Abstract

The scientific approach in Islamic Religious Education aims to increase students' understanding through critical and creative thinking processes. Strategies that can be used by students include Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which focuses on students as the center of learning. This research aims to 1) analyze teacher strategies in optimizing PBL in PAI learning in Class XI of SMAN 1 Petir and 2) analyze the challenges faced in implementing PBL in PAI Learning in Class The research method used is a qualitative method, the data collection technique is through observation, interviews with PAI teacher informants/respondents at SMAN 1 Petir and documentation. The results of this research are 1) The teacher's strategy for optimizing PBL in PAI learning at SMAN 1 Petir is by guiding students through each stage of PBL, providing clear instructions at each stage and integrating technology into learning, such as the use of digital media; videos, powerpoints and the internet to explore teaching materials to make them broader and more varied so as to increase the effectiveness of the learning process and increase student activity in each learning process. 2) The challenges that occur in implementing PBL are the lack of student participation, especially in group discussions and time management during the learning process, because PBL learning has many learning stages so it requires quite a long time

Abstract

This study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the strategies employed by teachers to motivate students at madrasah aliyah in learning English, as well as how these strategies are applied in a madrasah aliyah located in Blitar. Data were collected through interviews with several English teachers and through direct classroom observations. The interview data were analyzed using a structured process involving transcription, familiarization, coding, theme identification, and reporting, as outlined by Darlington and Scott (2002). The findings revealed four key themes related to motivational strategies: creating a relaxed classroom environment, recognizing students' individual characteristics, connecting the learning process to real-life situations, and utilizing more creative teaching methods. This research offers valuable insights for both current and prospective educators in developing effective approaches to increase motivation among senior high school students in learning English.

Abstract

The research aims to analyse the potential application of the Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) method in uncovering the configuration of managerial factors that contribute to the effectiveness of education management, and to evaluate the relevance of QCA as a set-theoretical approach in strategic decision-making of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) in higher education. This research employs a qualitative approach, drawing on systematic literature reviews and case studies from educational management, particularly those examining university governance and institutional performance. The results show that (QCA) has a strong potential to uncover the configuration of managerial factors that contribute to the effectiveness of education management and the (SPMI) in higher education, not through a single variable but through a combination of conditions such as the strength of SPMI implementation, the application of Good University Governance (GUG) principles, Leadership support, and a consistent quality evaluation system. This research contributes by offering a conceptual framework for applying QCA in educational management and by providing research recommendations.
