Abstract

Convalescent Plasma Therapy (CPT) is an additional therapy to increase the chances of recovery for patients infected with COVID-19. CPT is carried out by giving blood plasma from COVID-19 survivors to COVID-19 patients. Not all survivors of COVID-19 can become plasma donors. Several criteria must be met. Therefore, selecting and sequencing potential plasma donors can be considered an act of decision-making. This research aims to provide an overview of the application of the SAW-TOPSIS combination and the Borda Count method in selecting and ranking potential plasma donor candidates. The criteria for prospective plasma donors are limited to six aspects, namely age, weight, history of blood transfusion, gender, pregnancy status, history of being infected with COVID-19, and history of previous illnesses. Data was taken from ten COVID-19 survivors to illustrate the application of the three methods. The data is taken from a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. This research was carried out through 3 stages: applying the SAW method, the TOPSIS method, and the Borda Count method. From the calculated results, P06 was the most potential plasma donor candidate, followed by P03, P09, P02, and P04.

Abstract

The selection of an appropriate Quranic Recitation and Writing (BTQ) method has a direct and significant impact on students’ academic progress, as BTQ is a mandatory prerequisite for participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) at UIN Syekh Wasil Kediri. However, the current process for selecting a BTQ method has not been based on a structured and objective approach. Consequently, many students experience difficulties in passing the BTQ examination, which in turn delays their participation in KKN. This quantitative descriptive study aims to analyze the application of the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method in determining the most effective BTQ method for students at UIN Syekh Wasil Kediri. The SAW method was selected for its capability to produce accurate results through a systematic process of evaluating and ranking alternatives. The BTQ method selection process was evaluated based on eight criteria: ease of material delivery by the instructor, structured learning system, availability of supporting textbooks, tajweed instruction, introduction to makharij al-huruf, use of melody in recitation, instructor recruitment mechanism, and grading level advancement system. The SAW calculations were conducted by a decision maker who assigned weights to these criteria. Evaluation data were collected through questionnaires administered to twelve respondents to assess six alternative BTQ methods. Based on the SAW calculation results, the recommended ranking of BTQ methods is as follows: Qira’ati, Ummi, Yanbu’a, Tilawati, Iqra’, and Jami’ati. This research is expected to contribute significantly to the BTQ program at UIN Syekh Wasil Kediri by addressing challenges related to BTQ graduation rates and delays in KKN participation.

Abstract

Selecting the right mathematics learning application is crucial for supporting students' learning processes, but this is often hampered by a wide variety of choices without objective guidance, potentially leading to less effective selections. This descriptive quantitative study describes the implementation of the Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) method to recommend mathematics learning applications that align with student needs. MAUT flexibly and comprehensively considers various weighted criteria, making it effective for decision-making with complex preferences. Eight criteria were used to evaluate ten mathematics learning applications: (1) user review count, (2) storage capacity, (3) rating, (4) user count, (5) application usage cost, (6) answer accuracy, (7) ease of use (UI/UX), and (8) step-by-step solutions. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 20 respondents. The calculation process in the MAUT method was carried out through several stages: determining the relative weights for each criterion, constructing a decision matrix, performing normalization on the decision matrix, and calculating the final utility value for each alternative. Based on the calculation results using the MAUT method, the recommended application order is as follows: Photomath, Question.AI, Cymath, QANDA, Gauthmath, Check Math, Symbolab, Mathos AI, Mathway, and Math Workout. This study is expected to provide a practical contribution by helping students and educational institutions choose the most optimal mathematics learning application, and to serve as a basis for the future development of a more structured recommendation system.

Abstract

The internalization of abstract mathematical concepts often poses a significant challenge for students, even though mathematics is fundamental to numerous disciplines, such as complex decision-making. This study aims to show the critical role of the matrix in the Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) method in determining the location of suitable shelters for victims of natural disasters, especially the eruption of Mount Kelud in the Kediri area. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach to examine the application of the matrix in evaluating various criteria, including the number of public facilities, capacity, availability of bathrooms and ventilation. The study results show that the MAUT method, with the help of a matrix, can provide recommendations for the five most suitable sub-districts as shelter locations. This research is expected to contribute to developing decision support systems for disaster mitigation and improve students' understanding of mathematics applications in real contexts.

Abstract

Abstract

CPM (Critical Path Method) and PERT (Project Evaluation and Review Technique) are methods in mathematics that use network principles to predict the duration of a project's implementation. Through these two methods, critical activities will be determined that can affect the accuracy or delay of the completion of a project. The focus of this study to provide an overview of the implementation of CPM and PERT in an effort to predict the duration and cost of building the Al-Ikhlas Mosque located in West Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan. This research carries the type of descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Interview techniques and document review were carried out to obtain data in the form of types of activities, duration of each activity, development costs, and the human resources involved. The collected data was then analyzed using CPM and PERT. The results showed that the implementation of CPM and PERT can predict the duration of the mosque construction project which is shorter than the initial prediction. The shorter duration of construction has the effect of reducing the cost of building a prayer room, especially the cost for labor.
