan berkelanjutan, Desa Bangga.

Abstract

Asam salisilat merupakan senyawa yang biasanya ditambahkan dalam krim anti acne karena efeknya sebagai keratolitik dan mempercepat regenerasi sel. Kadar maksimum asam salisilat berdasarkan peraturan BPOM No 23. Tahun 2019 yaitu < 2%. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kandungan asam salisilat dan mengetahui kadar asam salisilat dalam krim anti acne yang beredar di Kabupaten Pekalongan. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 10 produk krim anti acne yang beredar di Kabupaten Pekalongan. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif menggunakan uji warna dengan penambahan FeCl3 dan kromatografi lapis tipis dengan fase gerak berupa toluene dan asam asetat glasial (4:1) serta secara kuantitatif menggunakan metode High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) dengan fase gerak berupa metanol dan aquabides (3:2). Hasil yang diperoleh dari 10 sampel yang digunakan 8 sampel mengandung asam salisilat dan kadar asam salisilat pada sampel 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 berturut-turut sebesar 0,97%, 2,75%, 2,05%, 1,17%, 1,18%, 0,87%, 1,79% dan 1,09%. Berdasarkan 8 sampel yang mengandung asam salisilat sampel 3 dan 4 kadarasam salisilatnya lebih dari 2 %, sampel 3 sebesar 2,75% dan sampel 4 sebesar 2,05%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur komunitas fitoplankton dan parameter kualitas udara di perairan Desa Bangga, Kabupaten Boalemo. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling pada tiga stasiun pengamatan dengan kondisi lingkungan yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis fitoplankton yang dominan meliputi Fragilaria sp..Rhizosolenia sp., Bacteriastrum sp., dan Nitzschia sp. Kelimpahan tertinggi terdapat pada Fragilaria sp., terutama di daerah perairan terbuka (stasiun 2) dengan nilai 0,8 ind/mL, sedangkan pemahaman terendah tercatat pada Bacteriastrum sp. di stasiun 3 (0,05 ind/mL). Indeks keanekaragaman tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun 2 (1,03), yang menunjukkan komunitas fitoplankton sedang, sedangkan indeks dominansi (D) tertinggi tercatat pada stasiun 1 (0,44), yang menunjukkan adanya spesies yang mendominasi daerah tersebut. Analisis kualitas udara menunjukkan bahwa parameter fisika-kimia seperti suhu (29-30°C), pH (7-8,75), oksigen terlarut (4,3-6,6 mg/L), salinitas (30,4-34 ppt), dan arus (46,87-53,49 cm/s) masih berada dalam kisaran yang mendukung kehidupan fitoplankton. Hasil studi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengelolaan lingkungan perairan Desa Bangga yang berkelanjutan dan mendukung konservasi ekosistem perairan di wilayah tersebut.
