Abstract

KTH Agro Sumber Rejeki is one of the forest farmer groups located in the Register 40 production forest area in South Lampung Regency. This community service in the context of diversifying non-timber forest products (NTFPs), namely citronella oil. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide knowledge, technical production skills and quality requirements for citronella massage oil and telon oil, through empowering women from KTH Agro Sumber Rejeki. The method used in this PKM activity consisting of several stages, first technical guidance for making telon citronella oil and citronella sequence oil with 3 variants: natural, lemon and rose as well as counseling on herbal medicine quality requirements The effectiveness of PKM activities is evaluated by carrying out a pretest and postest. The average postest score was 83.53, an increase of 49.41 points from the pretest score with a total score of 100. The evaluation results showed that there was an increase in knowledge and technical skills in making telon citronella oil and citronella massage oil and also understanding the quality requirements of herbal medicines in women of KTH Agro Sumber Rejeki. . Abstract

Post-harvest Robusta coffee conducted by local farmers in West Lampung consisted of two post-harvest processes: dry processing (natural, honey) and wet processing (full wash). The study aimed to identify the post-harvest process stages, the value of quality defects and to characterize the chemical composition (chlorogenic acid, caffeine) of coffee beans from different post-harvest processes produced by Gapoktan Triguna Tribudi Syukur, West Lampung. The research used survey and interview methods equipped with laboratory analysis. The research sample was determined by purposive sampling, a coffee producer (Gapoktan Triguna) who have been fostering coffee in West Lampung for 35 years. Coffee quality analysis refered to SNI 01-2907-2020. The results showed that the post-harvest process carried out by Gapoktan Triguna on honey, natural and full wash processing produced premium quality of of coffee beans (1-2 quality) with the highest number of quality defects produced were broken beans. The roasting process with semi-mechanical and mechanical machines with natural processing produced high chlorogenic acid content (>3%) and the caffeine content according to the SNI caffeine content (2%). Keywords: caffeine, chlorogenic acid, defects, post-harvest, Robusta

Abstract

Candlenut (Aleurites moluccana L) is one of the native plants of Indonesia, used as a spice and in the cosmetic industry. Candlenut seeds contain high oil content with unstable properties at high temperatures. Generally, candlenut oil production is carried out by direct heating and on a laboratory, scale using Soxhlet extraction with chemical solvents. Microwave heating has been widely used to extract the active compounds in plant materials. The study of candlenut oil extraction with microwaves is still limited. This study aims to identify the physicochemical properties and yield of candlenut oil extracted using the Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) method and compare it with solvent extraction. This research was conducted by varying the extraction time of 35 minutes, 70 minutes and 105 minutes. The results showed that candlenut oil produced by the MAE method had a density, refractive index, ALB content and saponification number of 0.867 g/ml, 1.477, 2.8085% and 212.9764 mgKOH/g sample with a yield of 38.50%.

Abstract

Provinsi Lampung merupakan salah satu penghasil gula kristal terbesar di Indonesia. Industri gula kristal menghasilkan limbah padat berupa ampas tebu dalam jumlah besar dan belum termanfaatkan secara optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis mikroba terhadap kandungan nutrisi, sifat organoleptik dan palatibilitas pakan sapi dari campuran pucuk dan ampas tebu. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan kontrol (P0) tanpa penambahan mikroba, perlakuan P1 menggunakan Saccaromyces cerevisiae dan perlakuan P2 menggunakan EM- 4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pakan sapi dengan penambahan EM-4 (P2) menghasilkan kandungan protein kasar tertinggi yaitu 13,09% dengan warna pakan gelap, menghasilkan aroma khas fermentasi, tekstur sedikit basah dan hasil uji palatabilitas menunjukkan pakan P2 lebih disukai dibandingkan dengan P0 dan P1.

Abstract

Bamboo is one of the biomass resources that Indonesia has a lot of untapped potential for using as a renewable energy source. Solid waste called biomass is used as a sustainable energy source to replace fossil fuels (i.e., petroleum), because it does not contain Sulphur and pollute the air. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of bio briquettes produced from waste charcoal from bamboo pyrolysis. being aware of the maximum calorific value depending on the adhesive quantity and particle size. Moreover, understand how the size of the particles and the amount of adhesive used impact the calorific value of bio briquettes. This study employed the pyrolysis of bamboo charcoal as its raw material. The charcoal's particle sizes varied, ranging from 30 to 50 mesh, and the percentage of tapioca adhesive varied from 6% to 10%, with a 1:10 adhesive to water ratio between the three samples. The results of the tests that have been carried out show that bamboo charcoal from bamboo pyrolysis can be used as bio briquettes of good quality. The highest calorific value was found in bio briquettes, with a variation in the percentage of adhesive of 6% and a particle size of 50 mesh, which was 6131.58 calories per gramme. The greater the percentage of adhesive used, the smaller the resulting calorific value, and the smaller the particle size used, the greater the resulting bio briquette calorific value.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan pendidikan berpedoman pada kurikulum yang telah disusun secara sistematis dan bertahap yang diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Pengembangan pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) di Indonesia harus diarahkan untuk beradaptasi dengan dinamika global dan nasional khususnya terhadap Revolusi Industri 4.0 saat ini, menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja dengan menyempurnakan kurikulum dan mengintegrasikan dengan banyak pemangku kepentingan. SMK Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung berdiri berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Wali Kota Bandar Lampung Nomor 511/14.40/HK/2014 tanggal 11 April 2014. Kurikulum yang digunakan di SMK Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung adalah Kurikulum Merdeka. Bandar Lampung saat ini adalah terbatasnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam pemanfaatan teknologi software engineering SuperPro Designer yang digunakan dalam bidang Teknik Kimia Industri. Padahal SMKN 8 Bandar Lampung memiliki fasilitas Laboratorium Komputer yang memadai namun belum terpasang software pendukung lanjutan Teknik Kimia khususnya aplikasi SuperPro Designer. Dengan adanya kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan fasilitas pendukung dalam proses belajar dalam hal ini aplikasi SuperPro Designer dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru di SMKN 8 Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

Biji  pala memiliki nilai komersial sebagai rempah maupun sebagai bahan baku obat dan kosmetik. Biji pala mengandung lemak yang telah diaplikasikan sebagai pelembab di industri kosmetik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan rendemen dan mutu lemak pala hasil ekstraksi dengan dan tanpa perlakuan enzimatis, serta pengaruh waktu ekstraksi dan   mengkaji kinetika enzim selulase dalam mendegradasi biji pala. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Ekstraksi lemak pala dengan perlakuan awal menggunakan sellulase menghasilkan rendemen serta bilangan saponifikasi yang lebih baik dibandingkan ekstraksi tanpa perlakuan awal masing-masing adalah 28,45%, 23,02%, 224 dan 221 mg KOH/g lemak. Kinetika degradasi biji pala oleh selulase mengikuti kinetika Michaelis Menten dengan parameter yaitu laju reaksi maksimum, Vm dan konstanta Michaelis Menten,  Km masing-masing adalah 0,34464 g/L/menit dan 0,41156 g/L
