Abstract

Abstractbody image is a mental image,perseption,the mind that owned by a person, for bodysize, body shape, and the body weight leads to pyhsical appearence. At theadolescence,physical growrth experiencing fast changing. It faster than childhood andat the grown up. These physical changes affect the body image of young women.Pysical activity Oral multidimensional complex forms of human behavior and thebehavior of the class rather than theoretically, covering all the gestures ranging fromsmall movements to participate in the marathon. lack of physical activity is anindependent risk factor for chronic diseases, and overall is estimated to cause of deathglobally. This research is a descriptive study that aims to describe body image andphysical activity in girls smp al-ulum pekanbaru. The study population was gradervii, viii, and IX smp al-ulum pekanbaru the sample amounted to 56 people who aredetermined by the total sampling method. Data collection was conducted on 9 Marchto 10 March 2015 through questionnaires filled out by the student and the height andweight measurements of respondents. This study used a questionnaire adoption tutirestuastuti (2011) obtained the result that the respondents were not satisfied with hissize is 31 people (55.36%) more than satisfied respondents amounted to 25 people.(44.64%). based on the existing nutritional status obtained underweight 18 people(32.14%), the normal 30 people (53.58%), overweght 5 people (8.92%) and obesityamounted to 3 people (5.36%). for physical activity obtained low activity of 31people (55.36% 0), moderate physical activity at least 21 people (37.5%) and highphysical activity as much as 4 people (7.14%).key words: body image, physical activity and nutritional status

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe increase in population led to the accumulation of garbage is increasing. Inorganic waste is a major problem that the longer amount is not reduced and often received less attention. The problem is the difficulty of inorganic waste management because it is difficult to rot and decompose. A good waste management requires the participation of the community. The Public Health Department of Medical Faculty of Riau University has made a program that involves the community in managing the inorganic waste to the sorting stage. The program is establishing waste bank assisted. This type of research is descriptive qualitative approach, with in-depth interviews, focus groups, and observation. By using the snowballing sampling technique obtained 26 samples from the population, which acts as a cadre of society, people who do not act as a cadre, community leaders, and lecturers form Public Health Department. The results obtained are the savings into the motivation of people to participate in the management of inorganic waste. The activity was sorting of waste in the household, then people dropping off and weigh to the bank, further cooperation with Labuai waste bank for picking-up and selling the waste, then the Labuaiwaste bank managing inorganic waste into handicrafts in cooperation with the UPPKS (Prosperous Family Income Improvement Effort). Expectations of the people in the management of inorganic waste was increasing public engagement, manufacture passbook, bank development and training of its own garbage crafts.Keywords: Participation, waste management inorganic, waste bank

Abstract

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways. Asthma gymnastics is one of rehabilitation efforts that mayimprove asthma patients lung function. This research was a cross sectional study to determine correlation of durationof asthma gymnastics with pulmonary function. Respondents were all asthma patients who follow asthma gymnasticsin Riau University Teaching Hospital and Health Center Rumbai. Data were collected with spirometry test with totalsampling. Most of respondents were in the age group 41-50 years (38.7%), female respondents 77.4%, most ofrespondents had a history of asthma in the family (61.3%), duration of asthma gymnastics more than 3 months(61.3%), asthma degree was intermittent (38,7%), level of asthma control was controlled 61.3% and spirometry testshowed that 54.8% respondent were classified obstructive. There is a moderate positive correlation between durationof asthma gymnastics with lung vital capacity with r = 0,451 and p = 0,011.

Abstract

ABSTRACTWaste management is an activity in waste reduction and handling that is systematic, continous and thorough. The state of good and health environmental in acollege is needed as carrying comfort in learning. The state of a clean and healthy environment is determined by the behavior of individuals who materialized in the form of knowledge, attitudes and actions. The purpose of this study to determine the correlation between knowledge level of student with attitudes of waste management in Medical Faculty of Riau University . This type of research was analytic survey with cross sectional approach. Samples in this reseacrh were 90 respondents from population students of Medical Faculty of Riau University.The data that were collected using a questionnaire to assess knowledge and attitudes. The results of this study, obtained that 44 students (48,9%) had a good knowledge and 65 students (72,2%) had a neutral stance. From the statistical test result was obtained that p=0,971 for the correlation with the students knowledge of waste management attitude.Keywords: Knowledge, attitudes, waste management

Abstract

Formalin is aqueous solution of chemical compund formaldehyde (30-50%) and methyl alcohol (10-20%). Missapropriation of formalin as perservatives has became society common issue, which was the use of formalin on foods, such as salted carps. This study aimed to determine the formaldehyde substance in salted carps that sold in traditional markets. This is a descriptive laboratory study where 6 traditional markets administered by the Office of Pekanbaru City Market have obtained as samples. Tests were conducted in the Laboratory of Biochemistry Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau. Qualitative study was to see whether or not salted carps contained any formaldehyde substances and semi-quantitative study was to determine the formaldehyde concentrate in salted carps. Examination of 20 salted carps as samples showed a qualitative result that all samples positively contained formaldehyde, which was indicated by the purple color in the formalin test. Result of semi- quantitative test showed a diversity of formaldehyde concentration in the range 1.89 % - 7.66%, which was leading to a conclusion samples wether population were positively contained formaldehyde.Key word: formaldehyde, salted carp, traditional market

Abstract

ABSTRACTAsthma is a chronic inflammatory process in the respiratory tract. In the process of respiratory tract will be hiperesponsif. The level of asthma knowledge is essential to achieve the level of asthma control. Patients and families can understand asthma with either consciously would avoid trigger factors attacks. This study aims to determine the relationship of the level asthma knowledge to the level of asthma control in the pulmonary clinic Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru. This study uses an analytical method with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used in the formula n= and the obtained value n = 97 people. The study was held on February-May 2015 at the pulmonary polyclinic of Arifin Achmad general hospital Pekanbaru. The results of this study with the most level of knowledge asthma is higher 72 people (74%), the level of uncontrolled asthma control 77 people (79.4%), based on age 18-45 years are 51 people (52.6% ), most are female gender 62 people (64%). Most jobs are housewives 47 people (48.5%). Relations with the level asthma knowledge level of and asthma control by chi square’s test found no significant relationship between the level asthma knowledge to the level of asthma control with p = 0.843 (p <0.5).Keywords: Level of asthma general knowledge, asthma control level

Abstract

ABSTRACTScavenger is a worker who sort the waste and has a high risk for disease and accident. It was caused by the waste in the garbage which mixed between organic waste and anorganic waste. However, they aren’t aware about that. One of the procedure to avoid that risk is using the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).The aim of this study is to know perception of scavengers about occupational health and safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The type of this study is descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, focus group discussions and observation. Sample of this study are 10 scavengers and divided into 2 groups : 4 scavengers for in-depth interview and 6 scavengers for focus group discussion. This study showed that the perception of scavengers about the risk of disease at working was bad, they only knew that weary and dizzy was caused by tired after working. Meanwhile, the perception of accident risk at working was good because they knew that the risk of injuries was caused by sharp object such as glass, knife or thorns and moving equipment such as bulldozer or trucks carrying waste. They only used gloves, safety shoes like booth and hat to reduced the risk and they didn’t use the mask because they thought that it interfered their inhalation.Keywords: Scavenger, Perception, Occupational Health and Safety, Personal Protective Equipment

Abstract

Physical fitness is a fundamental element being a human. A fit and healthy body helped us to maintain focus while studying, leads to excellent understanding and ability to solve a problem. This research aimed to discover the relationship of knowledge and attitude of faculty of medicine, university of riau students to their physical fitness level. This analytic research used a cross sectional design to 86 sample of faculty of medicine, university of riau students. This research used Harvard Step Test as the method to measure the fitness level and a valid questionnaire to assess the knowledge and attitude aspects. The result is 51 students (59.3 %) had a good knowledge, 46 students (53.5%) had a negative, and 71 students (82.6 %) had a bad physical fitness. From statistical point of view found p=1.031 for the relation between knowledge and physical fitness p=0.437 for the relation between attitude and physical fitness.Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude, Physical Fitness, Harvard Step Test

Abstract

ABSTRACTSporting achievements ASEAN decreased level of concern for athletes. Riau Province has not been a lot of achievement in national and even international level. To achieve optimal performance in every sport, there are some complete one of which is mental development. In terms of the development of mental or psychological aspect, confidence in body shape quite an important role in influencing the performance of athletes. The aim of this study to find out how the perception of heavy lifters, weightlifter, and bodybuilder Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Riau Province about body image. This study method was a descriptive cross-sectional with total sampling technique. The results showed that the heavy lifters of 16 people, weightlifter 9 people, and bodybuilder 5 people. Mostly male athletes than female (70.0%), the average age was at the end of adolescent age 17-25 years (66.7%), had a Body Mass Index at most Overweight (33.3%), and mostly had normal body image (73.3%).Keywords: body image, heavy lifters, weightlifter, bodybuilder

Abstract

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways in which many cell and cellular elements play a role. Asthma gymnastic is one of the recommended exercise therapy to help the process of rehabilitation in patients with asthma. To assist in the management of asthma besides of rehabilitation by following the asthma exercise, it is necessary to control the asthma. Asthma Control Test (ACT) is a screening test in the form of a questionnaire on clinical judgement to know asthma is controlled or not. The research design useing descriptive study with cross sectional approachment. The sampling technique used total sampling with 31 samples obtained. Result showed that asthma patients who followed gymnastics asma were in the age group 21-30 years old (41,94%), most commonly happened in female (70,97%), most common had comorbidities (58,06%), most common patients had a family history of asthma (74,20%), the length of time following the most gymnastics was asthma gymnastics < 3 month of people (61,30%). The degree was the most severe asthma persistent (54,84%), assessment of asthma control was the most uncontrolled asthma (45,16%)Key word : Asthma, Asthma gymnastics, Asthma Control Test (ACT)
