Abstract

The rapid development of development programs in Indonesia, including in the industrial sector, has brought both positive and negative effects. One of the negative effects is environmental pollution, workplace accidents, and occupational diseases, which are caused by an imbalance between progress and the level of awareness regarding occupational safety and health. To ensure comfort and safety in the workplace, a strong work culture is essential. Various methods and tools are used to improve business quality and productivity. One of the most common approaches is the hierarchy of controls, which includes elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).The leather industry company CV. Sinar Brahma Rasyid in Garut faces several occupational safety issues. A total of 33 workplace accidents occurred in 2021, 44 in 2022, and 59 in 2023. In response to these issues, the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method and the hierarchy of controls were used to identify potential hazards and risks, followed by the implementation of control measures.The aim of this study is to identify the factors contributing to workplace accidents, assess risks, and provide recommendations for improvement in the production department of CV. Sinar Brahma Rasyid. The research findings indicate several causes of workplace accidents, such as employees not using PPE, carelessness, disorganized factory layout, and a lack of tools to assist in material handling.The risk assessment categorized the risks into two levels: low and medium. One example of a medium risk is a workplace accident that can result in serious injury. To reduce workplace accidents and occupational diseases, the study recommends ergonomic chair design, the addition of transport equipment, the use of hazard signs, machine operation training, and the implementation of PPE usage.

Abstract

Rapid development in the industry, driven by improvements technology, has complicated the challenges faced. Within sectors manufacturing, difficulties often arise in arranging the layout finished product warehouse. Based on observations at PT Sipatex, the arrangement of finished products in the warehouse is still not well organized, which results in inefficiency. The time required for picking up products in different areas of the warehouse takes longer, and This also makes it difficult for workers to inspect goods which will be sent to customers. The main challenge is currently facing PT Sipatex is a lack of internal organization product arrangement, which can slow down the delivery process and causing some aisles not to match the size of the equipment material handling, making it difficult for forklift operators in pick up finished products at the warehouse. This research aims to provide recommendations for improving product layout in the fabric warehouse so with a focus on reorganizing material handling in order to deal with buildup of finished fabric more effectively, so can reduce product buildup in warehouses. The method used in warehouse management is an approach shared storage, where products with delivery frequency the highest and the ones that move frequently are placed closer to the entrance to minimize handling movement distance material. This shared storage approach successfully reduces average material handling mileage per week of 380.5 meters to 292.7 meters per week

Abstract

Product quality is one of the main factors that determine the success of a company in meeting customer needs. The main problem found at CV Cemara is the number of defective cracker products with broken and moldy conditions. This study aims to find a quality improvement design to overcome CV. Cemara in the cracker products produced. The data processing method is using Six Sigma with the DMAIC stage with the result of reducing the defect of broken cracker products reduced by 38% or to 11 kg / day. The results of the analysis show that the implementation of the DMAIC cycle and the validation of improvements in making Product Operational Standards (SOPs) in increasing the company's Sigma level, from 2.74 to sigma level 3. This shows that the improvement in making SOPs has successfully overcome the main problems of CV. Cemara.

Abstract

PD.Restu is a company engaged in the production of gelatin. In its production activities, the company always experiences problems related to the quality of the products produced which are caused by a lack of attention to methods, machines and materials in the manufacturing process. The level of defects in the production process still exceeds the specified limits, so quality control is necessary. PD.Restu applies a rework system to damaged products, in which case this will of course require additional costs such as additional material costs, operator costs and rework costs. PD.Restu has many defective products that do not comply with company specifications, the average total defects in gelatin products for the period January-June 2023 is 8%. The aim of this research is to find out the factors that cause the largest defects in gelatin products. This research uses a statistical process control (SPC) approach with check sheet tools, Pareto diagrams, control charts and fishbone diagrams. The research results show that the production process is not yet under control. There are 3 types of defects in gelatin products, namely syneretic defects 45%, non-resilient texture 34% and rough surface 21%. To find out several factors that cause defects, use a fishbone diagram with the results that there are several factors, namely humans, machines and methods. Next, the FMEA stage is to determine the priority scale for the size of the RPN. Based on the results of the RPN, it produces suggestions for improvements by providing training to operators, providing SOPs and evaluating unskilled employees. Then analyze the rework costs for 6 months that arise based on defective products, where there are additional costs from several factors, namely operator costs IDR 35,498,800 and replacement material costs IDR 90,970,594, with total production of IDR 67,480 then the rework cost per 1 bag is IDR 24,325.

Abstract

PD ABC merupakan UMKM di bidang manufaktur garmen yang memproduksi jaket. Perusahaan menghadapi tantangan berupa penurunan produktivitas dan tidak tercapainya target produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas perusahaan dengan menggunakan metode American Productivity Center (APC) untuk mengukur indeks produktivitas, profitabilitas, dan perbaikan harga. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi penyebab penurunan produktivitas dengan metode SWOT, dan juga perencanaan dan implementasi usulan perbaikan menggunakan metode SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indeks produktivitas mengalami penurunan signifikan pada periode Maret, khususnya pada input modal, dengan penurunan sebesar 47,50% dibandingkan periode dasar. Hal ini disebabkan oleh tingginya biaya modal yang tidak diimbangi dengan output yang dihasilkan. Selain itu, profitabilitas juga mengalami penurunan tertinggi pada periode yang sama. Penyebab utama adalah kurang efisiennya pengelolaan modal perusahaan. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, usulan perbaikan diterapkan, meliputi pengelolaan keuangan yang lebih baik, optimalisasi bahan baku, pelatihan tenaga kerja, efisiensi penggunaan energi, serta penerapan strategi pemasaran yang efektif. Implementasi usulan tersebut berhasil meningkatkan indeks produktivitas, menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi dan profitabilitas perusahaan. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi UMKM manufaktur dalam upaya meningkatkan produktivitas melalui pengelolaan sumber daya yang optimal dan strategi perbaikan yang terarah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan indeks produktivitas setelah pengimplementasian usulan perbaikan dari hasil penelitian ini. Peningkatan ini dicapai melalui pengelolaan keuangan, optimalisasi bahan baku, pelatihan tenaga kerja, pengelolaan energi, dan strategi pemasaran yang efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan peningkatan kualitas pelayanan di bengkel Tunggal Jaya Motor. Dalam konteks ini, metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD) dapat menjadi solusi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan di bengkel tersebut. Tingkat kepuasan pelanggan pada kualitas pelayanan Bengkel Tunggal Jaya Motor belum memuaskan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan isi jawaban pada kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada responden menggunakan metode Servqual. Karena semua dimensi kualitas layanan memiliki gap score antara persepsi/kinerja layanan dengan harapan/kepentingan pelanggan yang menunjukkan nilai negatif (-) yaitu Reliability (Kehandalan) = -0,38, Tangible (Berwujud) = -0,26, Assurance (Jaminan) = -0,35, Responsiveness (Daya Tanggap) = -0,40, Emphaty (Empati) = -0,26. Hasil penelitian ini adalah perencanaan peningkatan kualitas layanan berdasarkan pada hasil analisis Service Quality (Servqual) dan hasil QFD dengan mempertimbangkan kondisi perusahaan yaitu Mekanik melakukan perbaikan/servis  dengan hasil baik, Usulan perencanaannya dilakukan dengan Pengarahan dan Pelatihan karyawan. Ruang tunggu nyaman, Usulan perencanaannya dilakukan dengan Pengadaan tempat menaruh welcome drink. Karyawan/mekanik memiliki keterampilan/kompetensi yang baik, Usulan perencanaannya dilakukan dengan pelatihan terkait spesifikasi teknis kendaraan terbaru, jenis layanan yang ditawarkan. Karyawan/mekanik memberi informasi dengan jelas dan mudah dimengerti. Karyawan/mekanik melayani dengan ramah dan sopan

Abstract

This study aims to measure productivity, identify causes of fluctuations, and formulate improvement strategies for garment MSMEs in Garut Regency. Data was collected from June to December 2024, covering input variables such as labor, materials, energy, and capital, as well as output variables such as production value in rupiah. The American Productivity Center (APC) method was used to calculate the Productivity Index (PI), Profitability Index (PI), and Price Improvement Index (PI) with a base period of June. The results show that the total productivity index ranges from 98.40% to 101.34%, with the highest value in August (labor IP 120.92%) and the lowest in September (88.72%). Gap analysis revealed the main causes of fluctuations, namely excess stock after Eid, lack of labor discipline, high employee turnover, and inefficient capital costs. The SWOT analysis resulted in productivity improvement strategies, including optimizing experienced labor, implementing incentive systems, flexible work scheduling, efficient raw material planning, increased online promotion, and developing distribution partnerships. This study provides practical contributions in the form of data-based strategy guidelines for garment MSMEs to achieve stable and sustainable productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to measure and plan productivity improvements at PD Dodol Gisan using the American Productivity Center (APC) method. The main problem is the lack of a data-based productivity measurement and evaluation system. The American Productivity Center (APC) is used to calculate the productivity index (IP), profitability (IPF), and price improvement (IPH). The results show that labor IP decreased by an average of 4%, materials fluctuated (96.02 - 105.21), while energy and capital increased by 13.56% and 9.45% respectively from the baseline. The IPF showed a similar pattern, with a decline in materials of up to 11.6% and a consistent increase in energy and capital. The average IPH was 1.0, indicating that profitability was not affected by selling prices but rather by operational efficiency. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) revealed the main factors behind the decline, namely raw material waste, high absenteeism, energy waste, and lack of equipment maintenance. Improvement planning using the 5W1H method resulted in recommendations for simple SOPs related to raw materials, workforce attendance, energy, and machine maintenance. This study provides a quantitative and practical basis for small industries to improve efficiency and profitability in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

CV Yumna Dress is an SME engaged in the production of Muslim clothing and faces the problem of high product defect rates. This study aims to design product quality improvements using the Six Sigma method with the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach. The results of the identification show that the dominant types of defects are untidy stitching, holes in the fabric, and fabric stains. The sigma level is 3.83. Analysis using Pareto diagrams, fishbone diagrams, and FMEA shows that the root cause of the problem lies in human factors, specifically a lack of sewing skills. The proposed improvements include training, SOP development, and sewing machine maintenance. The control stage simulation resulted in a sigma value increase of 0.26 from 3.83 to 4.09. This study shows that the Six Sigma DMAIC method is effective in reducing defects and improving production process capabilities.

Abstract

Ikbal Cuanki MSME faces inventory control problems due to seasonal demand fluctuations and production limitations, especially during the lean season and Ramadan. This study uses a quantitative approach with a seasonal Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model based on data from July 2024 to June 2025. The results show that the optimal order quantity during normal, abundant, and lean seasons is 1,359 kg per order (9 orders per month), while during Ramadan it increases to 1,800 kg per order (9 orders per month). EOQ has been proven to reduce inventory costs and minimize the risk of excess stock. However, supporting strategies such as frozen storage, warehouse optimization, and supplier contracts are still necessary.
