Abstract

This study aims to develop a 3D Scratch-based physics learning media to enhance student learning outcomes in basic gravity concepts. Traditional learning methods often limit student engagement and hinder the development of essential skills. By incorporating interactive simulations and animations, Scratch-based media can provide a more dynamic and engaging learning experience. The 4D development model was employed to design and develop the media, focusing on aspects such as visual clarity, accessibility, and language appropriateness. A panel of experts, comprising a physics education lecturer and three prospective physics teachers, validated the media. The results indicated that the developed media achieved a very high level of feasibility, with an average score exceeding 81%. This research suggests that the integration of Scratch-based learning media can significantly improve student learning outcomes in physics, particularly around basic gravity. The interactive nature of the media, coupled with its inclusion of exercises and discussion questions, fosters active learning and enhances comprehension.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran, (2) peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik, (3) peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik, dan (4) efektivitas penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran model learning cycle 5E terintegrasi STEM berbantuan laboratorium virtual untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan motivasi belajar peserta didik SMA dalam mempelajari materi fisika gelombang cahaya dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Desain penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (RD) dengan model 4D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate). Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Turi. Instrumen penelitian diantaranya: RPP, LKPD, lembar validasi, angket respon, lembar observasi RPP, dan instrumen penilaian. Teknik analisis data percentage of agreement, standar gain, IJA, uji Manova, dan uji effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) telah diperoleh perangkat pembelajaran model learning cycle 5E terintegrasi STEM berbantuan laboratorium virtual yang layak digunakan, (2) peningkatan hasil belajar berdasarkan nilai gain sebesar 0,53 dalam kategori sedang (3) peningkatan motivasi belajar berdasarkan nilai gain sebesar 0,24 dalam kategori rendah, dan (4) efektivitas penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran model learning cycle 5E terintegrasi STEM berbantuan laboratorium virtual ditunjukkan oleh nilai effect size hasil belajar sebesar 0,98 dan motivasi belajar sebesar 0,94 dalam kategori besar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan : (1) Menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik berorientasi Heuristik Vee berbantuan PhET yang layak untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar fisika peserta didik; (2) Mengetahui peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah melalui proses pembelajaran menggunakan strategi belajar Heuristik Vee. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (RD) dengan model 4D. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa LKPD berorientasi heurisik vee berbantuan PhET. Pengumpulan kelayakan dilakukan dengan angket validasi oleh validator ahli dosen Pendidikan Fisika dan validator praktisi guru fisika. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Pakem. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Telah dihasilkan LKPD berorientasi Heuristik Vee berbantuan PhET yang baik dan layak untuk digunakan. (2) LKPD berorientasi Heuristik Vee berbantuan PhET meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan jumlah nilai sumbangan efektif sebesar 80,9% dan sebesar 83,6% terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik yang keduannya termasuk kedalam kategori besar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Menghasilkan e-modul pbl berbantuan PhET yang layak. 2) Mendeskripsikan peningkatan literasi sains aspek context. 3) Mengungkapkan hubungan antara kemampuan awal dan curiosity dengan kemampuan literasi sains aspek context. 4) Mengetahui sumbangan kovariat. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (RD) dengan desain 4D Models yaitu Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SMA yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Purworejo yang memiliki latar belakang akademik baik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) e-modul pbl berbantuan PhET layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan literasi sains aspek context ditinjau dari kemampuan awal dan curiosity peserta didik SMA. 2) terdapat perbedaan signifikan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. 3) kemampuan awal dan curiosity sebagai kovariat berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan literasi sains aspek konteks. 4) kemampuan awal dan rasa keingintahuan berpengaruh simultan 19,8% terhadap literasi sains. Sumbangan efektif kemampuan awal sebesar 14.4% dan rasa keingintahuan 5.4%. Sumbangan relatif kemampuan awal sebesar 72.70% dan rasa keingintahuan sebesar 27.30%.

Abstract

This research developed and validated a Scratch-assisted Jigsaw learning instrument for teaching physics measurement concepts. It also investigated the model's impact on students' creative thinking skills and scientific literacy. A True Experimental Research design with a quantitative approach, using a pre-test post-test control group, was employed. The instrument underwent rigorous validation, including feasibility assessments and field tests. Effect size analysis determined the model’s impact. The developed instruments met eligibility standards and significantly enhanced students' creative thinking and scientific literacy. Hypothesis testing showed a significance value below 0.05. Effect sizes for creative thinking (0.33) and scientific literacy (0.32) were both medium, indicating a noticeable positive impact. The Scratch-assisted Jigsaw model is a reliable and effective approach, offering a valuable and innovative alternative for improving physics education quality by enhancing creative thinking and scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle 5E model assisted by PhET simulations in improving students’ critical thinking skills and science literacy on the topic of sound waves. A quasi-experimental design was used with three classes: an experimental class (Learning Cycle 5E + PhET), control class 1 (Learning Cycle 5E only), and control class 2 (direct instruction). Classes were randomly selected from grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Piyungan. Instruments consisted of a critical thinking essay test and a science literacy multiple-choice test, each covering four indicators and validated using Quest. PhET simulations (“Sound” and “Wave on a String”) were integrated from the exploration to evaluation phases. The Kruskal-Wallis test showed significant differences between groups (p = 0.001). The experimental class achieved the highest posttest scores: 90.68 (SD = ±4.8) in critical thinking and 68.92 (SD = ±6.2) in science literacy. The most significant improvements occurred in evaluating arguments and understanding science concepts. These results suggest that integrating PhET simulations into the Learning Cycle 5E model effectively enhances students’ conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and science literacy. This approach can be recommended as an alternative learning strategy in physics education, particularly for abstract and complex topics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran fisika model Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan Liveworksheet yang layak untuk meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi Suhu dan Kalor; (2) Mengetahui peningkatan minat belajar fisika peserta didik setelah menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran model Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan Liveworksheet; (3) Mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar fisika peserta didik setelah menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran model Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan Liveworksheet; (4) Mengetahui keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran model Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan Liveworksheet dalam meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (RD) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE, yaitu analyze, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Perangkat pembelajaran fisika model Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan Liveworksheet layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI SMA pada materi suhu dan kalor; (2) Terdapat peningkatan minat belajar peserta didik setelah menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran fisika model Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan Liveworksheet; (3) Terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran fisika model Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan Liveworksheet; (4) Perangkat pembelajaran fisika model Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan Liveworksheet efektif untuk meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) peningkatan hasil belajar fisika peserta didik yang diberikan model Team Games Tournament metode Peer Teaching pada materi vektor, 2) peningkatan motivasi belajar fisika peserta didik yang diberikan model Team Games Tournament metode Peer Teaching pada materi vektor, dan 3) keefektifan model Team Games Tournament metode Peer Teaching pada materi vektor. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain quasi-experimental dengan jenis Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan yaitu dengan teknik tes, angket, dan observasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi soal pretest dan posttest, angket, dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik yang diberikan perlakuan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament metode peer teaching, 2) tidak terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar yang bermakna pada peserta didik yang diberikan perlakuan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament metode peer teaching, 3) kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament metode peer teaching memiliki pembelajaran yang paling efektif dilihat dari effect size hasil belajar yang berada pada kategori kuat.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) produce physics learning tools using the think talk write type cooperative learning model which are suitable for use to improve learning outcomes in the cognitive domain and cooperative attitudes of students and (2) determine the effectiveness of learning tools using the think talk write type cooperative learning model in improve cognitive learning outcomes and cooperative attitudes of students. This research is development research (RD) with a 4D model consisting of stages (1) define, (2) design, (3) develop, and (4) disseminate. The products developed are RPPs, LKPD, test question instruments, and cooperative attitude assessment questionnaires. The subjects in this research were students of SMA Negeri 1 Gamping class XI MIPA 1 as the experimental class and XI MIPA 2 as the control class. The results of the research show that: (1) the learning tools developed are suitable for use in physics learning with a very good category, (2) the learning tools developed are effectively used to improve learning outcomes in the cognitive domain of physics and the cooperative attitude of class XI high school students with effect scores. The size of the learning outcomes in the cognitive domain is 2.02, which is included in the very large category, and the effect size value for cooperative attitudes is 0.80, which is included in the medium category.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness and effect size of project-based learning (PjBL) model embedded with entrepreneurship in online physics learning to improve the physics application ability of senior high school students; and to describe students' responses to the entrepreneurship embedded PjBL model. This was a quasi-experimental study. The experimental design used was the clustered pretest-posttest controlled group design, which involved two groups and the sampling was carried out in clusters. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Mlati Yogyakarta on the subject of Elasticity and Hooke's Law. Data collection techniques in this study used tests and questionnaires. Data analysis utilized descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the study showed that the application of the entrepreneurship embedded PjBL model was effective for improving students’ physics application ability in the moderate category. The effect size of the entrepreneurship embedded PjBL model towards the physics application ability was in the moderate category. Finally, the student responses toward the entrepreneurship embedded PjBL model were in the very good category.
