Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Japanese comic strip media on students' writing skills. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest and posttest experimental design. The study was conducted in two classes (60 students) who received writing courses in the even semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. The data collection process used documents, observations and tests. The data analysis technique used a two-sample paired t-test. The test results showed t-stat <t-table (-49.4457 <2.0009), meaning that the use of Japanese comic strip media had a significant effect on students' Japanese writing skills. The pre-test results concluded that the high error rate was in the aspects of organization, logical development of ideas and grammar. However, the post-test results showed that the error rate was very small and below 30%. The results of the study have implications for the development of comic strip media as a tool for learning to write Japanese and students have also become familiar with Japanese culture from stories in comics

Abstract

Abstract The high unemployment rate in Indonesia is widely discussed. One solution that can be offered is to provide information about work opportunities abroad, especially in Japan. There are many benefits, in addition to wages that are much higher than wages in the country, the experience of living and getting to know the local culture is an added value if you have the opportunity to work in Japan. The abundant productive age in Indonesia, including high school graduates, is the initial phase that allows them to enter the workforce. However, one of the obstacles to being able to work in Japan is mastery of Japanese. To be able to work in Japan, language skills must be at least level 5 JLPT. Community Service Activities (P2M) in the Faculty's Outstanding Guidance Area (WBUF FBS) scheme are present as a form of contribution to handling problems in society according to needs. This P2M activity was carried out from July 26 to August 30, 2024. The training was carried out both offline and online. The results of the training had a positive impact, as shown by the increase in students' JLPT Level 5 ability scores, and the results of the questionnaire showed that the implementation of the training motivated and helped understand the test preparation material. In addition, problems faced by students in mastering kana reading were identified. This is input for the implementation of the next community service activities.Keywords: Training, JLPT Level 5, Career, JapaneseAbstrakTingginya angka pengangguran di Indonesia banyak dibahas. Salah satu solusi yang dapat ditawarkan adalah dengan menginformasikan peluang bekerja di luar negeri khususnya di Jepang. Banyak keuntungan yang didapat, selain upah jauh lebih tinggi dibanding upah di dalam negeri, pengalaman tinggal dan mengenal budaya setempat menjadi nilai tambah bila berkesempatan bekerja di Jepang. Usia produktif di Indonesia yang melimpah, diantaranya lulusan SLTA merupakan fase awal yang dimungkinkan dapat memasuki dunia kerja. Tetapi salah satu hambatan untuk dapat bekerja di Jepang diantaranya adalah penguasaan bahasa Jepang. Untuk dapat bekerja di Jepang, kemampuan berbahasa minimal pada level 5 JLPT. Kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (P2M) dalam skema wilayah Bianaan Unggulan Fakultas (WBUF FBS) ini hadir sebagai bentuk kontribusi penanganan permasalahan di masyarakat sesuai kebutuhan. Kegiatan P2M ini dilaksanakan dari tanggal 26 Juli sampai 30 Agustus 2024. Pelatihan dilaksanakan baik secara luring maupun Daring. Hasil pelatihan berdampak positif ditunjukan dengan peningkatan skor kemampuan JLPT Level 5 siswa, dan hasil angket diketahui bahwa pelaksanaan pelatihan memotivasi dan membantu pemahaman materi persiapan tes. Selain itu teridentifikasi permasalahan yang dihadapi siswa dalam penguasaan membaca kana. Hal ini menjadi masukan untuk pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian berikutnya.Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, JLPT Level 5, Berkarier, Jepang

Abstract

Currently, Japan's free market and industrial economy is the third largest in the world after the United States and China, in terms of international purchasing power variations. The Japanese economy is made up of all the elements that make up a modern economy: industry, trade and agriculture. Good relations with various countries are one of the factors that help expedite foreign trade. One of them that is being intensively reviewed by the Japanese government is the halal market in Japan which has experienced quite significant developments in recent years. The Japanese government is motivated to advance the halal market by increasing the halal industry and halal tourism because Muslim tourists from all over the world are starting to flock to Japan. The seriousness of the Japanese government in the halal market is marked by the provision of halal-certified products that attract Muslim tourists from all over the world. Japan is also paying attention to the application of sharia principles in the field of tourism, including halal food with halal standards. The desire to prepare many halal restaurants was also driven by Japan's election as host for the world sporting event, the 2020 Olympics.

Abstract

Popular Japanese pop culture is widely loved by students in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the use of popular pop culture by students while studying the Japanese language and culture. This study uses a qualitative research design with a qualitative descriptive method. The study was conducted at the Japanese Language and Culture Study Program at Darma Persada University, Jakarta, in the odd academic year 2024/2025 from September to December 2024. The subjects of the study were 100 people, consisting of 50 men and 50 women. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observations and forum group discussions. Data analysis techniques have three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and inference drawing and verification. The study’s findings revealed that popular pop culture that is widely loved by students to learn Japanese culture and language is anime/cartoons and manga/comics. The background knowledge of students about Japanese popular culture has a significant influence on the choice of types of Japanese pop culture and can be used as authentic material in class. Popular language pop culture has an important role in the concept of building a learning environment that is under the character of the language culture. The results of the study can recommend to lecturers to research the development of authentic teaching materials from various types of popular Japanese pop culture.

Abstract

Partikel akhir penanda gender wanita adalah partikel yang biasanya digunakan di akhir kalimat oleh kebanyakan kaum wanita dalam tuturan Bahasa Jepang. Hal ini untuk menunjukkan sifat feminin atau kelembutan wanita, yang membedakan dengan penutur pria. Ada banyak partikel akhir penanda gender wanita dalam tuturan Bahasa Jepang, namun partikel yang sering muncul dalam penggunaan penanda gender wanita adalah partikel wa. Partikel wa yang dituturkan memiliki banyak makna sesuai dengan situasi dan fungsinya. Adakalanya partikel akhir wa ini juga menunjukkan level social dan identitas diri dari penuturnya. Namun seiring berjalannya waktu penggunaan partikel wa ini mengalami pergeseran fungsi, makna dan situasi pengguna. Ketika partikel akhir wa dituturkan oleh pria, maka beberapa hal ini akan terjadi seperti perubahan situasi tutur, perubahan makna tutur, perubahan tujuan tutur, perubahan status social penutur dan perubahan kondisi kejiwaan penutur. Dengan mengacu pada teori John Searlepada tindak tutur ilokusi maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat proses pengalihan partikel akhir wa penanda gender wanita kepada pria. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis isi, yakni menganalisa perubahan setiap tuturan dengan penanda gender wanita oleh partikel akhir wa. Selanjutnya dapat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penutur pria menggunakan partikel akhir penanda gender wanita dalam bentuk tuturan ekspresif, asertif, komisif, direktif dan tidak ditemukan pemakaian partikel akhir penanda gender wanita dalam bentuk tuturan deklaratif. Motif penutur pria menggunakan partikel akhir penanda gender wanita bukan untuk menunjukkan feminitas namun untuk menjaga hubungan dengan lawan tutur serta membangun keakraban dengan lawan tutur.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain the effectiveness of the use of OER on Japanese writing skills. The research method uses a quantitative experimental approach with one pretest and posttest design. The design of this experimental method is quasi-experimental. The research was conducted in a writing class for the 2021-2022 academic year in the Japanese Language and Culture study program at a private university in Jakarta. The participants involved were students in a Japanese writing class of 50 students. So, the data is taken from observation and tests. The data analysis technique uses the t-test: Two-Pair Sample for the Mean. The results of the study concluded that t stat < t-table (-27.1284 < 2.0009). It can be said that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. It means that OER is effective for use in writing classes. It gave an impact on developing story ideas. The results of this study have implications for teachers that learning resources are varied and utilized through internet access.
