Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk bokasi feses kambing dengan level yang berbeda terhadap produktivitas rumput raja (Pennisetum   purpureophoides). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Kambaniru, Kecamatan Kota Waingapu, Kabupaten Sumba Timur. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan yakni P0= kontrol, P1= pupuk bokasi feses kambing50 g/polybag, P2= pupuk bokasi feses kambing 100 g/polybag,  P3= feses kambing 150 g/polybag dan P4 = feses kambing 200 g/polybag. Variabel yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, produksi berat segar, produksi berat kering, dan produksi bahan kering. Hasil penelitian menunjukan perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap jumlah anakan, produksi berat segar, produksi berat kering, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman dan produksi bahan kering rumput raja (Pennisetum   purpureophoides). Kesimpulan, penggunaan dosis pupuk bokasi feses kambing 200 gram / polybag lebih baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi rumput raja (Pennisetum   purpureophoides).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the value of volatile fatty acids (VFA) and ammonia (NH3) of natural grass in grazing fields in vitro. The study used a direct survey method in the field. Natural grass was tested in vitro using Bali cattle rumen fluid. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis based on the mean and standard deviation. Natural grass consisted of Heteropogon insignis, Bracharia decumbens, Bothriochloa ischaemum. The measurement of the value of VFA uses steam distillation, while the method of measuring the value of NH3 uses Conway micro diffusion. The results showed that Bracharia decumbens grass had a total VFA value of 74.48 mM and an NH3 value of 8.50 mM which was higher than Heteropogon insignis grass (total VFA 65.79 mM and NH3 6.67 mM), and Bothriochloa ischaemum grass (total VFA 60.64 mM and NH3 5.34 mM). The conclusion of this study was based on the value of VFA and NH3, Bracharia decumbens grass was a natural grass that may be cultivated for ruminants.

Abstract

Hijuan pada areal persawahan perlu didata dan dikelola karena merupakan sumber pakan yang murahdan mudah diperoleh untuk dikonsumsi ternak. Masalah penelitian pada areal persawahan belum adanyainformasi data jenis tanaman yang menjadi hijauan makanan ternak ruminansia. Penelitian ini bertujuanuntuk mengidentifikasi hijauan yang ada di lahan persawahan Kecamatan Pandawai Kabupaten Sumba Timur.Penelitian menggunakan metode survei, pegamatan, dan pengukuran langsung di lapangan. Identifikasi hijauan menggunakan lembar identifikasi jenis dengan mencocokkan tunbuhan dan aplikasi PlanNet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa areal lahan persawahan Kecamatan Pandawai Kabupaten Sumba Timur memiliki 10 spesies rumput yakni Leersia hexandra, Cyperus sphalelatus, Leptochioa filiformis, Imperata cylindrica, Echinochios colona, Eragrotis unioloides, Cyperus iria L., Setaria palide, Panicum repens, dan Eragrotis spp. Leguminosa terdiri dari 7 spesies yakni Pueraria phaseoloides, Siratro, Sesbania bispinosa, Chamaecrista mimosoides (L)., Nila, Desmodium desv., dan Desmodium sp. Rumba terdiri dari 5 spesies yakni Ludwigia otctovalvis, Stylosanthes, Phyliantus minuri, Mikania micranta dan Euphorbia hirta. Jenis hijauan yang mendominasi areal persawahan adalah jenis rumput 71,24%, diikuti leguminosa 17,79%, dan rumba 10,97%. Spesies rumput yang paling dominan adalah Leersia hexandra. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui produksi, komposisi botani, dan kapasitas tampung padang penggembalaan di Desa Maubokul Kecamatan Pandawai Kabupaten Sumba Timur. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2021. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode survei dan pengukuran serta pengamatan langsung di lapangan. Pengukuran produksi hijauan menggunakan metode “actual weight estimate” dengan menggunakan kuadran ukur 1 m × 1 m. Data yang diperoleh ditabulasi dan dihitung untuk mendapatkan total produksi hijauan pakan, komposisi botani, dan kapasitas tampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa padang penggembalaan Desa Mauboku memiliki produksi bahan segar sebesar 2.538,4 kg/ha (2,5 ton ha-1), produksi bahan kering sebesar 1.461,9 (1,4 ton ha-1), nilai Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) rumput 82,10%, legum 12,40%, dan gulma 5,50%. Padang penggembalaan ini juga memiliki kapasisitas tampung sebesar 0,05 ST ha-1 tahun-1 . Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa padang padang penggembalaan alam di Desa Maubokul didominasi oleh rumput alam dengan kapasitas tampung yang rendah pada musim kemarau. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi asap cair tongkol jagung yang berbeda  terhadap kadar air, pH, total fenol dan organoleptik dendeng ayam meliputi (warna, rasa, tekstur dan kesukaan). Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Terpadu Universitas Kristen Wira Wacana Sumba. Materi penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah daging ayam segar yang diperoleh dari pasar Matawai Waingapu, Kabupaten Sumba Timur. Daging diambil pada bagian paha dan dada sebanyak 3kg. Penelitian ini mengunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan 5 ulangan yaitu : P1 = konsentrasi pengasapan 4%; P2 = konsentrasi pengasapan 6%; P3 = konsentrasi pengasapan 8%; P4 = konsentrasi pengasapan 10%, Sehingga terdapat 20 unit sampel. Variabel pengamatan adalah kadar air, pH, total fenol dan organoleptik (warna, rasa, tekstur dan kesukaan). Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis ragam dengan taraf kepercayaan 5%, hasil berpengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT), Data organoleptik diolah dengan uji statistik dengan metode non parametrik kruskall Wallis. Data dianalisis dengan  pengujian secara deskriptif menunjukkan, bahwa pemanfaatan asap cair tongkol jagung dengan level konsentrasi tertinggi berpengaruh dalam menurunkan kadar air dan pH tetapi dapat meningkatkan penerimaan panelis terhadap organoleptik (warna, rasa, tekstur dan kesukaan) pada dendeng ayam. Konsentrasi asap cair dengan level yang tertinggi dapat meningkatkan aktivitas total fenol.

Abstract

The aims of the experiment was to determine the effect of bokashi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle Sumba Ongole cattle on the nutritional value of the Sesbania grandiflora. This experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments with 4 replications consisting of P0: without bokashi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle/planting hole, P1: bokashi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle 200 grams/planting hole, P2: bokashi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle 500 grams/planting hole, P3: bokashi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle 800 grams/planting hole, and P4: bokashi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle 1000 grams/planting hole. The variables observed in this experiment consisted of crude protein and crude fiber. The results showed that the bokshi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle feces had not significant effect (P<0.05) on crude protein and crude fiber. Conclusion, giving bokashi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle up to 1.000 grams had nutritional value same.

Abstract

The aims of the experiment was to demine the effect of giving bokashi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle feces on the productivity of the Indigofera zollingeriana. This experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments with 4 replications consisting of: P0=without bokashi fertilizer/planting hole, P1=200 grams/planting hole, P2=500 grams/planting hole, P3=800 grams/planting hole, and P4=1000 grams/planting hole. Variables observed in this experiment consisted of plant height, total of leaves, stem diameter, fresh matter production, and dry matter production. The results showed that the application of bokashi fertilizer Sumba Ongole cattle had not significant effect (P<0.05), on plant height, number of leaves, fresh matter production, and dry matter production, but it has not significant effect on stem diameter. The application of bokashi fertilizer from Sumba Ongole cattle feces the level of 500 grams/planting hole could increased plant height, total of leaves, fresh matter production, and dry matter production of Indigofera zollingeriana.

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to analyze the production, botanical composition, and carrying capacity of pasture in the Lai Ndeha Village, Pandawai District, East Sumba Regency. The experiment was conducted on April 1-30, 2022. The experiment used survey method, measurement, and direct observations in the field. Forage production measured by actual weight estimate method with 1 m x 1 m of the frame as tool utilization. Botanical composition measured using the summed dominance ratio method, as well as the carrying capacity measured using the viosin formula. The data obtained were tabulated and calculated to obtain the total forage production, botanical composition, and carrying capacity. The results showed that the pasture in Lai Ndeha Village, Pandawai District, had a fresh production of 1.462.91 kg/ha, dry matter production of 702.89 kg/ha, Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) of grass 69,60%, legumes 14,29%, and weeds 16,11%. The pasture also has a carrying capacity of 2,7 AU/ha/year. In conclusion, pasture in Lai Ndeha Village, Pandawai District were dominated by natural grasses with high capacity during the rainy season.

Abstract

The experiment aims to determine the effect of giving bokashi fertilizer of sandalwood horse feces on the productivity of the Sesbania glandiflora. The experiment used experimental method by randomized block design (RBD), 5 treatments and 4 replications such us P0: without bokashi fertilizer of sandalwood horse feces, P1: bokashi fertilizer of sandalwood horse feces 200 gram/planting hole, P2: bokashi fertilizer of sandalwood horse feces 500 gram/planting hole, P3: sandalwood horse feces fertilizer 800 gram/planting hole, P4: bokashi fertilizer of sandalwood horse feces 1.000 gram/planting hole. The variables observed consisted of plant height, total leaves, stem diameter, fresh matter production, and dry matter production. The results showed that the application of bokashi fertilizer sandalwood horse had significant effect (p<0,05) on plant height, total leaves, fresh matter production and dry matter production. Conclusion, the application of bokashi fertilizer of sandalwood horse feces with a level of 800 grams/planting hole was able to provide good growth on Sesbania glandiflora.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying sandelwood horse feces bokashi fertilizer on the productivity of Indigofera zollingeriana. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications consisting of: P0=Without sandlewood horse feces bokashi fertilizer/planting hole, P1=200 gram/planting hole, P2=500 gram/planting hole, P3=800 gram/ planting hole, and P4=1000gram/planting hole.The variables observed in this study consisted of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh material production, and dry matter production. The results showed that the application of bokashi fertilizer from manure/horse feces had a significant effect (P<0.05) on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh material production and dry matter production. Conclusion, giving of sandlewood horse bokashi fertilizer at level 1000 gram/planting hole can increase plant height, stem diameter, fresh material production, and Indigofera zollingeriana dry matter production.
