Abstract

Indonesia is one of countries with the most populous Muslim in the world. Poverty that strikes Muslims is an irony considering Islam is the only divine religion which explicitly requires his people to dispense zakah. Therefore, Zakah, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS) is the potential solution to eradicate poverty in Indonesia. Infaq can be an alternative solution to alleviate poverty through income equalization. This study analyses factors that affect the household’s charity allocation using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method and behavior of charity allocations on household using descriptive analysis. Result shows that altruism, income and formal education affect household’s charity allocation. These three factors positively influence the amount of household’s charity. On the other hand, behavior on charity allocation shows a good respond even though it is not yet a priority.

Abstract

Shrimp is an Indonesian fishery commodity with a high selling value in domestic and international markets. Frozen shrimp, as a type of shrimp exported from fishery products, has enormous potential to be developed as one of the mainstay commodities in the fisheries sector. However, Indonesia's frozen shrimp exports in the last five years have fluctuated and are still unable to compete with competing countries in exporting to main destination countries. Expanding the export market by looking at non-traditional markets as new destination markets to increase its exports again is necessary. This study analyses the competitiveness and determinants of Indonesian frozen shrimp exports to non-traditional markets. The research methods used are Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Export Product Dynamic (EPD), X-Model to analyze the competitiveness and panel data regression to analyze determinants of Indonesian frozen shrimp exports to non-traditional markets. The results showed that Indonesian frozen shrimp are competitive in several non-traditional market destination countries. The estimation results in panel data regression show that the variables of real GDP per capita of the destination country, economic distance, export prices, actual exchange rates, population growth, and Logistic Performance Index (LPI) Indonesian and country of destination have a significant influence on Indonesia's frozen shrimp exports to non-markets traditional. Keywords: EPD, frozen shrimp, non-traditional market, panel data regresion, RCA, X-Model

Abstract

Abstract.Inclusive finance is a financial system that provides support for low-income people to be able to access finance. In reality, financial access is not enjoyed by all levels of society, such as unequal financial access, inadequate availability of services and infrastructure. This then becomes a challenge as well as to answer the objectives of how to measure the financial inclusion index between provinces in Indonesia, analyze the determinants of financial inclusion and analyze the relationship between financial inclusion and inequality. This research uses Tobit regression analysis, Klassen typology analysis and Granger causality analysis. The financial inclusion index between provinces in Indonesia is in the low category, except for DKI Jakarta, Bali and South Kalimantan which are in the medium category. The estimation results of the determinants of financial inclusion found that unemployment, internet, mobile phones, growth rate and road ratio have an influence on financial inclusion

Abstract

The province of North Sumatra has the lowest health performance in Sumatra, with disparities amongst districts /cities. This study aims to analyze the health performance factor of North Sumatra districts/cities using a Geographically Weighted Panel Regression (GWPR) model analysis in 33 districts/cities with a time series of 2012-2019. The analysis results showed that the determinants of health performance differed between districts/cities grouped into 15 groups based on influencing factors and four clusters based on the area of the development areas. The income variable has a significant positive effect on all 33 districts, the education variable has a positive effect on 19 districts, the human health resources variable has a positive effect on 12 districts, the immunization variable has a positive effect on 11 districts, the proper sanitation variable has positive on nine districts, the government spending in health sector variable has positive on five districts, and the medical facility variable has positive on one district namely Karo. Determinants in the Nias Island Area: income, government spending in the health sector, and human resources. West Coast area: income, education, and proper sanitation. East Coast Area: income, education, health, human resources, and immunization. The determinant Highland area differs between regencies/cities. To improve the performance of health development in the province, it is necessary to carry out a spatial approach based on cluster equations and influencing factors. Increased income, education, and human health resources must be prioritized in almost all district areas.

Abstract

The issuance of Law No. 1 of 2022 as a complement to Law No. 23 of 2004 concerning financial relations between the central and regional governments. Fiscal transfer policies are becoming more selective in seeing local needs. However, this needs to be supported by good fiscal management in the regions to carry out development activities that have an impact on increasing income that is more evenly distributed between regions and communities. One of the important instruments of fiscal decentralization is the management of government spending. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between government spending and per capita income in Southeast Sulawesi. The units of observation analyzed are gross regional domestic product per capita in the previous year, personnel expenditures, goods and services expenditures, capital expenditures, HDI, district and city dummy variables. The model approach in the calculation is panel data regression analysis from 2016-2020. Based on the test results, the probability (F-statistics) is obtained, the equation of income per capita the Hausman test > 0.05, then the random effect model (REM) equation is the best model choice. The results of the analysis show all independent variables have a strong relationship with the dependent variable in the model which is shown by an R-square of 0.982. Variables that show significant effect on the increase in percapita income are (????????????????????????????(????−1)), goods and services expenditure, capital expenditure and HDI, while personnel expenditure has a negative effect on per capita income for both districts and cities in Southeast Sulawesi Province.

Abstract

Fiscal independence affects the revenue and expenditure patterns of a local government which in turn affects economic growth and can reduce poverty and unemployment. This study was conducted in 33 provinces in Indonesia using secondary data with a time span from 2013 to 2019. The model used is a dynamic simultaneous panel model with the SYS-GMM approach. Besides that, there is a need to develop fiscal independence index to obtain clearer conditions for fiscal independence. Revenue Sharing Fund variable that is not included in the calculation. Revenue Sharing Fund is a source of income that is already generated by a region. Readjustments are needed by including revenue sharing funds in the calculation. The newly developed fiscal independence index more clearly describes the condition. Riau, Lampung and South Sulawesi were included in the independence fiscal region category that was not previously. Fiscal independence has a significant effect and positive relationship with GRDP. Meanwhile, the reduced form results on poverty and unemployment show that GRDP has a significant negative effect on poverty and unemployment. Fiscally independent regions are better at reducing poverty and unemployment.
