Abstract

This article tries to explain several points of 'Audah 's thoughts on kalam, syari'ah, qanun, and khawarij. 'Abd al-Qadir 'Audah is categorized as a great reformer who has revolutionary-minded. Along with his friends succeed to resurrect the Islamic doctrines in Egyptian society through the religious purification movement by using the slogan 'returning to the Qur'an and Sunnah'. Besides as great 'ulama’, he also deserved well for his country by overthrowing Faraouk, the tyrant king of Egypt, through the revolutionary action of 1952 in Egypt. Hence, it is logic if he was well-known as a great ulama and a revolutionary reformer of the twentieth century.

Abstract

Sejarah Islam di Spanyol khususnya Daulah Umayah II bisa dibagi menjadi lima periode. Periode pertama tahun 756-912 M. dipimpin oleh Khalifah Abdurrahman I, periode kedua tahun 912-1013 M. dipimpin oleh Khalifah Hisyam, periode ketiga tahun 1013-1086 M. dipimpin oleh Khalifah Hakam I, periode keempat tahun 1086-1248 M. dipimpin oleh Khalifah Abdurrahman II, dan periode kelima tahun 1248-1492 M. dipimpin oleh Khalifah Muhammad I. Kebijakan-kebijakan Khalifah Hakam II yaitu mengadakan upacara­upacara keagamaan dengan secara ketat dan melaksanakan ajaran-ajaran sunnah di seluruh wilayah kekuasaan Daulah Umayah II, Pembangunan Rumah Sakit Umum, Sarana Pemukiman, Sumber daya alam, Sarana transportasi, menjaga ketentraman dan toleransi. Peristiwa peperangan pun terjadi pada masa Khalifah Hakam II dengan kejadian orang-orang Kristen mulai bangkit untuk melakukan gerakan-gerakan perlawanan terhadap kekuasaan Daulah Umayah II. Tetapi kemajuan Daulah Umayah II pada masa Khalifah Hakam II terkenal pula kerena pengembangan ilmu dan kebudayaannya, mencintai kesusasteraan dan ilmu pengetahuan serta membiarkan kemewahan hatinya kepada para cendekiawan. Kata Kunci: Daulah Umayah, Khalifah, Sejarah Islam.

Abstract

Syari'a is religious value expressed functionally and concretely as a way that guides human 's life for virtue both in the World and in the hereafter. Islamic law (syari'a) is naturally put into effect in order to be Islamic law as a sub-system of National (positive) law. Based on the history of Banten, the sultanate of Banten had ever implemented the Islamic law as the law applied in the sultanate. It was based on the evidence that in the period of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, the amputation law for the ruslers had ever been applied. The historical religiosity and its actualization in Banten nowadats are potential to implement Islamic law comprehensively. Moreover, Bantenese society remains holding tightly on the Islamic values that have become the culture and principle in regulating their life as proven in the legislative of Banten that has issued local regulations of Islamic laws in the districts and cities of Banten. Optimalization of Islamic law implementation in Banten still goes on up to now through a significant numbers of the religious culture in the society, Islamic education institutions, religious proselytizing (dakwah), muamalah and al-akhwal syakhsiyyah. The challenge in endeavoring the implementation of Islamic law generally lies on the lack of the society's understanding on the detail and the meaning of Islamic law. The human sources of Banten (the strategic elites) support the implementation of Islamic law as both culture and values that can be absorbed in various law and regulations. Abstract

Pondok pesantren Muhammadiyah bercirikan mengintegrasikan pendidikan sekolah umum dengan pendidikan pesantren. Mencapai mutu pendidikan diperlukan kepemimpinan, kemampuan, kepercayaan dan kebijakan strategis mengelola lembaga pendidikan. Tujuan penelitian menganalisis kepemimpinan dan kebijakan strategis terhadap mutu pendidikan di lembaga pendidikan Islam. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus di Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Kota Serang. Data bersumber dari observasi, wawancara dan kajian pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan strategis yang tepat diterapkan MBS Kota Serang adalah memanfaatkan khususnya strategi kekuatan dan peluang untuk meningkatkan kualitas kepemimpinan, kebijakan strategis dan mutu pendidikan progresif dari periode sebelumnya. Adanya kebijakan strategi dengan kekuatan dan peluang menunjukkan bahwa MBS Kota Serang mengambil langkah-langkah untuk penguatan strategi dengan mencarikan sumber pendanaan yang baru, meningkatkan kepercayaan kepada masyarakat dengan sosialisasi yang lebih luas, meningkatkan kualitas kepemimpinan dan anggaran serta meningkatkan sumber daya dan insentif yang perlu di fokuskan pada lima tahun ke depan sebagai penguatan visi dan misi pesantren. Implikasi penelitian dengan kepemimpinan dan kebijakan strategis yang tepat akan mencapai mutu pendidikan.

Abstract

Democracy is very fundamental in the administration of the state based on the principles of popular sovereigbty, deliberation and consensus, not on personal, group or class interests. Constitutional democracy is the answer in limiting arbitrary government actions which is a fundamental principle based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution as the state constitution. This research uses a qualitative approach (literature review). The result of research on constitutional democracy based on the author’s analysis of Wahab Chasbullah’s thoughts are divided in two principles. First. The implementation of constitutional democracy is based on the principles of Islamic law which consists of asy-syuro, al-‘adalah, al-hurriyah an al-musawa and by maintaining human rights guarantees. Second. The implementation of democracy based on the objectives of Islamic law (maqashid asy-syariah) is the vision of Islamic law towards (hifdz ad-din), (hifdz an-nafs), (hifdz al-‘aql), (hifdz an-nasl), (hifdz mal). By paying attention to the protection of human honor (hifdz al-‘irdh), and the protection of the environment (hifdz al-bi’ah)

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article examines the existence and development of Islamic boarding schools in Banten from the perspective of the history of Islamic education. Islamic boarding schools as traditional Islamic educational institutions play an important role in shaping religious and character-based societies in Indonesia. In Banten, the existence of Islamic boarding schools cannot be separated from the role of the Banten Sultanate since the 16th century as a center for the spread of Islam and science. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach through library studies of historical and scientific sources. In this study, the researcher used descriptive research with Library Research studies. The results of the study show that Islamic boarding schools in Banten have experienced significant developments from time to time, including the colonial era, independence, to the contemporary era. Islamic boarding schools not only function as educational institutions, but also as centers of preaching, resistance to colonialism, and preservation of local Islamic culture. The transformation of Islamic boarding schools in the modern era shows their flexibility and resilience in facing the challenges of the times without losing their Islamic identity. This article emphasizes the importance of Islamic boarding schools as strategic Islamic educational institutions that are deeply rooted in the history of education in Indonesia.
