Abstract

The implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education—education, research, and community service—continues to face various challenges, particularly due to limited resources and a lack of synergy among lecturers from different institutions. This study aims to examine strategies for strengthening inter-university lecturer collaboration networks as a means to optimize the implementation of the Tri Dharma. A qualitative method was used, with a case study approach involving several universities in Indonesia that have established inter-institutional collaborations. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that structured collaborative networks can enhance teaching efficiency, strengthen the quality of joint research, and broaden the impact of community service programs. Key supporting factors include shared vision, institutional support, and effective communication platforms. The implications of this study highlight the importance of institutional policies that promote cross-university collaboration as a sustainable strategy to empower lecturers in carrying out the Tri Dharma more effectively and with greater impact.

Abstract

Background: The application of electronic signatures (TTE) is an essential step in supporting digitalization efforts to authenticate medical record documents (RME) in a secure and efficient manner. This study aims to review the readiness for TTE implementation at Puskesmas Ngebel using the Fishbone Diagram analysis (5M: Man, Method, Material, Machine, Money). Subjects and Methods: This research uses a qualitative method with data collection conducted through interviews with respondents including the Head of Puskesmas (for triangulation), medical record officers, registration staff, doctors, and nurses. Research Results: The results show that Puskesmas Ngebel is still in the initial stage of implementation and faces various obstacles as identified through the Fishbone Diagram analysis. This study is expected to review the level of readiness for TTE implementation and offer solutions to overcome the identified challenges. By applying the Fishbone Diagram approach, this research successfully identifies institutional barriers in preparing for the implementation of electronic signatures for authenticating medical record documents. The findings are expected to contribute to strategic planning for digitalization in community health centers.

Abstract

Medical records are a crucial component in hospital health services. With technological advancement, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are expected to improve service efficiency. This study aims to identify and compare the efficiency of patient services using EMR and Conventional Medical Records (CMR) at RSUD Dr. Harjono S. Ponorogo. This research employed a qualitative comparative method with data collected through observation and interviews. The study involved five informants: a doctor, a nurse, a conventional medical record officer, an electronic medical record officer, and an IT staff member involved in medical record management. The results show that EMR is more efficient in terms of time, cost, data security, information access, and reporting. CMR still holds advantages in direct physical access without relying on technology. It is concluded that EMR implementation supports faster and more integrated patient services. Therefore, hospitals are encouraged to adopt EMR systems comprehensively.

Abstract

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is a system used to record medical information of patients electronically, which aims to facilitate and speed up the recording process. The use of EMR offers ease, practicality, and efficiency in patient data management (Yoga et al., 2020). This study aims to analyze the readiness of implementing EMR at the Muhammadiyah General Hospital in Ponorogo, based on the 5M management elements (Man, Money, Material, Machine, Method). The study uses a descriptive qualitative design with a case study approach, which was conducted through interviews to obtain data. The sample in this study consisted of 27 healthcare workers involved in using the EMR application. The sample was selected using purposive sampling. The results showed that the readiness of EMR implementation in terms of the Man element (human resources) is quite good, as most of the staff have demonstrated readiness in using the EMR application, as seen from their comfort and skills in operating the system. In terms of Money, the hospital has allocated sufficient funds for the maintenance of the EMR system, which is continuously updated, and for its implementation in the inpatient and Emergency Department (ED) areas. For the Material element, the software used for EMR is adequate and ready to support the implementation of the system. In the Machine element, the availability of computers and supporting devices, such as stable internet connections and servers, has been well established. The user-friendly system also supports the implementation process. Finally, the Method element shows that there are clear SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for EMR implementation and workflows that are easy to follow by the users. Overall, this study indicates that the Muhammadiyah General Hospital in Ponorogo is ready to implement the Electronic Medical Record system with strong support in all 5M management aspects.

Abstract

Public literacy regarding health rights remains low, especially in communities with limited access to legal and health-related information. This lack of understanding often leads to unfulfilled rights and unequal access to quality healthcare services, contributing to a cycle of inequity and poor health outcomes. In response to this issue, this community service program seeks to enhance public awareness of health rights through interdisciplinary education, combining the expertise of lecturers from legal and health sciences. The program’s activities include the development of educational modules designed to provide clear, accessible information about health rights, as well as interactive legal-health counseling sessions aimed at addressing specific concerns. Group discussions serve as a platform for individuals to engage with experts and peers, furthering their understanding of how to navigate healthcare systems and advocate for their rights. Additionally, printed materials are distributed to reinforce learning and serve as ongoing references for participants. The program targets communities with high needs for health literacy, focusing on empowering individuals to recognize their rights and take action to ensure their healthcare needs are met. It also encourages the collaboration of interdisciplinary academic staff, fostering a collective approach to community empowerment. By improving health literacy, the program aims to promote social equity and improve access to quality healthcare services for underserved populations. Through this initiative, participants are better equipped to make informed decisions regarding their health and advocate for fair treatment in the healthcare system.

Abstract

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are medical records compiled and stored through an electronic system used to support the provision of healthcare services. The implementation of EMR facilitates faster, more practical, and integrated patient data recording. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are designed to improve the efficiency, accessibility, and accuracy of patient information within healthcare institutions. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design through interviews to assess the readiness of EMR implementation in terms of the 5M management aspects (Man, Money, Material, Machine, Method) at Muhammadiyah General Hospital, Ponorogo Regency. The study sample consisted of 27 healthcare workers selected using a purposive sampling technique. The case study design allowed researchers to capture in-depth insights from healthcare workers directly involved in EMR implementation. The results showed that from the Man element, most healthcare workers were ready to use EMR, as indicated by their comfort and skills in operating the application. In the Money element, there is a system maintenance budget and support for EMR development in the inpatient unit and the Emergency Room. The Material element indicates the availability of adequate software, while the Machine element includes computer devices, internet connections, and a stable server to support users. These technological resources ensure a user-friendly and reliable system. The final element, Method, is demonstrated by the existence of clear SOPs and workflows, enabling healthcare workers to understand and effectively follow the EMR implementation process. Overall, the findings indicate that the hospital is institutionally prepared for EMR adoption.
