Abstract

This study aims to develop an authentic assessment instrument based on students' performance. It can build the science process skill and measure the cognitive aspects of student’s achievement. The procedure of research & development method is adapted from Borg and Gall’s model, consisting collecting information, planning, early product development, preliminary field testing, first product revision, field testing, second product revision, and dissemination. The initial field testing was executed to 15 participants, and the field testing to 31 participants in MAN III Yogyakarta use the One – Shot Case Study model. The results of the study as follows: (1) instruments according to the experts' judgment, physics teachers and peers, in general, was valid, (2) instruments at the preliminary field test and main field test was reliable, and (3) instruments could build skills and measure cognitive achievement’s aspect of the scientific process skills of the senior high-school students for heat and temperature topic.

Abstract

It is not avoidable that today's human life cannotbe separated from the need for electric energy. SriSoewasti Soesanto (1996: 6) states that many studieshave shown the effects of the electromagnetic fieldcaused by electrical equipment on human health in theform of leukemia, brain cancer, and barrenness. Becausethere is such an indication that the radiation ofthe electromagnetic field is dangerous for human health,preventive measures have, therefore, to be taken to reducethe negative effects by avoiding direct contact withthe source of radiation, by providing a protective coverappropriate with the kind of radiation, by putting asfar a distance as possible between the body and thesource of radiation, by shortening the period of workusing the source of radiation, and so on.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan hasil kajian empirik tentang kualitas butir soalpada UAS Mata Pelajaran Fisika di Kabupaten Lombok Timur tahun 2015 dengan menggunakanteori respon butir dan sekaligus untuk mengidentifi kasi ketidakwajaran (inappropriateness) skor testersebut. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriftif kuantitatif, ketidakwajaran skor dideteksi dengankorelasi person biserial (person-fi t statistic) dan indeks kehati-hatian (caution index) dari Sato. Paketprogram yang digunakan untuk melakukan analisis butir adalah Quest, dengan elemen sentral RaschModel (RM). Subjek penelitian adalah 15 sekolah menengah atas sampel dari populasi 137 sekolah diKabupaten Lombok Timur, yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Soal UAS digunakan bersamaoleh 15 sekolah pada tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas butirbaik karena memiliki tingkat kecocokan dengan model Rasch dengan nilai infi t meansquare-nya 0,77-1,30. Caution index dari Sato terdeteksi 3,01 persen sampel mempunyai ketidakwajaran, dan 9,68persen sampel yang diambil mempunyai tingkat ketidakwajaran yang tinggi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1) mendapatkan modul fisika berbasis kerja laboratorium dengan pendekatan science process skills yang layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar fisika, 2) menge-tahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa berupa ketercapaian keterampilan proses sains dan prestasi belajar fisika siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan. Langkah-langkah  pengembangan model 4-D (Four D Models), yaitu: tahap Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate.Instrumen penelitian ini berupa lembar observasi kelas, lembar validasi modul oleh dosen ahli dan guru fisika, lembar penilaian keterampilan proses siswa dan angket respon siswa. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa X5 SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 32 siswa.Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) modul yang dikembangkan dalam kategori baik, (2) ketercapaian keterampilan proses sains siswa “sangat baik” untuk aspek menyusun hipotesis, mengiden-tifikasi variabel, menginterpretasi data ke dalam tabel dan “baik” untuk aspek membuat grafik dan menarik kesimpulan.Hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan gain sebesar 0,70 tergolong kategori tinggi.Kata kunci: pengembangan modul fisika, kerja laboratorium, science process skills

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah berkembangnya life skill mahasiswa, berkembangnya strategi kegiatan belajar mengajar (KBM), serta berkembangnya cara pengorganisasian kelas dengan optimalisasi penggunaan atomic physics equipment sebagai media pembelajaran untuk peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran Fisika Atom. Penelitian ini penelitian tindakan kelas. Instrument penelitian adalah handout, lembar kerja mahasiswa, lembar observasi, performance based evaluation sheet, kuisioner, dan tes. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Fisika FMIPA UNY. Data penelitian berupa tingkatan academic skills, pemahaman konsep Fisika Atom dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan piranti eksperimen. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif untuk menggambarkan proses dan produk pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa optimalisasi penggunaan atomic physics equipment dalam pembelajaran Fisika Atom dapat menumbuhkan academic skills mahasiswa. Peningkatan academic skills mahasiswa dari siklus 1 s/d siklus 3 secara berturut-turut 63,12%, 72,50%, dan 81,88%. Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa dan Performance Based Evaluation mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep Fisika Atom mahasiswa dari siklus 1, 2, dan 3 secara berturut-turut 61,50%, 77,00%, dan 81,50%. Model pembelajaran yang terpadu antara eksperimen, diskusi kelompok, dan handout mampu meningkatkan life skills, keterampilan, dan pemahaman mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Fisika Atom. Peningkatan tingkat keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan piranti laboratorium dari siklus 1 s/d siklus 3 secara berturut-turut adalah 52%, 74%, dan 90%.Kata kunci: optimalisasi, atomic physics equipment, dan life skills

Abstract

This research aims to produce project-based learning materials on temperature and heat, which are suitable for use in improving scientific skills and learning outcomes in cognitive aspects. The research and development method is carried out in seven steps: a preliminary study, planning, product draft development, limited trial, product draft revision, wider trial and initial product revision. Products are rated by seven validators. Limited trials were carried out on eight subjects, and more extensive trials were carried out on 32 subjects at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Yogyakarta III using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of the study have shown that the product development Education Unit Level Curriculum version lesson plans, 2013 Curriculum version lesson plans, Project-Based Student Books and project appraisal sheets) are feasible. This use can improve scientific skills in learning but cannot significantly improve the test subjects' cognitive aspects' learning outcomes. Thus, Project-Based Student Books can be used as a learning medium by the teacher. However, it needs further improvement and research in order to improve scientific skills in learning.

Abstract

Curriculum 2013 requires a paradigm shift in the teachers manage learning, including assessment. Research on the implementation of integrated science instruction assessmentis an attempt to overcome the problems in science learning assessment in Junior High School. Rate the former tend to simply measure cognitive ability, so that teachers rarely pay attention to ratings on science process skills of students and social attitudes. This research aims to; (1) produce integrated science assessment practical instruction through the feasibility test in science learning class (2) to get the measure of science process skills and social attitudes of learners using instruments developed. This research is a development that adapt the model Borg and Gall (1983). Aiken's Formula V is used to analyze the instrument by the validator. This research resulted in: (1) integrated science instruction assessment practical through feasibility testing in the classroom science lessons with the following characteristics: (a) the observation sheet form checklist used by teachers to observe the science process skills of learners is only at the stage of observing, measuring, inferring, classifying, predicting, communicating as well as observing the social attitude on stage mental and neural state, of readiness to respond, organized, through experience, and  exerting a directive  (b) science process skills is not observed from the behavior of learners assessed by working the worksheet (c) the self-assessment of social attitudes among learners friends used only at the stage of evaluate; (2) the instrument has been developed fit for use because it meets the content validity by experts and reliability was good value. (3) Results of measurement using observation sheet science process skills get a very good category and the results of measuring social attitude of learners using observation sheets, self-assessment and peer assessment obtained either category on aspects of mental and neural state, of readiness to respond, organized, through experience, and  exerting a directive .

Abstract

This research aimed at (1) producing Subject Specific Pedagogic (SSP) of integrated science learning with  nationalism values by utilizing Indonesian megabiodiversity which is valid and practical for the students of border areas, (2) obtaining empirical test results on the effectiveness of SSP integrated science learning with  nationalism values by utilizing Indonesian megabiodiversity to improve the quality of students’ learning outcomes and soft security in border area. The SSP was prepared through a research design referring to  "Prototypal Studies" as put forward by Akker (1999) and Plomp (2001). The important thing that needs to be considered in the development research is the quality of the produced learning tools (product). Plomp (2001) has pointed out the product quality criteria, namely: valid (reflects state-of-the-art knowledge and internal consistency), added value, practical, and effective. This research is intended to solve the problems of junior high schools in the region of (1) Atambua, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, and (2) Entikong, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Province. The reserach results showed that SSP science learning integrating Indonesian megabiodiversity utilization with nationalism values was valid, practical and effective to develop concepts understanding and soft security among students in border areas schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kelayakan modul potensi lokal berbasis pendekatan SETS dan meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik dengan menggunakan bahan ajar tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan dengan mengadaptasi model 4D yaitu define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Penelitian dilakukan pada satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen adalah kelas yang menggunakan bahan ajar modul potensi lokal berbasis SETS dalam proses pembelajaran, sedangkan kelas control adalah kelas yang menggunakan bahan ajar umum yang biasa digunakan sekolah. Instrumen penilaian keterampilan proses sains menggunakan soal pretest dan posttest yang diberikan pada peserta didik sebelum dan setelah proses pembelajaran. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal keterampilan proses sains yang diberikan sebelum dan setelah proses pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis untuk memperoleh nilai gain skor. Berdasarkan analisis keterampilan proses sains kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi yaitu sebesar 0,45 sedangkan kelas control sebesar 0,29. Hasil validasi modul potensi lokal berbasis SETS dilakukan oleh dosen ahli yaitu ahli materi dan ahli media. Hasil kelayakan yang diperoleh dari ahli materi dan ahli media mencapai kategori sangat baik. Kesimpulannya modul potensi lokal berbasis pendekatan SETS layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran sains untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sains peserta didik di sekolah. Development of SETS based local potential modules to improve science process skills  AbstractThis study aims to measure the feasibility of local potential modules based on the SETS approach and improve the science process skills of students using these teaching materials. The type of this research is the development by adapting the 4D model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The study was conducted in one experimental class and one control class. The experimental class is a class that uses local potential modules based on SETS in the learning process, while the control class is a class that uses common teaching materials commonly used by schools. The instrument for assessing science process skills uses the pretest and posttest questions given to students before and after the learning process. The instrument used is a matter of science process skills that are given before and after the learning process. The data obtained were analyzed to obtain the gain score. Based on the analysis of science process skills the experimental class is higher at 0.45 while the control class is 0.29. The results of SETS-based local potential module validation were carried out by expert lecturers namely material experts and media experts. The results of the feasibility obtained from material experts and media experts reached a very good category. In conclusion, the local potential module based on the SETS approach is appropriate to be used in the science learning process to improve students' scientific skills in school.

Abstract

  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk:(1) menghasilkan LKPD berbasis Pictorial Riddle untuk meningkatkan berpikir kritis perserta didik SMA dan (2) mengetahui besar peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMA yang menggunakan LKPD berbasis Pictorial Riddle pada sub materi Usaha dan Energi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (RD) dengan model 4-D menurut Thiagarajan yang memiliki 4 tahap yaitu: define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) LKPD berbasis Pictorial Riddle layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan nilai CVI sebesar 0,806667 (sangat baik) dan reliabilitas penilaian hasil LKPD dengan nilai PA sebesar 94% (reliabel). Serta nilai respon peserta didik terhadap LKPD sebesar 4,15 (baik) dan (2) besar peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik ditunjukkan dengan oleh nilai standard gain gsebesar 0,59 (sedang). Kata kunci: LKPD, Pictorial Riddle, kemampuan berpikir kritis, Usaha dan Energi   ABSTRACT This researchis aimed to: (1) produced LKPD based on Pictorial Riddle to increase critical thinking skills for Senior High School students and (2) knew about the increasing of critical thinking ability for students which are using LKPD based on Pictorial Riddle on Work and Energy subject lecture.This research is developing research with 4-D modelreferring Thiagarajan that has 4 phases which is define, design, develop, and disseminate. Results show that (1) LKPD based on Pictorial Riddle has been produced. It has suitable to increasing of critical thinking ability with excellent category with CVI’s score 0,80667 and the percentage of agreement of LKPD was 94% which is reliable, and student response with score 4,51 (good) and (2) the increasing of critical thinking ability was indicated by standard value g which is 0,59 (average). Keywords: LKPD, Pictorial Riddle, critical thinking ability, Work and Energy
