Abstract

The Board of National Accreditation Body for Higher Education) evaluates the performance of a study program. This compels it to improve and maintain its performance. The process of accreditation involves several steps, one of which is the completion of accreditation documents by the study program. The completion requires data from various sources, both from the study program and the institution. However, the data required are often not recorded properly and kept by different sources. As a result, it takes longer time to complete the arrangement. Moreover, inconsistent data format becomes another factor which holds back this process. The application of fuzzy inference system, as used by Kesatuan Business and Informatics Institute, as in the above case can result in a better scoring in which each component is assessed and it will yield the prediction of the expected accreditation status before it is submitted to BAN-PT. This research aims to develop a web based accreditation system with fuzzy inference system and construct a prediction of score ad accreditation status in IBI Kesatuan, using 4 variables of input assessment criteria, namely: external condition, institutional profile, criteria and analysis, and development program decision. The resulting output is the status of non- accredited, good accredited, excellent accredited, and superior accredited. There are 4 phases in the methods: problem identification, needs and system analysis, system design, system implementation and testing system. The result of blackbox test show that 8 features can operate well. The features consist of criteria menu, indicator menu, date user, LKPS data, LED data, LKPS and LED assessment input, recapitulation and conclusion. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that accreditation system can be applied to predict the scores and accreditation status of information system study program of IBI Kesatuan. Abstract

One of the challenges of exporting Arumanis mangoes is their accurate grading ability because the mangoes do not change color during ripening. Near-Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is a non-destructive method for detecting the internal ripeness of fruit which is quite reliable. However, NIR absorbance bands are often nonspecific, extensive, and overlapping. Although SVM modeling is quite good in performance, it can still be improved by spectral transformation. In this study, 11 spectral transformation operations were compared with their combinations to find the best input model. Spectral transformation operations include SAVGOL, RNV, BASELINE, MSC, EMSC, NORML, CLIP, RESAMPLE, DETREND, SNV, and LSNV. In the 2 class classification model, the highest accuracy is obtained using RNV and SAVGOL. The prediction model for SSC content with the best MSE value uses 3 combinations of spectral transformation operations, namely DETREND, LSNV, and SAVGOL with parameter values: 'deriv_order': 0, 'filter_win': 31, 'poly_order': 6. As for the prediction model of mango hardness with The best MSE value uses 2 combinations of spectral transformation operations, namely LSNV and SAVGOL with parameter values: deriv_order ': 0,' filter_win ': 15,' poly_order ': 6.

Abstract

The need for air pollutant monitoring system is very substantial especially in the developing countries such as Indonesia. In this research, we have performed a test of such system for carbon monoxide gas based on wireless sensor network (WSN) using ZigBee. This system is working with a mesh topology where each sensor node can communicate with one another. There are seven nodes that serve as sensor nodes and one node serving as Coordinator. Each sensor node has five components that represent of gas sensors. We measure three performance metrics during the test, i.e. throughput, delay, and packet loss. The system has been successfully implemented which is capable of displaying information in real time. The experiment resulted in an average carbon monoxide value of 25.1 ppm and showed a good performance. It showed a throughput more than 1.017 kbps, delay and packet loss ratio less than 409 ms and 5 %, respectively.

Abstract

Metagenome is a combination of several microorganisms collected from the environment. In metagenome analysis, it is required binning for grouping metagenome fragment yielded by sequencer. This research used the composition approach for conducting metagenome fragment binning. In this approach, binning could be implemented using unsupervised or supervised learning. We used Self-Organizing Map (SOM) for conducting binning used on unsupervised learning. We compared two techniques of training in SOM, namely sequential training and batch training for finding the best techniques. The results showed that the batch training could obtain 3.8% error valued on the map of [10 15]. This error value is smaller than that of sequential training. DOI:  http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i3.7115

Abstract

Multiple sequence alignment (MSA) is a technique for finding similarity in many sequences. This technique is very important to support many Bioinformatics task such as identifying Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) and metagenome fragments binning. The simplest algorithm in MSA is Star Algorithm. The complexity of DNA multiple sequence alignment using dynamic programming technique is very high. This research aims to accelerate computation of Star Mutiple Sequence Alignment using Message Passing Interfaces (MPI). The performance of the proposed method was evaluated by calculating speedup. Experiment was conducted using 64 sequences of 800 bp Glycine-max-chromosome-9-BBI fragments yielded by randomly cut from reference sequence of Glycine-max-chromosome-9-BBI taken from NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information). The results showed that the proposed technique could obtain speedup three times using five computers when aligning 64 sequences of Glycine-max-chromosome-9-BBI fragments.  Moreover, the increasing of the number of computers would significantly increased speedup of the proposed. http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i12.6572

Abstract

Conventional weed control system is usually used by spraying herbicides uniformly throughout the land. Excessive use of herbicides on an ongoing basis can produce chemical waste that is harmful to plants and soil. The application of precision agriculture farming in the detection process in order to control weeds using Computer Vision On Farm becomes interesting, but it still has some problems due to computer size and power consumption. Raspberry Pi is one of the minicomputer with low price and low power consumption. Having computing like a desktop computer with the open source Linux operating system can be used for image processing and weed fractal dimension processing using OpenCV library and C programming. This research results the best fractal computation time when performing the image with dimension size of 128 x 128 pixels. It is about 7 milliseconds. Furthermore, the average speed ratio between personal computer and Raspberry Pi is 0.04 times faster. The use of Raspberry Pi is cost and power consumption efficient compared to personal computer.
