Abstract

This study aims to (1) Increase community income which fluctuates after the Covid-19 pandemic through the provision of goat livestock assistance, (2) Provide knowledge to the community, especially breeders related to good livestock management, and (3) Provide understanding to the community in Olak Kemang Village in improving the potential quality of agricultural waste as goat feed. The method used is a descriptive and quantitative approach. A descriptive approach was taken to provide an overview of the conditions in Olak Kemang Village supported by field data related to counseling and socialization of livestock rearing management, training on processing agricultural waste as animal feed. The quantitative approach uses an investment analysis of the feasibility of the goat farming business and the socio-economic conditions of the community. The results of this activity show that quantitatively, the calculation of investment analysis and business feasibility can be described that the goat farming business provides a profit of Rp. 30,210,000 so that the average monthly income for each family head is Rp. 359,643. With a partner's level of satisfaction with this activity is more than 80%.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggantian rumput gajah dengan solid ex-decanter dalam ransum ternak sapi potong terhadap produksi gas total dan karakteristik fermentasi rumen secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 6 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dievaluasi terdiri dari P1 = 100% Rumput Gajah, P2 = 80% Rumput Gajah: 20 % Solid Ex-Decanter, P3 = 60% Rumput Gajah : 40% Solid Ex-Decanter, P4 = 40% Rumput Gajah : 60% Solid Ex-Decanter, P5 = 20% Rumput Gajah: 70% Solid Ex-Decanter, P6 = 100% Solid Ex-Decanter. Sampel digiling dan disaring dengan alat penyaring ukuran 1 mm. Sebanyak 1 g sampel dari tiap perlakuan diinkubasi dengan larutan anaerobik medium (8 ml cairan rumen + 32 ml Mcdoughall) pada suhu 39oC selama 48 jam. Pada akhir periode inkubasi,  residu dipisahkan menggunakan sentrifuge sehingga terpisah antara supernatant dan residu. Supernatant digunakan untuk analisis VFA, NH3 dan pH. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukan bahwa level solid ex-decanter perlakuan P1-P6 berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap produksi gas total, konsentrasi VFA dan konsentrasi NH3 namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap pH.. Hasil uji polynomial orthogonal dari produksi gas total, VFA dan NH3 diperoleh hubungan  Y = -0,394x + 140,65; Y = -0,2417x + 89,292; Y = -0,0239x + 4,3262.  Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan solid ex-decanter pada taraf 100% tidak dapat menggantikan rumput gajah, penggunaan solid ex-decanter dapat menggantikan rumput gajah pada taraf 20%.Influence Replacement Pennisetum Purpureum with Solid Ex-Decanter in Beef Cattle  Fed on In vitro Rumen Fermentation Characteristic ABSTRACT. The study aimed to determine the effect of replacing elephant grass with solid ex-decanter in beef cattle fed on total gas production and  the characteristics of rumen fermentation in vitro. This study used a complete randomized design with 6 treatments of 3 repeats. The treatment consists of P1 = 100% Elephant Grass, P2 = 80% Elephant Grass: 20 % Solid Ex-Decanter, P3 = 60% Elephant Grass : 40% Solid Ex-Decanter, P4 = 40% Elephant Grass : 60% Solid Ex-Decanter, P5 = 20% Elephant Grass: 70% Solid Ex-Decanter, P6 = 100% Solid Ex-Decanter. The sample is ground and filtered with a filter tool size of 1 mm. A total of 1 g of samples from each treatment were incubated with a medium anaerobic solution at a temperature of 39oC for 48 hours. At the end of the incubation period, the residues were separated using centrifuge so that they separated between the supernatant and the residue, a supernatant solution was used to calculate VFA, NH3 and pH. The results of the variety analysis showed that the solid ex-decanter level of P1-P6 treatment had a very significantly effect (P<0.01) on total gas production, VFA concentration and NH3  concentration but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on pH. The orthogonal polynomial result showed that there is a linear relationship between total gas production, VFA and NH3 with the equation Y = -0,394x + 140,65; Y = -0,2417x + 89,292; Y = -0,0239x + 4,3262.  It was concluded that the use of solid ex-decanter at the level of 100% cannot replace elephant grass, the use of solid ex-decanter can replace elephant grass at the level of 20%.Keywords : Rumen fermentation, solid level, in vitro.

Abstract

This activity aims to provide education to farmers in Sungai Langka Village, Pesawaran Regency regarding health care for ruminants. The main target of this activity is the etawa breeder in Sungai Langka Village. The activity method is carried out in monologue and practice. The activity began with presentation, how to identify symptoms of livestock diseases and how to handle it. Based on the results of the activities that have been carried out, farmers are very enthusiastic about the socialization material provided. This was proven by the active role of the participants, especially farmers, in the discussion session regarding how to handle livestock health which is commonly found in PE goats. After socialization are held, farmers gain knowledge about how to handle common diseases and able to apply disease control in the field. The results of this activity are expected to minimize the number of livestock deaths due to disease and the number of livestock affected by the disease can be handled properly. Decreasing diseases will contribute to increasing the productivity of ruminants, especially PE goats in Sungai Langka Village.

Abstract

The role of education in higher education is very important to prepare students to become individuals who have the ability to be able to develop themselves further. Based on the results of a field survey, data on students who continue their tertiary education in Langkaplancar Village are still lacking, and their motivation to continue on to tertiary education is still low. The reality is that currently in Langkaplancar Village there are many high school graduates/equivalents who decide not to continue their education at tertiary institutions, some choose to work or even become unemployed, due to economic factors and lack of motivation. One of the efforts made to solve this problem is holding an Education Motivation Training Seminar. The purpose of this activity is to increase student motivation to continue their studies at tertiary institutions and to raise awareness of all parties, especially parents, in providing support for children to continue on to tertiary institutions. The results of this community service activity are (1) Socialization and coordination with related elements (2) Implementation of activities and (3) Responses of the Village Government, School Principals, Teachers and Parents to activities.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh autoklaf dan kombinasi perlakuan urea dan autoklaf terhadap kandungan nutrisi dan degradasi bahan kering (DBK), bahan organik (DBO), serat kasar (DSK), keambaan dan produksi gas pelepah sawit (PS). Percobaan dilakukan dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, dimana P1: PS, P2: PS + autoklaf, P3: PS + 2,5% urea + autoklaf, P4: PS + 5% urea + autoklaf, P5: PS + 7,5% urea + autoklaf. Sampel dari masing-masing perlakuan dianalisis kandungan bahan kering (BK), bahan organik (BO) dan serat kasar (SK), serta pengukuran keambaan. Sebanyak 1 g dari setiap perlakuan diinkubasi dalam cairan rumen+buffer pada suhu 39ᵒC selama 72 jam. Produksi gas tercatat pada periode inkubasi 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 jam. Pada akhir masa inkubasi, fermentasi dihentikan dengan menambahkan 1-2 tetes HgCl2 dan residu diambil dan digunakan untuk mengukur DBK, DBO dan DSK. Data dianalisis secara statistic dengan ANOVA diikuti dengan analisis kontras orthogonal dan regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan autoklaf menurunkan SK, sedangkan perlakuan kombinasi gagal menurunkan SK. Analisis ragam menunjukkan perlakuan mempengaruhi (p<0,01) DBK, DBO, DSK, keambaan dan produksi gas PS. Analisis kontras orthogonal menunjukkan perlakuan autoklaf meningkatkan (p<0,01) DBK, DBO, DSK dan keambaan. Analisis regresi menunjukkan hubungan linier positif antara kadar urea pada perlakuan autoklaf untuk DSK dan keambaan, tetapi hubungan linier negative untuk DBK dan DBO. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah perlakuan autoklaf menurunkan SK dan keambaan tetapi meningkatkan DBK, DBO dan DSK. Keambaan dan DSK dari PS dengan perlakuan autoklaf meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan kadar urea, sedangkan DBK dan DBO menurun. Kombinasi autoklaf dan 2,5%-7,5% urea belum dapat meningkatkan produksi gas secara signifikan.
