Abstract

An sudden death is a case that occurs without prior health complaints, so that its cause cannot be identified. On a death certificate, a doctor needs to state a cause of death, so an autopsy is usually required to confirm the cause of the sudden death. Implementation of autopsies  in cases of sudden deaths at the forensic medicine installation of Dr. Soetomo Hospital during 2014-2016 periods was only around 12%. This research is a literature review. A verbal autopsy is suggested to be useful to determine a valid cause of a death; therefore, recording of deaths in the hospital will be more accurate. WHO has published various standards of verbal autopsies in 2012. Validation of the verbal autopsies by questionnaires has shown an acceptable diagnostic accuracy to identify a cause of death compared to a cause of death obtained from medical records.

Abstract

WHO designates the COVID-19 incident as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (KKMMD/PHEIC). The Indonesian government has also declared it a national disaster. One of the Indonesian Government's strategies in suppressing the spread of Covid-19 is to establish a Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) policy. PSBB Malang Raya was held from May 17 to May 31, 2020. Malang Raya area includes Malang Regency, Malang City, and Batu City. The purpose of writing this paper is to review and discuss large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in Malang Raya from the legal aspect. The research method used is a normative research method. The implementation of PSBB in Malang City refers to Malang Mayor Regulation No. 17 of 2020 concerning Guidelines for Large-Scale Social Restrictions in the Context of Accelerating The Handling of Corona Virus Disease 2019. During the enactment of PSBB, everyone is required to carry out health protocols. PSBB regulations outlined in various laws and regulations must be obeyed and carried out in a disciplined manner by every resident. On the other hand, the government must also provide minimal basic needs during the PSBB, especially for economically affected residents. Public awareness and compliance with the laws and regulations and the government's appeal to the Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) policy is important not to be violated. After the PSBB period was run for 14 days, the PSBB in Malang Raya was not extended but continued with the preparation of the transition to a new normal life in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is necessary to periodically evaluate epidemiological indicators on the development of COVID-19 cases in Malang Raya. Keywords: PSBB, COVID-19, Malang City

Abstract

Hospitals as health services should prevent the risk of infection for patients and hospital staff. One indicator of success in hospital services is the low number of nosocomial infections or Healthcare-Associated Infection. Efforts to reduce the incidence of nosocomial infections are by carrying out good Central Sterile Supply Department services. This study aims to describe the process of sterilization transition in Mitra Delima Hospital Malang from a decentralized system to a centralized system. This study uses a qualitative approach that is focused on the Sterilization Unit of General hospital of Mitra Delima Malang. The study was conducted in August-October 2019. This research was conducted using interviews, observations, document studies, and literature studies. Sterilization activities at Mitra Delima Malang General Hospital which is still decentralized, starting from the decontamination process to labelling in other units, it is necessary to have a plan to develop a Central Sterilization Installation that is in line with the needs of Mitra Delima Malang General Hospital and accordance with the regulations, guidelines, and standards of Installation Central Sterilization to achieve the ideal Central Sterilization Installation. Sterilization in hospitals should use a centralized system. With a centralized and independent sterilization system with other departments, hospitals can be efficient, economical, safe, and valid in implementing sterilization equipment. This also ensures that the sterilization process will be overseen by specialized staff and runs according to the standard operating procedures.

Abstract

Mental health disorders are a significant issue, yet there is currently no consistent data regarding the factors that may contribute to their occurrence. The aim of this study was to identify the factors that may influence the occurrence of mental health disorders in the undergraduate student population. This meta-analysis, registered in PROSPERO, was conducted as of September 5, 2024. The systematic searches were conducted on three databases (Scopus, Embase, and PubMed). Data on factors related to the occurrence of mental health disorders in undergraduate students were collected to calculate pooled point estimates using the Mantel-Haenszel test. Out of 6,837 articles, 16 articles were included in the analysis. Our findings revealed that female students had a higher chance of experiencing mental health disorders compared to male students (OR: 1.43; 95%CI: 1.14–1.80; p-Egger of 0.1041; p-Heterogeneity of <0.0001; p=0.0020). The chance of having mental health disorders was also higher among single students compared to those in relationships (OR: 1.20; 95%CI: 1.02–1.43; p-Egger of 0.0535; p-Heterogeneity of 0.1130; p=0.0180). This study did not find any associations between age group, family income, smoking, living arrangements, years of study, or regularity of physical activity with the occurrence of mental health disorders. These findings could serve as a basis for improving policies aimed at reducing the rates of mental health disorders in undergraduate students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how patient satisfaction, loyalty, and the hospital's reputation are affected by service quality at RSSA. The study employs a quantitative approach to achieve its objectives. Data were collected via questionnaires from 94 outpatients at the Pharmacy Service Unit of RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar who met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis employed the SEM-PLS method. The research findings suggest that service quality does not directly affect patient loyalty. However, both the hospital image and patient satisfaction significantly influence patient loyalty. The mediation analysis indicates that the hospital image does not act as a mediator in the relationship between service quality and patient loyalty. In contrast, patient satisfaction does mediate this effect. This research decisively strengthens hospital management's policies to improve service quality and patient satisfaction, while effectively evaluating the quality of hospital services. This initiative is vital for establishing a strong reputation for the hospital and ensuring unwavering patient loyalty. This research decisively establishes the connection between service quality and customer loyalty.
