Abstract

The translation of Arabic books in Indonesia can’t be separated from some motives. At least, there are five motives of the translation, i.e. religious, educational, economic, ideological, and prevocational motives. Religious motive can be seen in the translator’s statements that his/her works are aimed to get a blessing from Allah. Educational motive can be seen in the fact that these works are aimed to give Islamic knowledge to the muslim community. Economical advantages are the most powerful motivations that publishers try to get by publishing Arabic translations books. In another hand, the ideological motive is one of the factors that the translators or publishers want to propagate their Islamic ideological among Indonesian Muslim community by mean of their translation works. Prevocational motive can be seen in translator intention to stimulate critical Islamic discourse in Indonesia by mean of translating Arabic books written by some Middle East critical writers.

Abstract

Abstract In fact, Arabic in Indonesia has been studied since Islam entered Indonesia, because Arabic is the language of two main sources of Islamic teachings, and is also used in the rituals of prayer, dhikr and prayer. Religious motivation is the most significant why Arabic is still studied in Indonesia until now. However, learning Arabic in Indonesia has not shown brilliant success, especially in the four language skills comprehensively. This article aims to explore the challenges and prospects of studying Arabic in Indonesia. Currently, Arabic studies are facing challenges, among others: first in terms of objectives. There is confusion between learning Arabic as a goal, namely mastering language proficiency, and learning Arabic as a tool for mastering other knowledge that uses Arabic as its source. Second, in terms of the types of Arabic that are studied, whether classical Arabic, modern or everyday Arabic. Third in terms of the method, there is uncertainty between maintaining the old method and using the new method. Linguistic and non-linguistic problems also play a role in disrupting the smooth study of Arabic for Indonesian students. However, all of that did not reduce the enthusiasm of Indonesians in learning Arabic. This is proven by the establishment of Arabic Language Study Program in several universities. Learners of Arabic also don't need to worry, because the translating profession can become their career choice Keywords: Arabic Language Challenges, Arabic Prospects, Arabic Studies. Abstrak Sesungguhnya, bahasa Arab di Indonesia telah dipelajari sejak Islam masuk ke Indonesia, karena bahasa Arab adalah bahasa yang digunakan dalam dua sumber utama ajaran Islam, dan juga digunakan dalam ritual shalat, berdzikir dan berdoa. Motivasi religius menjadi motivasi paling signifikan mengapa bahasa Arab masih dipelajari di Indonesia sampai sekarang ini. Namun demikian, pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Indonesia belum menunjukkan kesuksesan yang gemilang, terutama dalam penerapan empat kemahiran secara komprehensif. Artikel ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi tantangan dan prospek studi bahasa Arab di Indonesia. Sesunguhnya, sekarang ini studi bahasa Arab sedang menghadapi tantangan antara lain: pertama dari segi tujuan. Terdapat kerancuan antara mempelajari bahasa Arab sebagai tujuan, yakni menguasai kemahiran berbahasa, dan mempelajari bahasa Arab sebagai alat untuk menguasai pengetahuan lain yang menggunakan bahasa Arab sebagai wahananya. Kedua dari segi jenis bahasa Arab yang dipelajari, apakah bahasa Arab klasik, modern atau bahasa Arab sehari-hari. Ketiga dari segi metode, terdapat kegamangan antara mempertahankan metode lama dan menggunakan metode baru. Problem linguistik dan non linguistik juga berperan dalam mengganggu kelancaran studi bahasa Arab untuk siswa Indonesia. Namun demikian, semua itu tidak mengurangi semangat orang Indonesia dalam mempelajari bahasa Arab. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan berdirinya prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab di beberapa perguruan tinggi. Para pembelajar bahasa Arab juga tidak perlu khawatir, karena profesi penerjemah bisa menjadi pilihan karier mereka. Kata Kunci: Tantangan Bahasa Arab, Prospek Bahasa Arab, Studi bahasa Arab

Abstract

AbstrakGuru kelas menjadi “Ujung Tombak” dalam menumbuhkan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter pada siswa di sekolah dasar. Dari tugas, peran dan kegiatan peroses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar guru kelas memiliki waktu interaksi yang paling sering dengan siswa dari pada guru mata pelajaran. Kenyataanya guru kelas sebagian besar hanya mengetahui bahwa tugasnya adalah menata dan mengelola kelas; mengontrol kehadiran siswa; menyusun administrasi kelas dan melaksanakan bimbingan dan konseling kelas yang menjadi tanggung jawabnya. Penelitian ini untuk mengkaji bagaimana pelaksanaan guru kelas dalam menumbuhkan nilai-nilai karakter pada siswa di dua lembaga pendidikan yang keduanya sama-sama mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter akan tetapi memiliki Background yang berbeda. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian yaitu Purposive Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data mengunakan multi teknik dan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data deksriptif analisis dengan tahapan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.Peneliti memberikan gambaran bahwa strategi pendidikan karakter guru kelas yang ideal adalah menjadikan pendidikan yang mampu memberikan kesadaran dari berbagai pihak. Strategi yang dapat dilakukan oleh guru kelas adalah : 1) Pengintegrasian nilai-nilai karakter dalam setiap mata pelajaran (RPP), 2) pembelajaran intrakulikuler (Pengalaman Belajar), 3) proses pengembangan diri atau pembelajaran ekstakulikuler 4) pembudayaan atau pembiasaan baik yang di lakukan dalam kelas maupun luar kelas, dan 5) kerjasama yang dilakukan guru kelas dengan semua pihak baik di sekolah maupun dengan keluarga dan masyarakat. Kata Kunci : Strategi, Guru Kelas, Nilai-nilai Karakter, Peserta DidikAbstractClassroom teacher as “Stakeholder” in fostering the character values of education of student in elementary school. According to the responsibility, role and learning process of elementary school, classroom teacher has the most interaction time with student than subject teacher. In fact, most of classroom teachers only handled their responsibility to organize and manage class, control the student’s present, prepare the administrative matters of class and apply the guidance and counceling functions. This research was to examine how the implementation of classroom teacher in fostering the values of student character in two educational institutions that have a purpose to implement character education value with different background.This research is a qualitative research. The research source of this research is porposive sampling. The data collecting technique using multiple technique and in this research using descriptive data analysis technique. Afterwards, the data will be analize step by step by data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion.The researcher suggested that the proper strategy of character education of classroom teacher to make an education capable of providing awareness to all of sides. The strategues that can be applied by classroom teacher were : 1. Integrating the values in every subject (RPP) 2. Intracullicular learning (experience learning) 3. Self-development or extracurricular learning 4. Habituation of excellent behaviour both in the classroom and outside, and 5. Abstract

The entrepreneurial values such as independent, creativity, risk-taking ability, and responsibility play an important role in directing early childhood development, especially in the aspect of social-emotional, language, and cognitive. Khalifah kindergarten which is based on entrepreneurship, support the life skills development of children with several of excellent programs for example Market Day. This study is intended to know the reason of Khalifah Kindergarten in applying entrepreneurship program, the process and impact of the program on the aspects of early childhood development. The findings of this study are: first, Khalifah Kindergarten wants to achieve its mission in integrating entrepreneurial values in all aspects of early childhood development by introducing them to become Muslims entrepreneur. Second, the process of increasing the entrepreneurial values is implemented through Beyond Centre and Circle Time (BCCT) learning system, entrepreneurship activities such as market day, cooking classes, field trips, angklung music as an extracurricular activity, and habituation through continuous interviews with the students. Third, the impact of entrepreneurial values can be proved in several aspects of development. In the social-emotional aspect, the children have empathy for others. In the cognitive aspect, the children have creative thinking. In an aspect of linguistic development, they become communicative, and in the physical-motor aspect, the children have the high spirit to produce a work.

Abstract

The paper aims to describe the child education in Serat Wulang Sunu written by Sunan Pakubuwono IV. The writer focuses on content, purpose, subject matter, a method of education and also the relevance of educational values of Serat Wulang Sunu currently. The result is Serat Wulang Sunu teach the children behavioral ethics to parent and the other. The education purpose is creating the child dutiful to the parents as a child ideal profile. Subject matter thought by Serat Wulang Sunu involved politeness, respect to parents, command, and prohibition with parents. The method that used in Serat Wulang Sunu thought through the advice, prohibition, threat, and an appointment. The thought and education values in Serat Wulang Sunu still relevance when used in the education system today. Serat Wulang Sunu has universal thought and values that must be preserved for human life.هذه الكتابة لتصريح تربية الطّللّاب في " Serat Wulang Sunu" لسنن فاكوبووانا. اما تركين هذا البحث هو التضمين, والهدف, والمادة, ومنهج الدراسة, ومنهج التربية في "سورة وولاع سونو" ثم صلح القيم التربوية في " Serat Wulang Sunu " مع تعليم الحالي. هذا النوع من البحوث هو دراسة الأدب. تم تحليل البيانات باستخدام تحليل المحتوى. نتائج هذه الدراسة هي محتويات التعاليم  في " Serat Wulang Sunu " هو زراعة القيم التعبدية للأطفال ليكون لديهم موقف طاعة الوالدين. الغرض من التعليم هو تكوين أطفال مطيعين لأولياء الأمور كالملف المثالي للطفل. المادة التي يتم تدريسها في" Serat Wulang Sunu " هو تعليم القيم العالمية. الطريقة المستخدمة في التعليم "سورة وولاع سونو" هو من خلال الطريقة الشفهية. التعليم و القيم التعليمية الواردة في " Serat Wulang Sunu " ذات الصلة إذا استخدمت في التعليم اليوم. " Serat Wulang Sunu " لديه التعاليم والقيم العالمية التي يتم الحفاظ عليها في حياة الإنسان.

Abstract

The problem of bullying that occurs in the world of education requires a solution to overcome this bullying problem. This research aims to analyze the role of lecturers in strengthening the character of integrity as a bullying effort at UIN SUKA Yogyakarta, so that bullying problems that occur among students do not occur again. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, data collection is by direct observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by researchers by reducing data, displaying data and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the role of lecturers at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has its own strategy in strengthening the character of integrity so that it has an impact on commendable morals and ethics. The lecturers' strategies in efforts to create anti-bullying include character education and ethical learning, fostering inclusive communities, empowering students to become positive leaders and using case studies and ethical discussions. This strategy was felt by the students to be quite effective, so that students responded well, because students understood and understood the impact on bullying behavior.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explain the factors of the emergence of “pesantren sains/science pesantren” (Trensains) and their implications for the shift in the orientation of Islamic education in Indonesia. Existing pesantren studies have looked more at practical aspects, such as curriculum development and learning, but not yet at philosophical aspects, which have implications for a shift in the orientation of Islamic education. Design/methods/approach – Data was collected using interviews and documentation. The research, which utilized a phenomenological approach, was conducted at Sragen Muhammadiyah Trensains Senior High School in Central Java and Tebuireng Trensains Senior High School in East Java. The primary respondent was Agus Purwanto, the initiator, founder, and developer of a science boarding school, who had first-hand experience with the events that took place while he was a student at the Pesantren. Findings – The findings of this study suggest that Trensains is a new pesantren genre that was developed as a reaction to the lack of science and technology in the Islamic world due to the heavy jurisprudential emphasis on Islamic education. In the history of the curricula at pesantren, including philosophy as a topic is a novelty. Research implications/limitations – The emergence of Trensains has implications for a shift in the orientation of pesantren in Indonesia from a Sufistic-fiqh orientation to a scientific-philosophical orientation which is marked by the following changes: (1) in the function of transmission and transfer of Islamic knowledge (tafaqquh fī al-dīn) to the study of Islamic sciences general science; (2) from maintaining the Islamic tradition to cultivating the scientific tradition; and (3) from a reproduction of religionists to producers of scientists. However, some drawbacks need to be acknowledged. This study has not discussed Trensains as a whole, and its effectiveness in shaping the character of pesantren is unknown. Therefore, further research is needed to understand the impact and role of Trensains in the development of Islamic education in Indonesia.
