Abstract

Software defined network (SDN) is a new paradigm in network engineering, where control plane and data plane are separated. Data plane is carried out on each node, while a control plane is centrally located. In conventional networks, the planes are implemented in the firmware of the router. In this paper, we implemented multimedia services on SDN using exterior and interior routing protocols, such as open shortest path first (OSPF), border gateway protocol (BGP) and routing information protocol (RIP), measured the quality of service (QoS), and analyze the measurement results. The test results showed that the greater the background traffic provided, the smaller the throughput. Traffic on the network will be congested, so the available bandwidth is also increasingly used up so that the number of bits sent every second decrease. Mean opinion score (MOS) test results are 4 showing good categories based on ITU-T standards.

Abstract

Software-defined networking (SDN) is becoming increasingly popular because of features such as programming control, embedded monitoring, fine-grained control, flexibility, support for many tenants, and scalability. Problems with the prior design, known as the conventional network, include the need to configure each network device individually, decentralized control, and a persistent issue with tenant enforcement for multitenant support. Tenants are unable to administer their networks without disturbing their neighbours. In this research, network slicing on SDN will ensure tenant isolation using FlowVisor and an SDN controller. Flowspace, which is part of FlowVisor capable of implementing network isolation, is for isolation in this research. Multitenancy is supported in SDN via the network slicing technique. Two types of renters were employed, and two testing procedures connectivity and functionality were run to meet the research objectives. This research produced several findings, including that all hosts were correctly linked, and the connection was achieved without turning on FlowVisor. The host function can only send and receive data from hosts with the same tenant. The research results show that FlowVisor can be applied for isolation enforcement. As a result of each tenant utilising their slice of the network without being interrupted by other slices, this research finds that utilising FlowVisor to construct Flowspace can segment the network to allow multitenancy. Expanding the number of slices for more study and testing in a real-world setting is possible.

Abstract

This article reviews vehicle license plate recognition (LPR) using deep learning techniques, which have become essential in intelligent transportation systems, law enforcement, and parking management. Deep learning, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), has replaced traditional methods with more accurate and robust systems capable of handling diverse real-world conditions. The article explores various deep learning approaches in LPR, including fusion, two-stage, end-to-end, multi-branch, and generative methods. Fusion methods combine deep learning with traditional image processing to enhance accuracy. Two-stage methods separate the detection and recognition tasks into different models. End-to-end methods use a single model for both detection and recognition, improving efficiency and reducing errors. Multi-branch methods employ parallel neural network branches to handle different tasks simultaneously, such as plate detection and character recognition. Generative methods use Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to create realistic license plate images, boosting recognition performance. The article evaluates these methods on benchmark datasets and identifies challenges, such as improving robustness under extreme weather conditions, developing lightweight models for real-time processing on constrained devices, and addressing privacy and security concerns. This review offers a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements in deep learning-based LPR technology and its potential applications.

Abstract

Abstract

Pneumonia is a pulmonary disease resulting from infections caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi that invade the lungs. This condition leads to inflammation due to the accumulation of fluids, blood cells, and other substances in the alveoli. Common symptoms experienced by patients include fever, coughing, and production of phlegm. Although pneumonia can affect individuals of any age, those with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable. Children and elderly individuals are especially prone to contracting this illness. The present research employs an ensemble learning approach for pneumonia detection using chest x-ray images to address this issue, specifically integrating support vector machines (SVMs) and random forests (RFs). The primary aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of ensemble learning through a voting classifier in improving pneumonia detection accuracy compared to individual machine learning models. The methodology includes preprocessing the data with contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE), which minimizes noise by defining a kernel matrix and substituting each pixel's intensity with the weighted average of its neighboring pixels and itself. The research also involves training models using SVM and RF algorithms with hyperparameter optimization. These individual models are then assessed and compared using performance metrics such as accuracy, area under the curve (AUC), specificity, sensitivity, confusion matrix, and computational efficiency. By harnessing the strengths of ensemble learning, this research aims to contribute to the development of reliable pneumonia detection systems, with potential applications in clinical environments where timely and accurate diagnosis is essential for patient management. This research achieved 99.40% and 96.32% accuracy, 99.97% and 96.52% AUC, and 0.0436% and 0.0451% loss. This method tackles others that use deep learning and single machine learning with all balanced datasets.

Abstract

Enhancing visual identity and information media is crucial for elevating the image and competitiveness of an educational institution. Lihai Islamic Preschool, which provides playgroup programs for children aged 2 to 6 years using the Ihsan, Active, and Happy approach, requires effective information media to present its vision, mission, and educational programs to the broader community. This community service initiative aims to conceptualize and develop a web that serves as a platform for information dissemination and communication. The web is crafted to meet professional standards, aesthetic appeal, and improved accessibility. The methods used in this activity include needs analysis, web structure and design, content creation (both visual and textual), and training for Lihai Islamic Preschool managers on web usage and maintenance. The result of this initiative is an interactive web that presents information comprehensively, strengthens the institution's visual identity, and enhances accessibility to information for prospective parents and the public. It is expected that this web will foster greater recognition and trust in Lihai Islamic Preschool as a model educational institution committed to nurturing early childhood character development. Additionally, this web serves as an effective communication medium between the educational institution and the community, facilitating the advancement of technology-based education that is more adaptive and contemporary.
