Abstract

Abstract: A learning process, understanding is a prerequisite for improving cognitive abilities. To find out the extent of students' mathematical understanding ability by describing based on indicators used by researchers. The purpose of this study was to describe the five abilities of students towards mathematical understanding of algebra material in grade 7 MTs. This research method is a qualitative descriptive study. The sample selection uses the purposive sample method, namely three 7th grade students at MTs Manbaul Islam Soko, Tuban Regency. The research instrument used was a UAS test and interview questions, while to ensure the validity of the data, the researcher analyzed the data in two ways, namely the triangulation of data sources and triangulation of methods. The results of the study describe five students' mathematical understanding abilities on algebra material, namely  reasoning and  argument,  devising  strategies  for  solving  problems, mathematizing, and communication.  Keywords: Mathematical understanding ability, algebra Abstrak: Suatu  proses  belajar,  pemahaman  merupakan  prasyarat  untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif. Untuk mengetahui sejauh manakah kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa dengan menguraikan berdasarkan indikator yang digunakan peneliti. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan lima kemampuan siswa terhadap pemahaman matematis pada materi aljabar di kelas 7 MTs. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan metodhe sampel bertujuan (Purposive Sample) yaitu tiga siswa kelas 7 di MTs Manbaul Islam Soko Kabupaten Tuban. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes soal UAS dan wawancara, sedangkan untuk memastikan kevalidan data, peneliti menganalisis data dengan dua cara yaitu triangulasi sumber data dan triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian memaparkan lima kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa pada materi aljabar yaitu reasoning and argument, devising strategies for solving problems, mathematizing, dan communication. Kata Kunci: kemampuan pemahaman matematis, aljabar

Abstract

Abstract: Education is an effort to cultivate noble character, change one's attitude and behavior in maturing through teaching. Education is very important for people, both young and old, in group or individual life, to increase knowledge and abilities. decision making on a problem faced with a great sense of responsibility. An education, humans have and do not have to think critically or study in school but can understand mathematical problems and solve mathematical problems as well as problems in everyday life. The type of research used in this research is descriptive method, in the form of observations with people or actors who are observed in written or spoken words. The results of this study are the extent to which students' systematic problem solving abilities in tube material are viewed from a mathematical position.Keywords: student systematic problems, tube material Abstrak: Pendidikan adalah upaya penanaman budi pekerti luhur, mengubah sikap dan prilaku seseorang dalam mendewasakan melalui pengajaran. Pendidian sangatlah penting bagi masyarakat baik tua maupun muda dalam kehidupan berkelompok atau inividu, untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan. pengambilan keputusan suatu masalah yang dihadapi dengan rasa tanggung jawaayang besar. Suatu pendidikan, manusia memiliki dan tidak harus berfikir kritis atau pelajaran di sekolah saja melainkan dapat memahami permasahan matematis dan memecahakan masalah matematis juga persoalan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Jenis penelitian  yang digunakan  dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif, berupa pengamatan dengan orang-orang atau pelaku yang diamati dengan kata-kata tertulis atau lisan. Abstract

This study aims to improve social studies learning outcomes of grade VII students of Al-Kyai Sitiaji Junior High School, Sukosewu, Bojonegoro through the application of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. The main problems identified were low student average scores and limited active participation during the learning process. This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart models, which is conducted in two cycles. Data was collected through observation, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The results showed an increase in students' average scores from 65 to 75, and learning mastery increased from 47% to 82%. Student activity also increased, especially in terms of engagement during group discussions and project work. The implementation of PjBL has proven to be effective in improving learning outcomes and 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and responsibility. This model can serve as an alternative to contextual and meaningful learning strategies in social studies education.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of problem-based learning model on mathematical problems solving ability of the tenth grade students in SMA Negeri 1 Kedungadem, Bojonegoro. The research method used is a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique in this study was a cluster random sampling involving 2 classes consisting of 35 students for the experimental class and 35 students for the control class. The instrument used in this research was a test (include pre-test and post-test) of students' mathematical problem solving ability in the form of essay questions. The results showed that the class taught by problem-based learning model had an average score of 82.6, while the control class had an average score of 73.57. Furthermore, in Independent Sample T-Test, the calculated value>t- table (4.033> 2.007) means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Then, it can be concluded that problem-based learning model is effective in improving mathematical problems solving ability of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Kedungadem, Bojonegoro.

Abstract

Low mathematics learning achievement and minimal use of learning media are problems in mathematics learning, especially in the subject of quadrilateral shapes. This study aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning model assisted by flipbooks on the mathematics learning achievement of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Rengel. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of class VII C as the experimental class and class VII A as the control class. Data were collected through learning achievement tests and analysed using the t-test. The results showed that the learning achievement of students who participated in discovery learning assisted by flipbooks was higher than that of students who participated in conventional learning. Thus, the discovery learning model assisted by flipbooks had a positive effect on students' mathematics learning achievement.
