Abstract

Konflik merupakan salah satu persoalan yang dihadapi gereja yang seringkali mengakibatkan perpecahan dan penurunan partisipasi jemaat dalam persekutuan. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi penggembalaan Rasul Paulus sebagaimana tertuang dalam 1 Korintus 3:1-9 dan relevansinya terhadap penjangkauan anak muda di GBI Pasko Bandung dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan studi pustaka. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa strategi penggembalaan Rasul Paulus adalah: (1) Paulus berusaha menciptakan komunikasi yang positif, (2) Paulus berusaha menghubungkan praktek pelayanan dengan ajaran Kristen, (3) menggunakan media surat untuk mengatasi kesulitan berkomunikasi pada waktu itu. Relevansinya dalam penggembalaan anak muda di GBI Pasko Bandung adalah: (1) menggembalakan anak muda dengan komunikasi yang positif, (2) mengajak anak muda menghadapi perbedaan secara dewasa, (3) menguatkan iman anak muda dengan pengajaran. Selain itu untuk mengatasi keterbatasan menjangkau anak-anak muda bisa menggunakan berbagai media komunikasi dewasa ini seperti gagdet agar mereka bisa disentuh secara personal.

Abstract

Views about marriage are changing. Factors such as culture, environment, and family also influence. Several studies show the number of people who choose not to marry has increased due to economic reasons, the trauma of divorce, or lifestyle choices. This paper aims to find a biblical perspective on a person's choice to marry or not to marry. The research used in this paper, which is a qualitative method of literature study, finds that a person's choice to marry or not to marry must be focused and based on God's will, not because of personal considerations. This paper is expected to help the church to provide guidance and biblical teaching for the congregation so that they can make decisions according to God's will.  AbstrakPandangan tentang pernikahan mengalami perubahan. Faktor seperti kebudayaan, lingkungan, dan keluarga ikut memengaruhi. Beberapa studi menunjukkan jumlah orang yang memilih untuk tidak menikah mengalami peningkatan dikarenakan alasan ekonomi, trauma perceraian ataupun pilihan gaya hidup. Tulisan ini bertujuan menemukan perspektif Alkitab tentang pilihan seseorang untuk menikah atau tidak menikah. Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini, yaitu metode kualitatif studi pustaka, menemukan pilihan seseorang untuk menikah atau tidak menikah harus berfokus dan berdasar kepada kehendak Tuhan bukannya karena pertimbangan pribadi. Tulisan ini diharapkan membantu gereja untuk memberikan bimbingan dan pengajaran Alkitabiah untuk jemaat agar dapat mengambil keputusan yang sesuai kehendak Tuhan.

Abstract

Abstract. The position of pastor often brings its own psychological burden to their children. They often face excessive expectations related to their parents' position. As a result, pastor's children may experience stress or even have lower life satisfaction compared to their peers whose parents are not pastors. Some even start doubting their Christian faith and no longer call themselves Christians. This paper aimed to show how the narrative approach applied in pneumatological counselling can help pastors' kids to establish their unique position and role as pastors' kids. The method used in this study was a literature study. Through this study, it was found that the narrative approach in pneumatological counselling helps to construct a new narrative so that pastor children can understand themselves well, apart from the narrative that has been constructed by their environment.Abstrak. Jabatan sebagai pendeta kerap kali membawa beban psikologis tersendiri bagi anak-anak pendeta. Mereka seringkali menghadapi ekspektasi yang berlebihan terkait dengan jabatan orang tuanya. Akibatnya, anak pendeta bisa mengalami stres atau bahkan memiliki kepuasan hidup yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan teman-temannya yang orang tuanya bukan pendeta. Beberapa bahkan meragukan iman Kristen mereka dan tidak lagi menyebut diri mereka Kristen. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bagaimana pendekatan naratif yang diterapkan dalam konseling pneumatologis dapat membantu anak-anak pendeta untuk membangun posisi dan peran mereka yang unik sebagai anak-anak pendeta. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah studi pustaka. Melalui kajian ini diperoleh hasil bahwa pendekatan naratif dalam konseling pneumatologis membantu menyusun narasi baru sehingga anak-anak pendeta dapat memahami dirinya sendiri dengan baik, lepas dari narasi yang selama ini dikonstruksi oleh lingkungannya.

Abstract

Rudolf Bultmann introduced a hermeneutic method known as demythologizing. The authors believe that his method can be utilized to communicate the truth in postmodern era as it takes into account today’s human perspective. His approach provides the reader space to make meaning the truth in the Bible. It also makes the Gospel message urgent and requires a response from the hearers. To put forward such argument, this research will describe the characteristics of postmodern era, postmodern humans, Christian faith in the postmodern era and a little about the acceptance of Bultmann’s demythologizing. It aims to describe a point of view that places such approach in the midst of postmodern human thought. Although Bultmann tends to be avoided and is often considered heretical, the authors hope that readers can view Bultmann objectively so that they can see that his approach is indeed useful to bridge the communication gap with postmodern humans.  AbstrakRudolf Bultmann memperkenalkan metode hermeneutik yang dikenal sebagai demitologi. Penulis percaya bahwa metodenya dapat digunakan untuk mengkomunikasikan kebenaran di era postmodern karena memperhitungkan perspektif manusia saat ini. Pendekatannya memberikan ruang kepada pembaca untuk membuat makna dari kebenaran dalam Alkitab. Pendekatannya juga membuat pesan Injil bersifat mendesak dan membutuhkan tanggapan dari para pendengarnya. Untuk mengemukakan argumen tersebut, penelitian ini akan mendeskripsikan karakteristik era postmodern, manusia postmodern, iman Kristen di era postmodern dan sedikit tentang penerimaan demitologi Bultmann. Tujuannya adalah untuk menggambarkan suatu sudut pandang yang menempatkan metode tersebut di tengah-tengah pemikiran manusia postmodern. Meskipun Bultmann cenderung dihindari dan seringkali dianggap sesat, penulis berharap bahwa pembaca penelitian ini dapat melihat Bultmann secara objektif sehingga mereka dapat melihat bahwa pendekatannya memang berguna untuk menjembatani kesenjangan komunikasi dengan manusia postmodern.

Abstract

While Christian teaching on marriage between a believer and an unbeliever is clear, the one between couples from different church traditions is not as straightforward. Although sharing several core beliefs, the differences that exist between the Protestant Church and the Roman Catholics are too real to be ignored. Besides, ignoring them may result in complications and conflicts in marriage life later. The research method used in this writing, which is a qualitative literature study, finds that there are several factors to be satisfied to build a strong marriage. This writing hopes to assist Protestant and Roman Catholic couples to assess their decision to get married by raising their awareness of some relevant differences between the two churches tradition. This writing will discuss the pillars of strong marriage, differences and similarities between Protestant and Roman Catholic teachings as well as some underlying conditions to be met to make a strong union between the two. Ajaran Kristen tentang pernikahan antara orang percaya dan orang yang tidak percaya cukuplah jelas. Namun, pandangan Kristen tentang pernikahan pasangan yang berasal dari dua tradisi gereja yang berbeda tidaklah demikian. Meskipun memiliki beberapa kepercayaan inti yang sama, namun perbedaan yang ada di antara gereja Kristen Protestan dan Katolik Roma terlalu nyata untuk diabaikan. Lagipula, apabila diabaikan, perbedaan ini dapat mengakibatkan timbulnya masalah dan konflik di dalam rumah tangga kelak. Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini, yaitu metode kualitatif studi pustaka, menemukan bahwa ada faktor yang harus dipenuhi agar sebuah pernikahan dapat dibangun dengan kokoh. Tulisan ini diharapkan dapat membantu pasangan dari latar belakang Kristen Protestan dan Katolik Roma untuk mempertimbangkan keputusan mereka untuk menikah dengan meningkatkan kesadaran mereka akan beberapa perbedaan yang relevan antara kedua tradisi gereja. Tulisan ini akan membahas tentang pilar pernikahan yang kokoh, perbedaan dan persamaan antara ajaran Protestan dan Katolik Roma serta beberapa syarat mendasar yang harus dipenuhi untuk menyatukan keduanya.

Abstract

Paul’s theological view on women in church leadership is often misinterpreted if not misunderstood. It is true that at first glance, his prohibitions and policies for women sound degrading the women’s role. Yet, the application of the appropriate hermeneutical approach to his writings such as in 1 Corinths 11:2-16, 1 Corinths 14:34-35 and 1 Timothy 2:9-14 will show that Paul is never against women leading the church. This writing hopes to expand the church’s perspective on women’s leadership so that the church can provide women with the same opportunity as for the men in building up the body of Christ. On the other hand, it hopes to empower more women to take on leadership roles in the church without hesitation.  Pandangan teologis Rasul Paulus terhadap kepemimpinan wanita di gereja seringkali diterjemahkan dengan keliru atau disalah pahami. Jika dilihat secara sekilas, larangan dan aturan yang ia berikan kepada wanita terdengar merendahkan mereka. Namun, penerapan pendekatan hermeneutika yang sesuai dengan tulisan-tulisannya seperti dalam 1 Korintus 11:2-16, 1 Korintus 14:34-35 dan 1 Timotius 2:9-14 akan menunjukkan bahwa Rasul Paulus tidak pernah menentang wanita untuk memegang jabatan kepemimpinan di gereja. Tulisan ini diharapkan dapat memperluas perspektif gereja tentang kepemimpinan wanita sehingga wanita dapat memiliki kesempatan yang sama layaknya pria dalam membangun tubuh Kristus. Di sisi lain, gereja juga diharapkan untuk dapat memberdayakan lebih banyak lagi wanita untuk mengambil peran dalam kepemimpinan gereja tanpa ragu.

Abstract

Sustainable church leadership is a pressing challenge for many local congregations amid rapid social and technological changes. The core issue addressed in this study is the absence of a structured mentoring strategy for nurturing prospective spiritual leaders, resulting in stagnation within the church’s leadership pipeline. The purpose of this study is to develop a leadership mentoring model based on Jesus Christ’s discipleship pattern as depicted in the Gospel of Mark, providing a relevant and applicable framework for local church contexts. The study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach combined with exegetical analysis of Mark 1:16–20, 3:13–19, 6:7–13, and 16:15–18. The data were collected through a systematic review of biblical texts, and analyzed exegetically to identify the key stages and dynamics of Jesus’ mentoring of the disciples. The results reveal four distinct phases of the mentoring process: a divine call, character formation, active ministry engagement, and commissioning for global mission. In conclusion, these findings form the basis for the LEAD (Locate, Empower, Act, Deploy) mentoring model, offering a structured and practical approach for local churches to cultivate spiritually mature leaders who are both mission-ready and capable of reproducing this discipleship process across generations.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore and understand pastoral care can be more effective in helping the elderly in orphanages by implementing a holistic approach in accordance with the development of the times, as well as providing an understanding of how to overcome the limitations of traditional methods in pastoral care for the elderly in the modern era. The research method used is a qualitative approach, namely a literature study of e-books, journals, and books, related to the topic of discussion, and using an interview method involving the elderly, administrators, to gain deeper insight into the spiritual needs of the elderly. The results of the study indicate that pastoral care contributes positively to the spirituality of the elderly, increasing a sense of connectedness to the community and improving mental health, while the use of technology such as social media has proven effective in expanding the reach of services. The conclusion of this study is that pastoral care for the elderly in orphanages in the modern era is faced with significant challenges that require a more holistic and innovative approach. Traditional methods are considered inadequate to meet the complex emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the elderly, such as feelings of loneliness, isolation, and physical limitations. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of utilizing technology, such as video calls and digital platforms, to create deeper and more personal interactions.

Abstract

This paper examines the theological role of the Holy Spirit as Spiritus Eschaton—the Spirit who guarantees, seals, and fulfills God’s plan of salvation—in response to renewed eschatological debates sparked by the viral “rapture” rumor of September 2025. Using theological hermeneutics and historical analysis of biblical Greek and Hebrew texts, as well as early church traditions, the study explores the concept of arrabōn tou pneumatos (“the guarantee of the Spirit”) in Ephesians 1:13–14 and 2 Corinthians 1:22. It finds that the Holy Spirit serves as tangible proof of believers living between the age of grace and the age of fulfillment. The paper concludes that the church should not be driven by fear of apocalyptic events but should instead focus on faith and the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit in facing the end times with hope.

Abstract

AbstractThe spiritual awakening on Azusa Street in 1906 was a continuation of previous Christian movements and became the starting point for the birth of the modern Pentecostal movement. This research aims to analyze the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, particularly the gift of tongues, and its influence on the development of Pentecostal church theology. The method used is a qualitative study with a historical and theological approach. The results of the study show that glossolalia is seen as the main evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but it causes differences in views among various Christian traditions. This study emphasizes the importance of a contextual and inclusive understanding in assessing the meaning of the gift of the Holy Spirit for the church today. Keywords: Azusa Street, Holy Spirit, Tongues, Pentecostal Thelogy, Glossolalia  AbstrakKebangkitan rohani di Azusa Street tahun 1906 merupakan kelanjutan dari gerakan kekristenan sebelumnya dan menjadi titik awal lahirnya gerakan Pentakosta modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manifestasi Roh Kudus, khususnya karunia bahasa roh, dan pengaruhnya terhadap perkembangan teologi gereja Pentakosta. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kualitatif dengan pendekatan historis dan teologis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa glossolalia dipandang sebagai salah satu bukti utama baptisan Roh Kudus, namun menimbulkan perbedaan pandangan di antara berbagai tradisi Kristen.
