Abstract

This research aims to describe students' syntactic competence in arranging focus transformation sentence. The researchers employed a qualitative approach of single case study. The data obtained were acceptable sentences from spoken Indonesian language. Meanwhile, the data analysis applied an interactive model. The research result identifies that the Junior High School students, particularly the eighth-graders, has had syntactic competence in arranging focus transformation sentence by practicing the rules of intonation, movement, passive structure, and possessive pronoun.

Abstract

The gender role of a person, whether male or female, depends on the cultural values that develop in the classroom. In the patriarchal class, from the start the gender roles of male students were more dominant than girls, so there was a comparison of gender roles and in turn, men were considered more powerful than women in the class. However, poststructuralism discourse analysis views men's and women's rights equally. This paper reveals that there are differences between male and female students, as seen from the results of the analysis during class discussions. Poststructuralism discourse analysis provides equal rights and research is carried out naturally, without favoritism in learning. The teacher allows the discussion to take place so that it is clear that there is no teacher domination of male and female students.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) Penerapan langkah-langkah belajar menulis kalimat berhuruf Jawa dengan metode kuantum, (2) Penggunaan media gambar dengan metode kuantum, (3) Peningkatan motivasi belajar menulis kalimat berhuruf Jawa dengan metode Kuantum. Jenis penelitian: deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data: siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah Kedungbanteng. Data: hasil belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah Kedungbanteng. Teknik pengumpulan data: tes melalui prasiklus, siklus I, dan siklus II. Instrumen penelitian: lembar observasi dan soal tes. Hasil penelitian ini meliputi: (1) Penerapan langkah-lagkah belajar menulis kalimat berhuruf Jawa ditempuh melalui 2 siklus, yaitu siklus I dan siklus II. Setiap siklus ditempuh langkah Tandur, yaitu: (a) Tumbuhkan, guru mengenalkan dan menjelaskan cara menulis kalimat berhurufJawa, (b) Alami, siswa mempelajari contoh kalimat berhuruf Jawa, sandhangan, pasangan, dan pratandha, (c) Namai, siswa mendiskusikan kalimat berhuruf Jawa yang telah ditugaskan oleh guru, (d) Demonstrasi, guru meminta siswa menjelaskan hasil diskusi di depan kelas, (e) Ulangi, siswa diminta untuk memperbaiki tulisan siswa yang sudah dikoreksi oleh guru, (f) Rayakan, guru menilai hasil karya siswa dan memberikan penghargaan, pujian, dan tepuk tangan kepada siswa yang mampu menulis kalimat berhuruf Jawa dengan benar. (2) Penggunaan media gambar dengan metode kuantum pada pembelajaran menulis kalimat berhuruf Jawa dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa yaitu dilihat dari prasiklus siswa yang tuntas 8 siswa dari 20 siswa, siklus 1 siswa yang tuntas 13 siswa dan siklus 2 yang tuntas 17 siswa. (3) Peningkatan motivasi belajar menulis kalimat berhuruf Jawa dengan metode Kuantum dilakukan melalui prasiklus, siklus I, dan siklus II. Pada siklus 1 siswa yang aktif dalam pembelajaran ada 9 siswa dari 20 siswa Pada siklus 2 siswa yang aktif dalam pembelajaran ada 18 siswa. Fakta inilah yang menunjukkan bahwa dengan media gambar melalui metode kuantum dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis kalimat berhuruf Jawa pada siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah Kedungbanteng tahun pelajaran 2014/2015.   Kata kunci: metode kuantum, keterampilan menulis kalimat berhuruf Jawa

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the process of transformation and complexity of embedded sentences. This type of research is a one-site case study. The data source of this study was the verbal text of the students' utterances. The data, in the form of accepted sentences, were analyzed by using the interactive model of Milles & Huberman. The results shows that the transformation process in junior high school students’ embedded sentences of spoken Bahasa Indonesia were included the use of TTF, TTKLesap, TTNom, TTGanKlit, TSA, TSPelFN, and TSPelFVrules. The complexity of students’ sentence is shown by the use of the seven rules of transformation in a sentence. This finding shows that the eighth grade students have syntactic competence in the transformation of embedded sentences.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the form of hate speech in netizen comments on the @obrolanpolitik Instagram account, and describe the function of hate speech in netizen comments on the @obrolanpolitik Instagram account. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach and this type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data was obtained from the collection of utterances written by netizens in the IG account @obrolanpolitik. Data in the form of sentences containing hate speech were analyzed using pragmatic theory. The results show that hate speech can be grouped based on its form and function. Based on its form, hate speech is divided into 6, namely: (1) forms of humiliation, (2) forms of spreading false news, (3) forms of provocation, (4) forms of defamation, (5) forms of blasphemy, and (6) forms of incitement. Based on its function, hate speech is divided into 3, namely (1) the function of stating, (2) the function of commanding, and (3) the function of satirical. Hate speech forms are represented by lingual markers of words, phrases, and clauses. AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk tuturan kebencian dalam komentar warganet pada akun Instagram @obrolanpolitik, dan mendeskripsikan fungsi tuturan kebencian dalam komentar warganet pada akun Instagram @obrolanpolitik. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari pengumpulan tuturan yang ditulis oleh warganet dalam akun IG @obrolanpolitik. Data berupa tuturan yang mengandung tuturan kebencian dianalisis menggunakan teori pragmatik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tuturan kebencian dapat dikelompokkan berdasarkan bentuk dan fungsinya. Berdasarkan bentuknya, tuturan kebencian terbagi menjadi 6, yaitu: (1) bentuk penghinaan, (2) bentuk penyebaran berita bohong, (3) bentuk provokasi, (4) bentuk pencemaran nama baik, (5) bentuk penistaan, dan (6) bentuk penghasutan. Berdasarkan fungsinya, tuturan kebencian terbagi menjadi 3, yaitu (1) fungsi menyatakan, (2) fungsi memerintah, dan (3) fungsi menyindir. Bentuk-bentuk tuturan kebencian direpresentasikan oleh penanda lingual kata, frasa, dan klausa.

Abstract

Children's cartoons are television shows that are an alternative for children to watch. This audiovisual presentation contains a lot of educational value. This paper aims to describe the cultural diversity contained in the children's cartoon film “Adit & Sopo Jarwo from the perspective of multimodal analysis. The method used in analyzing this cartoon is a qualitative method using content analysis. The content analysis model used is the multimodal analysis model proposed by Teo van Leeuwen. The results showed that the multimodal content in the ASJ film can be seen from the actors, characteristics, social relations, action and reaction, property, and criticality. AbstrakFilm kartun anak merupakan sajian pertelevisian yang menjadi alternatif tontonan bagi anak. Sajian audiovisual ini banyak mengandung nilai edukasi. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keragaman kultur yang terdapat dalam film kartun anak “Adit & Sopo Jarwo dalam perspektif analisis multimoda. Metode yang digunakan dalam menganalisis film kartun ini adalah metode kualitatif, yaitu analisis konten.  Model analisis konten yang digunakan adalah model analisis multimoda yang dikemukakan oleh Teo van Leeuwen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa multimoda yang terdapat dalam film ASJ dapat ditinjau dari pelaku, karakterisasi, hubungan sosial, aksi reaksi, properti, dan kekritisan.

Abstract

Tahun 2018 merupakan titik balik bagi kota Palu, Sigi, dan Donggala untuk menjadi destinasi yang paling terkenal, bukan saja di Indonesia, tetapi di seluruh penjuru dunia. Ketiga wilayah ini diterpa bencana yang dahsyat, yaitu gempa, tsunami, dan likuifaksi. Dampak dari gempa tersebut menyisakan puing-puing kisah dalam berbagai versi, salah satunya adalah kisah Sastra Lingga Adiamaru, penulis muda berbakat dari kota Palu yang mengemas kembali kisah tersebut dalam novel yang berjudul “28 September: dalam Tragedi 7,4 Magnitudo”. Kajian terhadap novel ini akan dilakukan dalam kerangka sastra perjalanan. Dia mengungkap kembali jejak-jejak keindahan kota Palu, Sigi, dan Donggala (Pasigala) yang tergerus oleh dahsyatnya fenomena alam dalam untaian kata-kata. Guratan tinta yang dikreasikan oleh Sastra menawarkan sebuah perjalanan menelusuri Pasigala dalam kisah romantis tokoh yang diusung, yaitu Taufiq. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengupas novel ini adalah metode kualitatif. Naskah dianalisis menggunakan teori sastra perjalanan penggambaran dunia Carl Thompson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggambaran dunia dalam novel ini menggunakan alat berupa perpindahan (movement), waktu dan tempat (space), dan (pertemuan). Tempat yang digambarkan yaitu Kota Palu, Kampung Nelayan, Kelurahan Balaroa, Kelurahan Petobo, dan Masjid Terapung

Abstract

This intertextual analysis of the mantras in the Nosaviraka healing ritual does not intend to compare the contents of the Quran and Hadits with the oral text of the mantras because the Quran is a sacred divine word without the intervention of creatures. The study aims to describe the relationship between Nosaviraka healing ritual, the Kaili tribe in Central Sulawesi and the the Quran and Hadits. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with an intertextual approach.  The data source for this research is Nosaviraka healing ritual. The data in the form of the arrays in the mantras were analyzed using the intertextual theory, namely determining the link between the arrays of the mantras and the Quran and Hadits. Based on the research results obtained three findings. First, here is a relationship between the text of the Nosaviraka mantra and the text of the Quran and Hadits. This relationship is shown in all parts of the mantra, namely (a) the initial mantra of agreement, (b) the mantra of summoning ancestors, (c) the mantra of healing, (d) the mantra of salvation, and (e) the mantra of the end. Second, the Nosaviraka ritual mantra as a hypogram, while the text of the Quran and Hadits as the owner of the transformation. Directly or indirectly, the Nosaviraka mantra, the Quran, and the Hadits can be seen from the similarity in structure, but the use of imagination is slightly different in theme. Third, there is a strong tendency that the Nosaviraka mantra is a form of belief in Allah SWT which is associated with the Quran as its hypogram.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the structure found in the mythical Likunggavali waterfall in the village of Uevolo. This research uses qualitative descriptive research methods. The source of the data in this study is the oral text obtained from the results of interviews and observations. The data in this study is the units of language as a sentence. The data was analyzed using the Levi-Strauss structuralist approach. The results of this study show that the structure found in the mythical Likunggavali waterfall is divided into two categories: geographical structure and sociological structure. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur yang terdapat di dalam mitos air terjun Likunggavali di desa Uevolo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualititatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah teks lisan.  pengamatan, wawancara, perekaman, pencatatan, dan dokumentasi. Yang menjadi data dalam penelitian ini adalah satuan bahasa berupa kalimat. Data tersebut dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan kajian strukturalisme Levi-Strauss. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa struktur yang terdapat dalam mitos air terjun Likunggavali terbagi dua yaitu struktur geografis dan struktur sosiologis.

Abstract

The primary issue addressed in this study pertains to the limited reading proficiency among students in class VIII at SMPN 1 Tikke Raya. The objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the discovery learning model in enhancing the reading and comprehension skills of these students. To evaluate the students’ reading comprehension abilities, this study analyzes their comprehensive understanding at factual, interpretative, and applicative levels, as defined by Ruddell’s Taxonomy. The study adopts an experimental design, employing a pretest-posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study population comprises 72 students, with a sample size of 48 students allocated to both the experimental and control groups. The data collection for this study includes reading ability and comprehension tests, as well as observations of students’ attitudes and skills during the intervention period. At the pretest stage, the results indicate no significant variation between the control and experimental groups, with the control group obtaining an average score of 42.29 and the experimental group achieving an average score of 45.00. However, the posttest findings reveal a disparity between the control and experimental groups, with the control group averaging 52.71 and the experimental group averaging 56.04. The data analysis yields a significance value of 0.453. Considering a significance level of 0.05 in the Mann-Whitney test, the Discovery Learning model is deemed ineffective in influencing the reading abilities of the students under examination.
