Abstract

Background: Increasing cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia every day and creating new clusters. One of the reasons for the increase in cases is the level of knowledge about COVID-19. Knowledge is a person's foundation in practicing his activities every day. A good practice is based on a good level of knowledge.Objectives: The research objective is to see an overview of the knowledge and practices of Indonesian society in dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak.Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design with 6,557 respondents, the criteria were above 16 years old who live in Indonesia. The research was conducted in June 2020. The questionnaire is an e-survey using google form media and is distributed via social media (Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram). The knowledge and practice of the people in this statistical analysis used only univariate analysis.Results: The results show that in general the knowledge of the Indonesian people is correct from the 12 questions asked. The mean score of knowledge of male respondents was 75.13±29.47, while for women it was 77.16±26.50. The average practice score of male respondents was 81.33±19.95, while the female respondents were 87.18±16.13.Conclusion: The higher the knowledge, the better the community practices in preventing and reducing the transmission of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Abstract

Clean and healthy behavior (CHB) is one of the activities to change unhealthy behaviors into healthy ones. PHBS should be applied early, especially in school-age children by getting a healthy breakfast and washing hands. The benefits of breakfast include being a source of energy so as to prevent students from consuming unhealthy snacks, besides washing hands before or after the activity is also an important thing that needs to be accustomed early on. The purpose of this activity is to increase students' knowledge about PHBS through healthy breakfast education and good hand washing. The method used in this activity is education through powerpoint and poster media. This activity was attended by 6th grade students at SDN 1 Ciawi and SDN 2 Ciawi in Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java, with a total number of 80 students. Before and after the delivery of material students are given questions to see the level of success of this activity. Based on the results of the evaluation showed that an increase in student knowledge is expected to be able to increase students' understanding of healthy breakfast and good hand washing

Abstract

In March 2020 the public was shocked by the Covid-19 pandemic which began to spread to Indonesian territory. Covid-19 is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 or SARS-CoV-2) and is an infectious disease. Naturally, Covid-19 pandemic affects people's attitudes to adopt a healthier lifestyle. The research objective was to analyze the description of the attitudes and lifestyles of the Indonesian people during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used a cross-sectional design with random sampling and data collection was done by distributing online questionnaires via WhatsApp. Data analysis used the univariate test with the number of respondents as many as 6.557 people. The results showed that the attitudes of respondents regarding the Covid-19 pandemic obtained 6.136 respondents agreed that Covid-19 could be controlled, 6.038 respondents agreed that Indonesia would be free from the coronavirus and 6.489 respondents agreed that consumption of balanced nutritional food, maintaining distance and washing hands properly can prevent the transmission of Covid-19. A total of 3,861 respondents did physical activity less than 3 times a week, 6.234 respondents processed their food, 3,309 respondents sometimes consumed fruit and vegetables, 5.111 respondents always washed their hands using running water and soap, 3.576 respondents sometimes sunbathing above 9 o'clock. Overall, the respondents' behavior towards pandemic conditions shows an optimistic attitude that they can avoid Covid-19 by making healthier lifestyle changes.

Abstract

Meniran tea is a functional beverage that contains a variety of active components. Meniran tea contains a variety of active components including flavonoids which act as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to study the formulation of meniran leaf tea (Phyllanthus niruri) as a functional drink. The design used in this study is an experimental design with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Meniran leaf tea formulation is done by mixing dried meniran leaves with dry black tea leaves with formulations 25%, 50%, and 75%. Organoleptic test results (hedonic and hedonic quality) were analyzed by statistical tests using the Kruskal-Wallis test, while antioxidant capacity data would be analyzed by ANOVA statistical tests. Analysis of antioxidant capacity was carried out using the Spectrophotometry method. Organoleptic test results showed that the hedonic quality parameters typical aroma tea is in the range (2,45 – 2,93), the typical aroma of meniran (2,86 – 3,10), bitter taste (3,76 – 4,45), taste foreign (2,83 – 3,38), and steeping color (1,52 – 3,21). The hedonic organoleptic test showed that the beverage aroma parameters were in the range (3,31 – 3,34), taste (1,96 – 2,55) and steeping color (3,07 – 3,65). Antioxidant capacity test shows that F3 functional drinks have the highest antioxidant content of 87,3%. Overall F1 meniran tea (25% meniran leaves, 75% black tea leaves) is the best formula based on organoleptic test results and antioxidant capacity.Teh meniran merupakan minuman fungsional yang memiliki kandungan berbagai komponen aktif. Teh Meniran mengandung berbagai komponen aktif diantaranya golongan flavonoid berperan sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari formulasi teh daun Meniran (Phyllanthus niruri) sebagai minumal fungsional. Desain penelitian ini yaitu eksperimental melalui Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Formulasi teh daun meniran dilakukan dengan mencampurkan daun meniran kering dengan daun teh hitam kering dengan formulasi 25%, 50%, dan 75%. Data hasil uji organoleptik (hedonik dan mutu hedonik) dianalisis dengan uji statistik menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis, sedangkan data kapasitas antioksidan akan dianalisis dengan uji statistik ANOVA. Analisis kapasitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Spektrofotometri. Hasil uji organoleptik mutu hedonik menunjukkan bahwa parameter aroma khas teh berada pada kisaran (2,45 – 2,93),  aroma khas meniran (2,86 – 3,10), rasa pahit (3,76 – 4,45), rasa asing ( 2,83 – 3,38), dan warna seduhan (1,52 – 3,21). Uji organoleptik hedonik menunjukkan bahwa parameter aroma minuman berada pada kisaran (3,31 – 3,34), rasa (1,96 – 2,55) dan warna seduhan (3,07 – 3,65). Uji kapasitas antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa minuman fungsional F3 memiliki kandungan antioksidan paling tinggi sebesar 87,3%. Secara keseluruhan teh meniran F1(25% daun meniran, 75% daun teh hitam) merupakan formula yang terbaik berdasarkan hasil uji organoleptik dan uji kapasitas antioksidan.

Abstract

Penyakit degeneratif merupakan penyakit kronik yang banyak mempengaruhi kualitas hidup serta produktivitas seseorang. Penyakit degeneratif tersebut antara lain penyakit kardiovaskuler,hipertensi, diabetes mellitus dan kanker. Penyebab utama peningkatan penyakit ini adalah perubahan gaya hidup. Pola makan yang kurang memperhatikan keseimbangan antara asupan dan kebutuhan makan serta gaya hidup sedentary menjadi penyebab utama sebagian besar gangguan degeneratif. Upaya pencegahan penyakit degeneratif dimulai dengan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terkait pola hidup ke arah yang lebih sehat. Salah satu pencegahan yang dapat dilakukan untuk terhindar dari penyakit degeneratif adalah dengan konsumsi makanan tinggi serat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan keluarga melalui program edukasi pangan tinggi serat berbahan sorgum serta pelatihan pembuatan makanan tinggi serat dalam rangka meningkatkan kesehatan khususnya pada ibu-ibu PKK. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 30 Ibu-Ibu PKK dari Kelurahan Talagasari dan Kelurahan Gununggede Kota Tasikmalaya. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan cara penyuluhan mengenai penyakit degeneratif dan pangan tinggi serat serta memberikan pelatihan pengolahan makanan berbahan dasar sorgum. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menggunakan kuesioner pre- dan post- test menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan ibu-ibu PKK.

Abstract

Kebugaran jasmani yang baik merupakan hal penting yang harus dimiliki oleh mahasiswa Penjas karena pembelajaran yang menitikberatkan aktivitas fisik sehingga dituntut untuk memiliki tubuh dengan kondisi fisik baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meganalisis hubungan antara pola makan dan status gizi dengan tingkat kebugaran jasmani pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Jasmani (Penjas) angkatan 2022 Universitas Siliwangi, Tasikmalaya. Desain penelitian yang diterapkan adalah cross sectional atau penelitian potong lintang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 175 mahasiswa Penjas angkatan 2022 Universitas Siliwangi. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data adalah formulir food recall 2x24 jam, kuesioner Individual Dietary Diversity Score (IDDS), timbangan berat badan digital, microtoise, formulir pencatatan bleep test. Hasil data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden (52,6%) termasuk ke dalam tingkat kecukupan energi (TKE) kategori baik, sebagian besar (54,3%) responden termasuk ke dalam jumlah jenis bahan makanan kategori sedang, sebagian besar (58,3%) responden termasuk ke dalam frekuensi makan kategori baik, sebagian besar (73,1%) responden memiliki status gizi baik dan sebagian besar (52%) responden termasuk ke dalam tingkat kebugaran jasmani kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik TKE dengan status gizi diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,003 (<0,05). Nilai signifikansi jumlah jenis bahan makanan dengan status gizi adalah 0,000 (<0,05). Nilai signfikansi frekuensi makan dengan status gizi adalah 0,006 (<0,05). Nilai signifikansi status gizi dengan tingkat kebugaran jasmani adalah 0,003 (<0,05). Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara pola makan (TKE, jumlah jenis bahan makanan dan frekuensi makan) dan status gizi dengan tingkat kebugaran jasmani. Bagi responden penelitian diharapkan untuk memperhatikan pola makan dan tingkat kebugaran jasmaninya.

Abstract

ABSTRAKStunting adalah akibat dari kekurangan gizi jangka panjang dan mengganggu upaya untuk mencapai tingkat perkembangan mental dan fisik yang ideal. Stunting pada anak meningkatkan risiko kematian, gangguan perkembangan motorik, gangguan bahasa, dan ketidakseimbangan fungsional. Upaya pencegahan stunting perlu diimbangi dengan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan para kader dan orang tua sebagai ujung tombak pelayanan. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam membantu penanggulangan masalah gizi melalui Pemberian Makan Bayi dan Anak (PMBA). Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan keluarga melalui peningkatan pengetahun dan keterampilan kader posyandu dan ibu balita mengenai edukasi dan pelatihan PMBA dalam bentuk pembuatan MPASI. Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan kepada 21 peserta yang terdiri dari kader posyandu dan ibu balita pada tanggal 08 Juli 2023 di Madrasah Al-Istiqomah, Kahuripan, Kota Tasikamalaya. Hasilnya menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peserta antara sebelum (66,71) dan setelah edukasi (88,57). Edukasi gizi terbukti efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan kader posyandu dan ibu balita mengenai PMBA. Kata kunci: kader posyandu; stunting; balita. ABSTRACTStunting is the result of long-term malnutrition and interferes with achieving an ideal level of mental and physical development. Stunting in children increases the risk of death, impaired motor development, language disorders, and functional imbalances. Stunting prevention efforts need to be balanced with increased knowledge and skills of cadres and parents as the spearhead of services. One of the efforts to increase knowledge and skills in helping to overcome nutritional problems is through Infant and Child Feeding (IYCF). This community service activity aims to improve family health through increasing the knowledge and skills of posyandu cadres and mothers of toddlers regarding IYCF education and training in the form of making MPASI. Community service was carried out for 21 participants consisting of posyandu cadres and mothers of toddlers on July 8, 2023 at Madrasah Al-Istiqomah, Kahuripan, Tasikamalaya City. The results showed that there was an increase in participants' knowledge between before (66.71) and after education (88.57). Nutrition education has been proven to be effective in increasing the knowledge of posyandu cadres and mothers of toddlers about IYCF. Keywords: posyandu cadres; stunting; toddler.

Abstract

Stunting as a result of chronic nutritional problems in the long term. Height for age -2 Standard Deviation (SD) is called stunting. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the diversity of food consumption and nutrient intake with the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months. The method of this research was analytic observational with cross sectional design. The population of this study were all children under five in Sukaratu Village, Sukaresik District as many as 364 people. The subject of this study was toddlers aged 24-59 months, obtained as many as 76 subject. Sampling using Proportional Random Sampling technique. The statistical test used is Chi-square. There was a significant relationship between stunting and food diversity (OR 6,1) energy intake (OR 5,6), protein intake (OR 8,8), carbohydrate intake (OR 3.9), and fat intake (OR 8,5). Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by prolonged insufficient intake of nutrients due to inappropriate feeding practices over an extended period. Based on interviews with community health workers and mothers of toddlers in the Karanganyar area, the high prevalence of stunting is suspected to be due to the lack of understanding among the community regarding the importance of nutrition for child growth and development. Therefore, a solution that can be pursued involves the creation of locally sourced complementary feeding (MPASI) that is economically friendly yet rich in nutritional content, through the introduction of the Stunting Alert Kitchen (Dapur Hidup Siaga Stunting) using the budikdamber method and chaya cultivation. The implementation of this solution includes Focus Group Discussions (FGD), Stunting Alert Kitchen training and practice sessions for budikdamber and chaya cultivation, as well as guidance, monitoring, and evaluation. The outcomes of these activities include enthusiastic participation from the attendees. The sessions began with an introduction to chaya cultivation. Cultivating chaya plants is relatively simple as they do not require special treatment. Growing chaya in household gardens can support the household's food security by providing nutritious vegetables, enhancing overall health, and ensuring optimal nutritional intake. The subsequent activity involved budikdamber training. The advantage of budikdamber is its ability to serve as a means of fish cultivation in buckets without the need for pond space. It also allows for hydroponic cultivation of vegetables, which piqued the interest of mothers of toddlers.

Abstract

Background: Hemodialysis is an alternative therapy to replace kidney function for people with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Proper dialysis procedures must be maintained to maintain nutritional balance. Failure in the dialysis procedure results in loss of nutrients in the dialysate, which can increase catabolism and acid reflux.Objectives: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the length of hemodialysis and appetite and the nutritional status of CKD patients receiving hemodialysis therapy twice a week at UPTDK RSUD Dr. Soekardjo City of Tasikmalaya in 2023.Methods: The research design used cross-sectional with consecutive sampling, namely as many as 69 CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis—statistical analysis using a chi-square test.Results: Most of the respondents (73,9%) had been on hemodialysis for a long time (≥24 months), most of the respondents (76,8%) had less appetite, and the majority of respondents (78,3%) were malnourished. The results of the correlation test showed that there was a relationship between the length of hemodialysis with appetite (p = 0,022 and OR = 4,3; 95% CI = 1,298-14,240) and nutritional status (p = 0,000 and OR = 11,5; 3, 103-42,621).Conclusion: Length of hemodialysis in patients with CKD has a significant relationship with appetite and nutritional status
