Abstract

The balance of trade (or net exports, sometimes symbolized as NX) is the difference between the monetary value of exports and imports of output in an economy over a certain period. It is the relationship between a nation's imports and exports. The balance of trade in agricultural sector for the period 2005-2009 should be analyzed and described to understand what challenges should be managed to achieve a better figure of agriculture development in Indonesia, particularly in livestock industri in the next 5 years period, 2010-2014. Meanwhile, it has been rescheduled that Indonesia in the year 2014 will move to the state of meat selfsufficiency, after it was missed for twice as a goal in 2005 and 2010. In this paper, the meat self suffiency 2014 also will be analyzed an explained in order to have a clear picture of the possibility achievement toward the goal at 3 (three) scenario, pessimistic, more likely, and optimistic.

Abstract

Intan Jaya Mandiri (IJM) The leather jacket is one manufacturer that produces of leather jacket. This study aims to identify the internal factors (strengths and weaknesses), identifying external factors (opportunities and threats) and formulate alternative strategy of business development. The analysis tool uses a matrix of IFE, EFE, IE, and SWOT Based on the result of the research, the total IFE score is 2,569, while the total value of EFE is 2.592. This effort is in quadrant V (maintain and maintain). Alternative strategies that can be run to expand marketing by promoting products, offering product designs/models, maintaining prices, diversifying products, improving product quality, benchmarking of successful companies in the leather industry, strengthening banking confidence, strengthening organizations and human resources. The main priority strategy based on the result is to expand marketing and promote products using social media with Summary Total Attractiveness Score (STAS) 4,039.

Abstract

“Prima Freshmart” is a specialty store whose job is to offer several products for kitchen needs, such as chicken meat, eggs, frozen food, and other food and beverages at affordable prices. This research is to find out: (1) The influence of service variable has an effect on the decision to buy beef chicken at "Prima Freshmart". (2) The effect of the product variable on the purchase decision of broiler chicken at "Prima Freshmart". (3) The effect of the price on the decision to buy chicken pieces at "Prima Freshmart". (4) The effect of promotion has an effect on purchasing decisions of chicken pieces at "Prima Freshmart". (5) The influence of location has an effect on the decision to buy chicken pieces at "Prima Freshmart". (6) Service, product, price, promotion, and location on the decision to buy chicken pieces at "Prima Freshmart". This study uses survey methods and the data analysis used is descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the relationship between service, product, promotion, price, and location on purchasing decisions is 0.827, meaning that the value of a positive relationship and the value of the coefficient of determination is 68.4% with the equation value Ŷ = 0,978-0,380X1 + 0,369X2 + 0,773X4. Variables of service, product, price, promotion, and location have a joint effect on the decision to buy chicken at "Prima Freshmart". Product, price, and promotion variables have a partial effect on the decision to purchase chicken pieces at "Prima Freshmart".

Abstract

Ornamental Fish Promotion Center is a place for ornamental fish’s sellers which are managed by the Dinas Ketahanan Pangan, Pertanian, dan Perikanan of Bekasi City. It is important for sellers to knows what influences consumers in purchasing decisions. This study aims to determine (1) influence of colour to ornamental fish purchasing decision (2) influence of shape to ornamental fish purchasing decision (3) influence of fish care to ornamental fish purchasing decision (4) influence of feeding to ornamental fish purchasing decision (5) influence of life to ornamental fish purchasing decision This study uses survey methods and data analysis used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that color had an effect on the purchase decision of ornamental fish, shape had an effect, maintenance had an effect, feed had no effect on the purchase decision on ornamental fish, and vitality had an effect on the purchase decision on ornamental fish. Variables of color, shape, maintenance, feed, and vitality together influence the decision to buy ornamental fish at the Ornamental Fish Promotion Center in Bekasi City.

Abstract

The production process in baking industry should be carefully managed, by identifying and handling the major of risks that could lead to failures of final products. This study was conducted to identify the major of risks on production process in The Orchard Bakery, located in Purwakarta Regency, West Java. Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and pareto diagram were used to examine the major sources of risk that would impact on the quality of bread produced. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a method that systematically done to identify potential problems, or failures and their resulting effects on production process. In this method, Risk Priority Numbers (RPN) were measured and calculated based on past experiences and judgements to rate each potential problems, by rating 3 (three) aspects on the risks: severity, occurrence, and detection. The results of this study find 6 (six) sources of risk with high RPN values, as a pareto chart indicates that their cumulative impacts totalled 80%, namely: packaging (19%), dough making (16%), baking (16%), proofing (13%), handling quality of final products (9%), and selection of main and supporting ingredients (7%).

Abstract

Fattening beef cattle is one of the agribusiness ventures with quite promising long-term opportunities and attracts the interest of many actors to try it, thus triggering quite tight competition. One of the beef cattle fattening business actors is PT Bintang Adya Farm. This study aims to (1) Identify internal and external factors found in the beef cattle fattening business, (2) Compile alternative strategies for developing the beef cattle fattening business of PT Bintang Adya Farm, (3) Determine the priority of beef cattle fattening strategies at PT Bintang Adya Farm. The research method used is a descriptive method with SWOT analysis and QSPM analysis. The results of the study found five weaknesses and five strengths as well as four opportunities and threats at PT Bintang Adya Farm. The results of the interaction of internal and external factors in the SWOT matrix produced six business development strategies with strategic priorities, namely independent business development planning by cultivating young cattle

Abstract

This study aims to (1) identify internal factors, which include strengths and weaknesses in the marketing aspects run by CV Berkah Bersama Sejahtera company; (2) Identify external factors, which include threats and opportunities in the marketing aspect carried out by the CV Berkah Bersama Sejahtera company; and (3) Formulating a relevant and effective marketing strategy for CV Berkah Bersama Sejahtera. The method used in this research is a case or field research method. Information and data related to the internal and external environment evaluation are processed using SWOT analysis to determine which strategy is chosen, and then QSPM analysis is used. The results show the mapping of IFE and EFE matrices: directing alternative strategies in the growth and development section. Alternative strategies in the growing section include integration strategies (backwards, forward, and horizontal), and alternative strategies in the building section are intensive strategies are (a) conducting managerial development and independent business development planning efforts to develop feeder cattle cultivation and approaches to local communities in supporting business sustainability and development; (b) utilising the facilitation of government and local government policies, to develop good farming practices (GFP) and capital for business development. The other three strategies based on STAS in QSPM are part of the proposed marketing mix strategy.

Abstract

This study examines the determinants of knowledge-sharing behavior among faculty, focusing on the role of organizational support. It contributes to knowledge management literature by clarifying how organizational support translates into knowledge-sharing through individual initiative and technological capability in academic settings. Using a quantitative explanatory design, data from 150 faculty members were analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling. The findings show that organizational support significantly enhances individual initiative, technological capability, and knowledge-sharing behavior, while individual initiative partially mediates this relationship. Technological capability also directly strengthens knowledge-sharing practices. These results position organizational support as a foundational driver that operates through both human and technological mechanisms. The study implies that higher education institutions should strengthen support systems, invest in technological infrastructure, and foster proactive individual initiatives to sustain effective knowledge-sharing cultures.

Abstract

This article explains on how effective performance management and employee engagement are likely to have an important and unique influence on high employee performance. The result shows that effective performance management has directly and indirectly influence on employee performance and directly influence employee engagement, it also was proved that employee engagement has directly influence on employee performance. Then, to produce some employee performance increments may be best achieved by integrating employee engagement to the performance management system at the organization. Employees who are engaged in their work and committed to their organizations give companies crucial competitive advantages, including higher productivity and lower employee turnover. To this end, a new approach is introduced to the performance management process that includes employee engagement and the key drivers of employee engagement at each stage of performance management.

Abstract

Perkembangan implementasi KM (“knowledge management”) di Indonesia bervariasi, situasi itu dapat disimak tingkat perbedaan implementasi KM di perusahaan swasta (baik swasta asing yang beroperasi di pelbagai negara maupun swasta lokal), organisasi publik, dan lembaga pendidikan. Berdasarkan hasil survey yang dilakukan pada akhir Tahun 2007 ternyata adopsi KM di Indonesia lebih banyak diprakarsai oleh perusahaan swasta asing (30-35) terutama “multi national companies ”, diikuti kemudian oleh swasta lokal (15-20) terutama BUMN, lembaga pendidikan tinggi (15), dan organisasi publik (4-5) terutama pada tingkat pusat dan departemen. Implementasi KM di lingkungan perguruan tinggi (PT) juga masih rendah, walaupun demikian sudah ada kelompok-kelompok akademisi yang berinisiatif untuk melakukan kegiatan promosi KM melalui: seminar/konferensi untuk mengenal dan memahami konsep KM, mengadopsi konsep KM pada materi kuliah/kurikulum, memperkenalkan jenis riset tentang KM kepada mahasiswa, membuat web atau blog tentang KM, membentuk asosiasi KM, dll. Sementara itu implementasi KM di UNISMA juga masih berbentuk insiatif dari kelompok dosen yang berminat pada KM, secara umum saat ini perkembangan implementasi KM di UNISMA, baru memasuki tahapan awal dan advokasi.
