Abstract

Employees who work in offices absolutely need water, for example to wash hands, to defecate, or other household needs. Water availability must be a concern of managers. But in fact, many officers pay less attention for this. They let a lot of water flows from the tank or reservoir that makes important water resources are wasted. This study aims to regulate the usage of water in office buildings so that water needs for employees are always met. The system was built by three tanks, one tank as the main water source called the central tank and two tanks as a reservoir of water that will be consumed by employees called tank1 and tank2. To measure the water level in the tank, it will use an ultrasonic sensor. If the water in the central tank has reached the minimum capacity length from the surface of the water to the sensor (≥ 20 cm), the tank manager will receives an SMS that indicates the water in the central tank is not available and needs to be refill. Tank 1 and tank 2 are filled automatically by activating the pump and opening the solenoid valve when the water is less than the maximum limit set (> 5 cm). The results showed that the system was able to send an SMS to the tank manager when the water level had reached the minimum limit with an 7.39 seconds of average delivery time. Tank 1 and tank 2 can be returned off when the water level reaches the 5 cm limit. The average success rate of filling water in tank1 was 98.46% and tank2 was 97.32%.

Abstract

Nomophobia (no mobile phone phobia) is a form of phobia or fear that occurs for a person if they does not hold a mobile phone for some time then he will be stressed. This nomophobia should be prevented early on starting from the golden age of learning children 0-8 years by holding fun and interactive learning activities, because at that age the growth of the child's brain is calculated very quickly that is as much as 80%. To support their growth most of the parents, choose smartphones and gadgets of the like to support basic learning such as reading. This is because the learning offered to their child is interactive. However, it is certainly a challenge for parents to control and supervise children in using smartphones for learning activities. To solve the above, design electronic books using Microcontrollers and Voice Recognition Module V3 to support children's learning in addition to using smartphones in order to prevent nomophobia

Abstract

Cleaning and drying cocoa beans are generally done manually by farmers. The manual cleaning process takes a long time, and the pulp reduction is not optimal. In contrast, drying using sunlight takes a long time when it is done in the rainy season. This causes the cocoa beans to be moldy and have low sale value. In the equipment made by the factory, the two machines are made separately and are hardly affordable by the farmers. Based on these problems, a microcontroller-based cocoa bean dryer (de pulper) was designed with a single container so that both processes could be carried out using just one machine. To elaborate this system, cleaning is carried out on fermented cocoa beans that are pulp shed in a rotating cylinder. In comparison, the drying process is carried out by using a heat source, a soil moisture sensor to detect the moisture content of cocoa beans, a DS18B20 sensor to detect temperatures in the drying container, and a cylindrical container is rotated using an A.C. motor. Based on the experiment results, it takes 10 minutes to clean the cocoa beans from the pulp. The drying process takes 5 hours, 10 minutes, and 5 hours and 40 minutes to dry the cocoa beans to a maximum moisture content of 7%. A rotating drying container can speed up the drying process of cocoa beans compared to drying using sunlight in the rainy season.   The proposed tool in this study can carry out more efficient capacity better than the conventional tool.

Abstract

Parking is an activity to stop or store vehicles in a place that has been provided in public places that have a parking system. The parking system is a system that is applied to a parking environment. Several parking systems developed are manual parking systems, computer-based parking systems, semi-automatic parking systems and RFID-based parking systems. Indonesia has developed a lot of computer-based parking systems, but many areas still use manual parking systems. So that there are still many vehicles parked carelessly, security is not guaranteed and the payment system has not been accumulated based on the length of parking time. This paper describes the development of a parking system based on the template matching method by developing non-cash payments based on the length of parking time. Researchers use a webcam to detect vehicles that will enter the parking area. The captured images are processed in a database to store vehicle entry time information. Researchers use qr codes as a substitute for admission tickets. When leaving the parking area, a QR code will be scanned on the provided application, then users can make payments through the application. This system can be carried out independently by the user so that it does not require full 24-hour supervision.

Abstract

Respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, continue to be a significant public health concern worldwide. In this regard, public health organizations provide preventative measures, such as wearing masks, and practicing good hand hygiene, to help control the spread of respiratory illnesses. However, existing preventive measures may not be fully effective in ensuring compliance, especially in dispersed economic conditions, leading to continued risks of respiratory virus spread in public spaces. To address this challenge, this study proposes a microcontroller-driven system designed to monitor and regulate entry into public spaces, aiming to reduce the transmission of respiratory illnesses. The system employs a camera, a temperature sensor and an ultrasonic sensor to detect face mask usage, measure body temperature, and track the distance of hands from the sensor for automatic handwashing. Using deep learning method to measure accuracy rates of 0.90, 0.89, 0.89, and 0.89 for detecting face masks, precision, recall, and F1 score, respectively, and an accuracy of 99.18% in measuring body temperature. The system has the potential to enhance public safety significantly. The automatic door opening feature, triggered only when a person is wearing a mask, has an average body temperature, and has washed their hands automatically, adds to the system's efficacy. The system's ability to detect and respond to non-compliance with safety measures can help promote adherence to public health guidelines and reduce the risk of infection. This study's findings demonstrate the developed system's high potential to contribute to public safety in the era of respiratory viruses.

Abstract

The problem that occurs in Sanjai Tourism Village is inadequate internet access. Internet access is fundamental nowadays, both in daily activities and in the context of promotional activities for Tourism Villages to attract visitors. One of the aspects of assessing the Indonesian Tourism Village Award is digital creativity. To make this happen, it is necessary to have internet access that everyone can enjoy, including the community, visitors, and the Tourism Village group (Pokdarwis) in the Sanjai Tourism Village. Therefore, in Community Service activities, a Wi-Fi Coin system was designed to improve internet access in the Sanjai Tourism Village. The Wi-Fi Coin System uses coins to access the internet. In addition, the Wi-Fi Coin system can be portable for use in the desired location. The method used consists of three stages: preparation consisting of a survey and needs analysis to obtain data on community needs, especially the Sanjai Tourism Village Pokdarwis. The implementation consists of system design, testing, and implementation. System design and testing were carried out at the Unand Computer Engineering Department. Meanwhile, the implementation was done directly before the Pokdarwis team and the Village Community. Trials and equipment handover to the Sanjai Tourism Village Pokdarwis marked the activity results.
