Abstract

One way to improve the quality of life for the elderly is to do physical exercise. Physical exercise can maintain or improve flexibility, cardiopulmonary endurance, agility, strength and balance. Several studies show that physical exercise has a consistent effect in reducing the risk of falls in healthy older adults. Kuptniratsaikul's research in 2009-2010 showed that simple balance exercises carried out by elderly people with a history of falls could reduce the incidence of falls in the elderly and significantly improve body balance. A 2017 Cuevas meta-analysis study showed that balance training programs showed the greatest effect in reducing the risk of falls in the elderly. For elderly people who are not yet able to do balance exercises independently, they need assistance from professional staff. Elderly people are an age group that is vulnerable to falls. The aim of implementing this service is to detect the risk of falls in the elderly and provide assistance with balance exercises as an effort to prevent the risk of falls in the elderly. Falls occur due to an unintentional loss of balance which results in failure of postural stability, or an unexpected and sudden change which results in the position landing on the floor . Associated risk factors include current health status (living in the community, nursing home, hospital, weak or active state), existing diseases (diabetes, hip fracture, stroke) and general changes related to aging (decreased balance, coordination, strength muscle, visual disturbances, etc.). The output targets to be achieved include publication of accredited national journals and copyright for videos of community service activities. The method used is a fall risk detection examination using the Time Up and Go Test and continued by providing balance training, so that elderly people who are at risk of falling can be identified as early as possible so that providing balance training can maintain and improve the elderly's body balance.

Abstract

Old age is a time when individuals can feel unity, integrity and reflection of their lives. If not, this will lead to inequality and can even result in pathology, a kind of mental illness (Latifah, 2010). According to Depkomindo 2010, elderly people in Indonesia in 2008 numbered 23 million people, while neglected elderly people reached 1.7 million to 2 million people. Mental health problems in the elderly can originate from 4 aspects, namely physical, psychological, social and economic. These problems can include emotional instability, irritability, easily feeling harassed, disappointed, unhappy, feelings of loss and uselessness. Elderly people with these problems are vulnerable to experiencing psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety (anxiety), psychosis (insanity) or drug addiction. In general, elderly mental health problems are adjustment problems. This adjustment is due to a change from the previous situation (still physically strong, working and earning) to a decline. The elderly are also identified with decreased endurance, physical activity and experiencing various kinds of diseases. The elderly will need medication, the amount or type of which depends on the disease they are suffering from. The more illnesses the elderly have, the more types of medication are needed. The large number of types of medication will cause problems, including the possibility of requiring compliance or causing confusion in using or how to take medication. Besides that, it can increase the risk of drug side effects or drug interactions. Providing good nutrition and adequate physical activity is very necessary for the elderly. This is done with the consideration that the elderly need adequate nutrition and sufficient physical activity to support and maintain health. Several factors that influence nutritional needs include: reduced ability to digest food, reduced taste, and food absorption factors. In this outreach activity for the elderly, it is hoped that the elderly in Gonilan village will benefit from what the instructors have conveyed about the importance of adequate nutrition and physical activity to maintain the health of the elderly. These include awareness in fulfilling healthy nutrition, healthy food processing, and adequate portions for the elderly

Abstract

Conversation is a common pattern of interaction between physiotherapists and patients. However, in child growth and development therapy, where the patient is a child aged 0-12 months, of course communication behavior involves the parents. The pattern of interaction between physiotherapists and patient parents in relation to the child's growth and development is what is studied in this research. This research was carried out with the aim of assessing the influence of communication patterns between physiotherapists and parents on the motor development process of children aged 0-12 months. In pediatric cases, the communication pattern between physiotherapists and parents is a medium that can be useful in the process of exchanging information both in stimulating children's growth and development and in matters related to other children's motor development processes. This is due to differences in the conditions of each child which will make parents and physiotherapists experience problems when carrying out therapy sessions. Through statistical tests, this research succeeded in concluding that there is a significant relationship between the intensity of parental communication on the process of motor development of children aged 0-12 months in the process of growth and development therapy.

Abstract

Background: Lower back pain (NPB) Ischialgia is a pinched ischialgia nerve in the lower back area which causes the buttocks, thighs, lower legs and even feet to become tingling, painful, and sometimes causing weakness. Manipulation is a term to cover all forms of passive movement techniques used to treat musculoskeletal disorders. Manipulation techniques are passive movement techniques that are carried out quickly so that the movement is completed before the patient can prevent it. The movement that occurs should not exceed the physiological range of motion of the joint. G.D. Maitland (1997), The aim is to determine the effect of physiotherapy management on manual therapy in cases of lower back pain. Two group pre test and post test method. RESEARCH PLACE: Physiotherapy polyclinic, KRMT Wongsonegoro Hospital. TIME: Measuring instrument: Visual Analouge Scale (VAS). Results: treatment using the Mann-Whtney test. With confidence interval (CI) (95%) The results of the study revealed that there was a significant difference in pain in group 1 (p = 0.00) and group 2 (p = 0.00). But there was no significant difference between the two groups in pain improvement (p = 0.00), so there was a better effect between the two groups. Conclusion: It is concluded that manual therapy is useful in treating patients with lower back pain to reduce pain in two groups. The targeted outcome is publication in national indexed journals Sinta and HAKI. The TKT target for implementing this gamelan accompaniment exercise is level 2

Abstract

Stroke is a disease that is the third leading cause of death in the world after heart disease and cancer. Stroke is also the world's leading cause of serious and permanent disability. In the world stroke attacks occur in more than 15 million people each year. Of these 15 million people, 5 million die, and others survive, but experience permanent disability and live dependent on family and society, and a small percentage of people recover as before the stroke (WHO, 2010) to prevent the risk of excessive falls, physiotherapy has a way to prevent it through the Fukuda TEST. This study used a mix-method research design. The participants in this study were parties related to the problem of fall risk prevention, including the community around Tugurejo Semarang Hospital, local government, health cadres and community leaders. Qualitative data collection techniques used structured interview guides and observation and quantitative data in the form of Fukuda Test measurements on the community and IFI members who were present. After the data was obtained, FGD (Focus Group Discussion) was conducted with local government, health cadres and community leaders with the aim of validating the data that had been obtained. A total of 62 patients with unilateral BPPV were included in our study (35 female/27 male). The mean age was 45.3 years (range 23-67 years). Of these patients 51 (83.6%) were posterior and 11 (16.4%) were lateral canal BPPV. Two groups were created due to the FST results. Group 1 consisted of 33 (53.2%) patients with positive FST results and Group 2 consisted of 29 (46.8%) patients with negative FST results. No statistically significant differences were found between the gender and age distributions in Group 1 and Group 2, p=0.7943 and p=0.5262, respectively (Table 1). In addition, the ratio of FST positive and FST negative BPPV patients was not statistically significant. will cause daily activities to be disrupted then Qualitative data processing was carried out using the advocacy method according to the Covey and Miller advocacy framework, so as to obtain complete information related to the root causes of problems to the preparation of fall risk prevention strategies. Based on the results of data processing according to the Covey and Miller advocacy framework, the data is then analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. This research will be conducted at RSUD Tugu, Semarang City, conducted by physiotherapy in collaboration with STIKES KESDAM IV Diponegoro students.

Abstract

Growth and development is a continuous process that occurs from conception and continues until adulthood. The pre-school period is a golden age where stimulation of all aspects of development plays an important role in subsequent developmental tasks, where 80% of children's cognitive development has been achieved at pre-school age. However, in reality there are still many parents who do not understand the importance of screening and stimulating growth and development in children. Screening is carried out to detect irregularities early so that it will be easier to overcome them. Currently, the KPSP Pro application is available, which can be accessed via smartphone, which can be used by parents to carry out independent developmental screening of their respective children. The problems currently faced by partners are the minimal knowledge of parents regarding screening and stimulating growth and development in children, the lack of utilization of the facilities that are already available for conducting screening, many parents who are not open to technology, and do not understand how to access and use applications. KPSP Pro is also unable to utilize information from screening results. The solutions offered to partners are: conducting seminars for teachers and parents regarding the importance of screening and stimulating growth and development in children, informing regarding the availability of the KPSP Pro application, teaching how to access/download the KPSP Pro application, conducting roleplays, carrying out development screening using KPSP Pro and provide an understanding regarding the use of screening results. The results of this activity showed an increase in mothers' knowledge about developmental screening of preschool-age children.

Abstract

Geriatrics is a branch of gerontology that studies the level of health in the elderly from various aspects, including: promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative which includes physical, mental and social health. In principle, geriatrics strives for a happy and useful old age. Throughout the world today, the number of elderly people is estimated to be more than 629 million people, and in 2025 it is projected that the number of elderly people will reach 1.2 billion. Indonesia is a country that has a fairly high number of elderly people. In 2010 the number of elderly aged 65 years and over was 11 million, and it is projected that in 2020 the number of elderly will increase by 7.2%. Even the United States Census Bureau estimates that Indonesia will experience the largest increase in elderly citizens in the world in 2025, namely 414%. The increasing number of elderly will affect the welfare of the elderly (Ministry of Welfare of the Republic of Indonesia. 2012). The increase in the elderly population is of course accompanied by the risk of various degenerative diseases such as diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, osteoarthritis, neuromuscular disease and lung disease. Around 50-80% of elderly people aged more than 65 years will experience more than one chronic disease. This is related to the fact that the older you get, the more health problems you experience. One way to improve the quality of life for the elderly is to do physical exercise. Physical exercise can maintain or improve flexibility, cardiopulmonary endurance, agility, strength and balance.
