Abstract

The research aims to describe the relationship of students' activities, responses, and cognitive learning outcomes in natural science learning based ethno-STEM in secondary school. Research methods use quantitative approaches with this type of correlation research. The population and research sample are class VIII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Tulangan Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and documentation. Questionnaires are used to determine students' activities and responses during natural science learning based ethno-STEM. Documentation in the form of documented student learning test results. In the study results test used cognitive learning results that refer to Bloom's C4 taxonomy, namely analytical thinking skills. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics that use SPSS-assisted product-moment correlation tests. The results showed that in the implementation of natural science learning based ethno-STEM there was a weak relationship between: 1) there is an activity relationship to students' cognitive learning outcomes with a contribution of 0.2%, 2) there is a response relationship to student cognitive learning outcomes with a contribution of 0.9%, and 3) there is a relationship of activity and response to student cognitive learning outcomes with a contribution of 1%. There are allegations that other variables also affect students' cognitive learning outcomes, these variables need to be revealed through further.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the learning tools used by teachers in learning the Concept Attainment Model in Class V SDI Raudlatul Jannah. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were the principal, class teacher, and students of V B SDI Raudlatul Jannah. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the class V B teachers have carried out science learning on water cycle materials using CAM (Concept Attainment Model) oriented learning tools. The benefits of implementing learning with the Concept Attainment Model are that students play an active role in learning so that they can obtain information based on their experiences. Assessment techniques used by teachers are written tests, group work and assignments. Highlights: The effectiveness of Concept Attainment Model: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Concept Attainment Model in teaching science, specifically the water cycle, to fifth-grade students. Learning tools and techniques: The research highlights the use of learning tools, such as observation, interviews, and documentation, along with assessment techniques like written tests, group work, and assignments. Active role of students: The Concept Attainment Model promotes active learning, allowing students to actively engage in the learning process and acquire knowledge based on their experiences. Abstract

This experimental quantitative study investigates the impact of the Project Based Learning (PBL) model on science learning outcomes among fourth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Krian. The research addresses the lack of innovation by educators in learning implementation, resulting in limited student engagement and poor learning outcomes. The study follows a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, with class 4 Al - Aziz (20 students) as the control group and class 4 Al - Jabbar (20 students) as the experimental group. Cognitive abilities and learning outcomes were measured using a test, and data analysis was conducted using the t-test. The results, obtained through the t-test Paired Sample T Test in SPSS v.24, revealed a significant effect of the Project Based Learning model on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade science students at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Krian (p < 0.05, sig. 2-Tailed = 0.000). This finding supports the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1). The implication of this research suggests that implementing the Project Based Learning model can enhance science learning outcomes for fourth-grade students, thereby addressing the issue of limited student involvement in learning activities. Highlights: Project Based Learning improves science learning outcomes: The research demonstrates that implementing the Project Based Learning model positively impacts the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in science. Addressing the lack of student engagement in learning: The study emphasizes the importance of addressing the issue of low student involvement in learning activities by introducing innovative approaches such as Project Based Learning. Experimental study design: The research follows a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, allowing for a comparison between the control group and the experimental group to evaluate the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning model. Abstract

This study aims to improve science learning outcomes for grade IV students of SDIT Ainul Yaqin using the mind mapping method. Furthermore, this study aims to determine how much influence the mind mapping method has on the science learning outcomes of grade IV students. This study uses experimental quantitative method with One-Group Pretest-Posttest. Based on the results of the N-gain scores, as many as 8 students experienced an increase in their learning outcomes. A total of 5 students experienced an increase in grades in the high category and as many as 3 students in the medium category.With a percentage of 62.5% increase in learning outcomes in the high category and 37.5% increase in learning outcomes in the medium category. The conclusion that applying the mind mapping method in science learning on theme 7 sub-theme 1 can improve science learning outcomes for grade IV students of SDIT Ainul Yaqin. Highlights: The mind mapping method significantly improved science learning outcomes for grade IV students at SDIT Ainul Yaqin. The majority of students showed an increase in learning outcomes, with 62.5% in the high category and 37.5% in the medium category. The study employed an experimental quantitative method, specifically the One-Group Pretest-Posttest design, to assess the impact of the mind mapping method. Abstract

This quantitative experimental study aims to investigate the effect of the cooperative learning model on science learning outcomes for fourth-grade elementary school students. Using a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design, the research involved 16 students in the control class (IV-A) and 16 students in the experimental class (IV-B). Pre- and post-tests consisting of cognitive questions were conducted to collect data. The t-test and effect size analysis were employed to determine the influence of the cooperative learning model on science learning outcomes. The results revealed a significant effect of the cooperative learning model on science learning outcomes for fourth-grade students. Furthermore, the effect size calculation indicated a large effect, suggesting the substantial impact of the cooperative learning model. This study highlights the potential of cooperative learning in enhancing science education and provides implications for educators to adopt effective instructional strategies to improve learning outcomes. Abstract

This experimental quantitative study investigates the impact of guided inquiry learning on the learning outcomes of students in class VA at SDN Katerungan Krian. Employing a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, the research aims to describe and analyze the level of influence of guided inquiry learning. The study population comprises 30 students, and the instrument utilized is a student learning outcomes test sheet. The calculated t-value of 10.624 exceeds the critical t-value of 2.048, signifying a significant influence. Furthermore, the eta squared test yields a value of 0.068, suggesting a moderate effect size (η² = 0.119). Consequently, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry learning model significantly impacts the science learning outcomes of class VA students. These findings have important implications for science education, emphasizing the efficacy of guided inquiry methods in enhancing student learning outcomes. Highlights: Guided inquiry learning positively influences student learning outcomes in science. Experimental quantitative research design reveals the impact of guided inquiry learning on student performance. The findings emphasize the importance of incorporating guided inquiry methods in elementary science education. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMP dalam mata pelajaran IPA. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pre expereimental dengan desain penelitian one group pretest and posttest design yaitu menggunakan satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol di SMP Negeri 2 Bangil Pasuruan. Populasi penelitian siswa kelas VIII sejumlah 281 siswa, dengan Teknik sampling secara convenience sampling dengan kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. Instrumen penelitian dengan soal uraian keterampilan berpikir kritis. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji N-Gain dan uji-t paired sample t-test. Hasil rata-rata skor N-Gain kedua kelas mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori sedang dan hasil uji-t menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPA di kelas VIII SMP. Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat mengungkap fakta alas an tidak terjadi peningkatan dengan kategori tinggi atau penelitian dengan menambah jumlah sampel replikasi sehingga analisis yang dilakukan akan lebih mendalam. Kata kunci—Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, IPA, SMP ABSTRACT The research aims to describe the increase in students' critical thinking skills and describe the effect of problem-based learning models on secondary school students' critical thinking skills in natural science subjects. The research used was a quantitative study with a weak-experimental research design with a one group pretest and posttest design, namely using one experimental class and one control class at SMP Negeri 2 Bangil Pasuruan. The research population for 8th grade at students was 281 students, using a convenience sampling technique with 8th-A grade as the experimental class. Data collection techniques using tests. Research instrument with a description of critical thinking skills. Data analysis techniques used the N-Gain test and paired sample t-test. The results of the average N-Gain score for both classes increased to the moderate category and the results of the t-test showed that there was an effect of the problem-based learning model on students' critical thinking skills in natural science subjects in 8th grade secondary school. Future research is expected to reveal the fact that unfortunately there was no increase in the high category or research by increasing the number of reflection samples so that the analysis carried out would be more in-depth. Abstract

Kondisi pandemi covid-19 saat ini, menuntut guru untuk cermat dalam memilih strategi pembelajaran. Selain mudah diimplementasikan, juga efektif dalam penerapannya. Strategi pembelajaran yang menggunakan kearifan lokal yang terintegrasi dengan sains, teknologi, enginering, dan matematika tepat untuk dipilih. Tujuan kegiatan abdimas ini adalah mendampingi guru IPA di SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Tulangan Sidoarjo untuk mengimplementasikan perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis etno-STEM. Guru IPA yang didampingi sejumlah 3 orang yang mengajar di kelas VII, VIII, IX masing-masing jenjang ada 3 kelas, dengan 1 orang guru yang melakukan implementasi di kelas VIII. Kegiatan ini dimulai dari pengembangan perangkat, implementasi perangkat, dan evaluasi perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis etno-STEM. Pada kegiatan pengembangan perangkat, dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan meskipun melalui beberapa tahapan revisi. Pada tahap implementasi, guru dinyatakan mampu mengelola kelas dengan kategori baik, dengan kendala-kendala yang dapat diatasi sehingga tidak mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran, hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 0,6 artinya peningkatannya sedang. Pada kegiatan evaluasi perangkat pembelajaran, perlu dikaji kembali sesuai kendala-kendala yang ditemui pada saat implementasi sehingga diharapkan peningkatan hasil belajar dengan kategori besar. Kegiatan selanjutnya dapat dilakukan dengan pendampingan guru dalam pengimbasan implementasi perangkat pebelajaran IPA berbasis etno-STEM di kelas yang lain dengan materi yang berbeda.

Abstract

Praktikum atau percobaan merupakan bagian penting dalam pembelajaran IPA. Hal ini juga tidak kalah pentingnya untuk mata pelajaran matematika yaitu untuk simulasi dalam pemahaman konsep matematis yang disampaikan, sebagai bahan untuk latihan lanjutan. Sering kali sekolah mempunyai keterbatasan dalam alat dan bahan untuk kegiatan praktikum, sehingga kegiatan praktikum ditiadakan. Tidak ada alasan untuk tidak melakukan kegiatan praktikum, karena ada laboratorium virtual sebagai upaya pemanfaatan Information Communication Technology (ICT). Laboratorium virtual menggunakan PhET Interactive Simulations. Berdasarkan hasil angket respons guru IPA dan matematika diperoleh: 1) pelatihan yang dilakukan sesuai dengan kondisi saat ini, yaitu kondisi kegiatan belajar dari rumah (Pandemi Covid-19), tidak ada yang tidak mungkin bahwa kegiatan praktikum IPA/ Matematika harus tetap berjalan meski dengan laboratorium virtual baik online maupun offline; 2) guru IPA dan Matematika semangat dalam mengikuti pelatihan, selain dengan antusias dan semangat serta memberikan reaksi positif dengan kesanggupan dalam mengimplementasikan laboratorium virtual pada mata pelajaran yang diajarkan, 3) materi hand out dan daftar aplikasi PhET yang sesuai dengan Kurikulum 2013 pada kompetensi IPA dan Matematika SMP serta bahan ajar untuk implementasi PhET telah membantu guru dalam memahami pelatihan yang disampaikan.

Abstract

Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan lingkungan belajar dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar IPA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah non eksperimen dengan jenis penelitian kuantitatif korelasional. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket dan dokumentasi. Sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik jenuh, dengan menggunakan sampel siswa kelas IX MTs Nurul Islam Ngadimulyo berjumlah 31 siswa. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil analisis statistik deskriptif persepsi siswa tentang lingkungan belajar dengan berkategori tinggi (52%), motivasi belajar dengan kategori tinggi (70%) dan hasil belajar dengan nilai (80%) kategoti tuntas. Pada analisis statistik inferensial menghasilkan hasil regresi berganda sebesar 0,006 < 0,05 dibandingkan dengan nilai Fhitung sebesar 14,698 > Ftabel 3,23. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ada hubungan persepsi siswa tentang lingkungan belajar terhadap hasil belajar, ada hubungan antara motivasi belajar dan lingkungan belajar terhadap hasil belajar.
