Abstract

Biogas purification is an effort to increase the calorific value of biogas. The CO2 content in biogas causes the calorific value of the biogas to decrease, so it is necessary purification is carried out to reduce CO2 gas levels and to increase gas levels CH4. The research objectives were 1)To determine the effect of refining time on quality biogas, 2)Knowing the effect of gas flow rate on purification on the quality of the biogas produced, and 3) Determine the duration of purification and the best gas flow rate for purification biogas. The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors namely the purification time (15, 20, and 25 minutes) and the gas flow rate (2,4, and 6 L/min) respectively repeated three times, then analyzed the data using the ANOVA test and followed by the DMRT test. The results showed a C/N ratio of 19.46%, the average substrate temperature was 30.23°C, the average pH was 7.3, the total solid was 7.217, and volatile solid of 79.459. ANOVA test results show that there is a significant effect on methane content, while carbon dioxide content has no effect real. The best purification time and biogas flow rate were 25 minutes (178,018.01 ppm) and 6 L/minute (474,744.3 ppm) because it produces the highest methane content, while for the content carbon dioxide at a purification time of 20 minutes (1201.62 ppm) and a gas flow rate of 4 L/minute (52,012.4 ppm) due to produces the lowest levels of carbon dioxide

Abstract

Non-verbal behaviour is a significant aspect of communication. However, despite its importance, teachers are more often inclined to use it in language teaching and learning. It is therefore important to view that to appreciate nonverbal communications values and to integrate it into the context of language teachings are not the same. Efforts should be made from both sides, i.e. those who develop theory, methodology, and materials as well as those who apply these into practice in order to promote the best practice of communicative language learning and teaching. It is expected that the issues raised can soon be addressed so that the teaching and learning of foreign languages in Indonesia can make fruitful progress in the near future.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the need for a system that can record inventory at PT Sumber Rejeki Semarang. PT Sumber Rejeki Taura is engaged in the water pump trade. The inventory management system currently running at PT. Sumber Rejeki Taura is manual management. In carrying out daily activities, PT Sumber Rejeki Taura still uses a manual inventory recording system. When making a report to the management, the inventory report is taken from the ledger, resulting in long recording because it has to work twice to record it in the book and make a report. If at any time the company owner wants to know and see the inventory of goods, it will take a long time because it has to be re-capitulated. Likewise, in searching for data, you have to check the data one by one, this takes time because in any case, recording in the book can cause various obstacles, such as data can be changed, for example, recording the inventory report is changed by someone else who is not responsible without the owner's knowledge so that the data can be known to outside parties, books can be damaged because the paper is often turned over when checking the inventory report, in addition, the inventory of goods that is currently running at PT Sumber Rejeki Taura has not been well designed, so far the inventory of goods at PT Sumber Rejeki Taura is only limited to recording in books and receipts. Seeing these problems, the author provides a proposed solution by designing a web-based inventory information system to help the performance of Toko Besi T employees or also called PT. Sumber Rejeki Taura Semarang in processing and storing data. The author will use Macromedia Dreamweaver and CSS software then supported by PHP and MySQL databases in the XAMPP Control Panel application.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of brainstorming techniques in improving vocabulary use in writing among seventh-grade students at SMPN 26 Pontianak. Utilizing a quantitative preexperimental design, the research involved a sample of 31 students from Class VII C out of a population of 96 students. The study aimed to assess whether brainstorming sessions could enhance students' vocabulary skills in descriptive text writing. A pre-test was administered to evaluate the students' initial vocabulary proficiency, followed by a series of brainstorming sessions, and a post-test was conducted to measure any improvements. The results revealed a significant increase in students' vocabulary scores, with mean scores rising from 33.42 in the pre-test to 54.00 in the post-test. The effect size of 4.29 indicates a strong impact of brainstorming on vocabulary enhancement. These findings suggest that brainstorming is a highly effective pedagogical tool for fostering vocabulary development and improving writing quality. The study recommends the integration of brainstorming techniques into teaching practices and suggests further research into the long-term effects and potential adaptations of this approach in diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

This study investigates how the Academic Presentation Course supports EFL students in developing their speaking skills through both linguistic and non-verbal aspects. Using a narrative inquiry approach with three participants, the research explored their experiences before, during, and after the course. The findings show that students initially struggled with anxiety, fast speech, and reliance on memorized scripts. However, through guided preparation, rehearsal, and feedback, they improved in fluency, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension, while also enhancing eye contact, gesture, and intonation. Ultimately, the course fostered both technical competence and confidence, shaping them into adaptable, audience-oriented communicators.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether the use of digital media in the form of E-stories affects the reading aloud skills of fifth-grade students at Immanuel 2 Elementary School. The research employed a quantitative method using a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. The sample consisted of 35 fifth-grade students. The instruments used in this study was reading aloud test. During the treatment, students participated in two scaffolded E-story sessions involving digital storytelling, guided reading, and group practice using selected sentences containing target keywords. The data analysis revealed a t-value of 28.25 and an effect size of 0.087 for the effectiveness test, indicating a very strong effect. indicating a significant difference between students’ reading performance before and after the treatment. It can be concluded that the use of E-story is effective for students’ reading aloud. Therefore, E-stories can serve as an effective alternative to enhance reading aloud elementary school students.

Abstract

Reading skills were essential for students to understand various types of texts and master vocabulary. However, many students faced difficulties in comprehending English reading texts and showed low motivation for reading. To address this issue, this study aimed to test the effectiveness of the EWA (English with Apps) application as a digital learning medium for improving students' reading skills. The research employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model. The subjects of the study consisted of 35 students from class 10D at SMAN 1 Nanga Mahap. Data were collected through reading skills tests and analyzed using paired t-tests. The results showed that the average pre-test score of participants was 35.14, while the average post-test score increased to 44.86, with a difference of 9.71. Statistical analysis indicated that this difference was statistically significant with a p-value < 0.0001. These findings suggested that the use of the EWA application effectively improved participants' understanding, providing strong evidence of the positive impact of this intervention. The study concluded that a mobile-based EWA application is a promising approach to improving English reading skills in the context of secondary education. However, given the small pretest-posttest results, further research is needed in relation to this study
