Abstract

Problems that occur with the HRSG will be calculated and performed by performance analysis of the equipment. With various methods and formulas that will be used. The aim of the research is to calculate HRSG efficiency before and after cleaning in power generation systems using Matlab software, determine the effect of HRSG efficiency before and after cleaning and understand how to optimize HRSG performance. HRSG efficiency calculations in this research were carried out by comparing the energy flow rate used to evaporate water, both in low pressure steam and high pressure steam and the energy flow rate contained in the exhaust gas from the gas turbine power plant system which is useful in HRSG. HRSG performance calculations based on changes in load for LNG hub operational business processes and operational efficiency in power usage, such as calculating mass balance, calculating energy balance, calculating HRSG performance efficiency in LNG hub operational conditions, calculating HRSG performance efficiency in actual conditions after the event LNG hub process and efficiency of power use in operations, comparison between HRSG performance efficiency in actual conditions and design data efficiency at commissioning. So the results obtained were an efficiency of 61.37% and there was a decrease in performance after being compared with the commissioning design data of 38.32%.

Abstract

The impact of the tempe industrial wastewater which has an organic content value if discharged directly into water bodies will endanger the environment. This is due to the large number of pollutant substances present in wastewater, which will cause a decrease in dissolved oxygen levels in wastewater. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the dose and timing of tamarind seed bio coagulant on the reduction of chemical oxygen demand (COD), total dissolved solid (TDS), conductivity, turbidity, and pH in tempe industrial wastewater. This research was started by reducing the size of tamarind seeds (brown) so that they became powder, after which they were sieved using an 80 mesh sieve and heated in an oven at 105 ⁰C for 2 hours to reduce the water content. The next process is coagulation and aeration by varying the mass of coagulant 5; 15; 25; 35; and 45 g and time variation of 15; 30; 45; 60; and 75 minutes. Based on the research results, it was found that the water content of tamarind seed powder was 8%, the optimum time and dose were at 75 minutes and 45 g with the percentage of removal of COD, turbidity, TDS, conductivity, and pH each of 97.5%; 61.48%; 19.89%; 16.39%; 3.8. The results of the FTIR characterization of the initial sample obtained a vibrational peak of 3172.90 cm⁻ˡ for the carboxylic acid compound identifying the O-H functional group. And experienced a new vibrational peak after the coagulation and aeration process, namely the alcohol compound identified the vibrational O-H functional group of 3876.92 cm⁻ˡ. From these results, it can be concluded that the tamarind seed bio coagulant can reduce the contaminants in the tempe industrial wastewater.

Abstract

The utilization of durian fruit that is consumed is the flesh part with a percentage of only 20-35%. Generally, seeds become waste that is only a small part utilized. Every 100 g of durian seeds contain 51.1 g of water, 46.2 g of carbohydrates, 2.5 g of protein and 0.2 g of fat. This carbohydrate content is higher than cassava 34.7% or sweet potatoes 27.9%. This high carbohydrate content allows durian seeds to be used as a substitute for glucose syrup. Therefore, research must be conducted by utilizing durian seed waste to make glucose syrup. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of time and temperature on reducing sugar levels. The method for this study used the acid hydrolysis method and the search for reducing sugar levels used the lufft-schoorl method. This study used time variations of 60, 90, 120, 150, 180 minutes and temperature variations of 90, 95, 100, 105, 110°C in the acid hydrolysis method which used 3% HCl solvent. From the results of the study, it was found that hydrolysis time and hydrolysis temperature greatly influenced reducing sugar. The higher the time and temperature, the higher the reducing sugar content obtained. The highest reducing sugar content was obtained at 19.55% and the lowest water content was 16.30% which was obtained at a temperature of 110oC and a time of 180 minutes.

Abstract

The use of of cellulose from wood is growing every year in Indonesia. Continuous environmental harm results from this. In this study, paper was made using bacterial cellulose activator, tapioca flour, and coconut water as basic materials to make it more environmentally friendly. In this study, the impact of bacterial cellulose mass and tapioca flour mass on the final paper was examined. The amounts of 100, 125, 150, 175, and 200 g of bacterial cellulose and 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 g of tapioca flour were the variables employed in this study. Additionally, the finished paper is tested for gramage, tensile strength, water content, functional group (FTIR), and a SEM test. According to the grammage test results, combinations of 100 g of bacterial cellulose and 25 g of tapioca flour had a higher grammage value than the others, 75 g/m2. The mass variation of 100 g bacterial cellulose with a mass of 25 g tapioca flour had the highest value in the tensile strength test, with a value of 0.808803 Mpa. In contrast, the mass variation of 100 g bacterial cellulose with a mass of 25 g tapioca flour had the greatest value in the water content test with a value of 5.91%.

Abstract

The use of petroleum as fuel is currently very limited and cannot be renewed on a relevant human scale. The increasing demand for petroleum, including diesel, has resulted in increased dependence on resources. The use of diesel as fuel has a negative impact on the environment. To reduce the negative impacts caused, other fuel derivative products can be developed, namely biodiesel. One alternative to increase fuel efficiency and reduce pollution is to reformulate fuel with additives, namely citronella oil, which functions to enrich the oxygen content in the fuel. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the addition of citronella oil volume and temperature on the characteristics of B30 biodiesel. This study was conducted using an experimental design method by varying the volume of citronella oil 0; 2; 4; 6; 8; 10 mL and temperatures of 30°C, 35°C, 40°C, 45°C, 50°C. The results showed that the addition of citronella oil with temperature variations was able to improve the characteristics of B30 biodiesel. The best variation is the addition of 4 mL of citronella oil at a temperature of 40 °C resulting in the highest viscosity value of 4.318 cSt, density of 836.41 kg/m3, cetane number of 67.9 and flash point value of 79°C. In this study, the data produced is in accordance with SNI in terms of viscosity, density, cetane number, and flash point.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dilakukan pada mitra masyarakat ekonomi produktif pengahasil bawang goreng kemasan di desa Mon Geuddong Kota Lhokseumawe Kecamatan Banda Sakti Provinsi Aceh. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah pada bidang produksi dimana proses pengrajangan bawang menggunakan pisau iris membutuhkan waktu yang lama dan kapasitas produksi maksimum hanya 0,5 kg/jam atau 8 kg/hari. Sehingga kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk memecahkan permasalahan  produksi dengan ketidaksiapan mitra dalam memenuhi permintaan konsumen adalah dengan mengimplementasikan mesin perajang bawang segar otomatis berbahan stainless steel foodgrade dapat dioperasikan dengan cepat, praktis, ekonomis, dan  menghasilkan bawang rajang yang seragam.  Pelaksanaan PKM dilakukan di lokasi mitra dimulai dengan observasi tim pelaksana PKM ke lokasi mitra, pembekalan materi, perancangan mesin pengrajang bawang, demonstrasi, pengoperasian, dan perawatan.   Hasil implementasi mesin rajang terbukti dapat meningkatkan kapasitas produksi bawang rajang dari 0,5 kg/jam menjadi 12 kg/jam atau meningkatkan kapasitas bawang goreng dari 3,5 kg/hari menjadi 35 kg/hari

Abstract

Kemampuan membaca pemahaman adalah salah satu keterampilan penting dalam pendidikan yang berpengaruh besar terhadap pemahaman dan pencapaian akademik siswa. Di era digital ini, penggunaan media multimedia menjadi semakin penting dalam upaya meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman, terutama bagi generasi Z yang sudah terbiasa dengan teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti efektivitas penggunaan media multimedia dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas 2 di SDN 15/IV Kota Jambi. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan pendekatan tindakan kelas dengan desain siklus ganda pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) yang berfokus pada sikap dan perilaku menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah dilakukan intervensi dengan media multimedia. Diskusi mengenai temuan ini menekankan pentingnya integrasi teknologi digital dalam pendidikan di era Abad ke-21. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penggunaan media multimedia, seperti komik, infografis, poster, dan mini vlog terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa, sehingga integrasi teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran menjadi relevan dan penting dalam menghadapi tantangan pendidikan saat ini. Media ini membantu siswa kelas 2 SDN 15/IV Kota Jambi untuk lebih memahami materi dengan cara yang menarik dan interaktif, sesuai dengan prinsip pembelajaran mandiri dan kreatif yang digagas oleh Ki Hadjar Dewantara.
