Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is surrounded by a ring of volcanoes or commonly known as a ring of fire, the implication is there are many disaster caused by tectonic processes such as collisions between plates, earthquakes, and landslides. Landslides are disaster that often occur in Indonesia, especially the study area in Kebonharjo Village. Disaster events cause damage to both the physical and non-physical environment. The mapping of the area used the Geographic Information System method based on actual data provided by the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Kulon Progo Regency in the form of hamlet areas that are prone to landslides and areas that occur landslide disaster. Other data is data from the Geospatial Information Agency to facilitate direct observation and mapping in the research field. The method used is a survey method with a quantitative and qualitative analysis approach. Qualitative analysis was carried out using the method of analyzing the topography and geomorphology of the research area. Quantitative analysis was carried out based on landforms classified with aspects of slope, rock type, soil type, and rainfall intensity. The results of the analysis of these data will produce a landslide hazard map in the research area as a reference that can be used by the local government to determine appropriate environmental management strategies and policies in Kebonharjo Village.

Abstract

This service activity was carried out in Pungka Village, Unter Iwes District, Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara in June-July 2022. The agricultural sector is the main source of livelihood for residents in Pungka Village, but there are still many residents in Pungka Village who have not applied environmentally friendly agricultural activities, where around 90% of farmers use chemical fertilizers in their agricultural activities, around 85% carry out biomass burning activities left over from the harvest such as straw left over from rice crops and fronds of corn and sugarcane harvest residues, in addition, there are about 90% of farmers who use pesticides with doses that are not in accordance with the procedure for use. So that all of that can lead to an increase in the contribution of greenhouse gas (GHG) effects such as CH4 from paddy fields, CO2 and N2O from biomass fertilization and burning activities. So it can be said that agricultural activities in Pungka Village are still not environmentally friendly, therefore it is necessary to carry out counseling or socialization activities related to how to farm a healthy and environmentally friendly farming system. The purpose of this service activity is to educate farmers in Pungka Village regarding environmentally friendly farming methods by socializing organic farming systems, so that it is expected to ensure the sustainability and sustainability of agriculture and the environment in Pungka Village. So that the agricultural products are expected to be healthy for those who consume and preserve the surrounding environment

Abstract

A Forests have many benefits, is as a provider of environmental services for geotourism. The development of geotourism in forest areas is Pinus Pengger, Bantul Regency. The development of Pinus Pengger geotourism must be evident and directed according to the principle of using sustainable geotourism environmental services. The Research was conducted to determine a sustainable geotourism management strategy beneficial and sustainable. The analysis uses the SWOT method, the data support of surveys, and information from various literature. The results of the research show that Pinus Pengger geotourism has a landscaping potential that supports it to be developed. The Pinus Pengger geotourism development strategy comprehensively prioritizes the preservation of the forest environment and involves the community. Sustainable geotourism development can ensure the sustainability of forests and still benefit the community.

Abstract

Water is one of basic needs of living things on earth. River water utilization in Wijirejo Village, Bantul District is used to rice field irrigation and also as a recipient of liquid waste from batik home industry. River water pollution is indicated by colors and odors which is contained in Bedog River that damage geophysical- chemical and socio-economic environment. This study aims to discover river water and under ground water characteristic, spread of waste, under ground water and river water vulnerability with water pollution management as a control. Research data collection using observation and mapping method. Sample quality under ground water and river water using purposive sampling method. Water quality data using laboratory test and quantitive analysis with pollution index. Determination of under ground water pollution vulnerability level using method PCSM (Point Count System Model). Liquid waste of batik home industry which affects river water quality is indicated by Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) that exceed standard quality those decreasing water quality status before the waste outlet with good condition and at waste outlet is lightly polluted

Abstract

Kelapa sawit merupakan sumber daya alam di sektor perkebunan yang bentuk kanopi hampir seragam, dimana semakin dewasa, tutupan kanopi kelapa sawit akan semakin rapat dan mempengaruhi langsung terhadap karakteristik fisika lingkungan (iklim mikro) disekitarnya. Pendugaan fluks bahang terasa pada pertanaman kelapa sawit penting dilakukan untuk menduga kontribusi kelapa sawit dalam meredam atau melepas panas ke lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode aerodinamik dan penman-monteith. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa bahwa nilai penerimaan radiasi global, suhu udara, dan kecepatan angin maksimum di kedua perkebunan terjadi pada siang hari , sedangkan nilai maksimum kelembaban relatif pada kedua wilayah terjadi pada pagi hari untuk nilai penerimaan radiasi global dan suhu udara pada lingkungan pertanaman kelapa sawit muda (umur 2 tahun) lebih tinggi darpada umur dewasa ( umur 12 tahun), sedangkan untuk nilai kecepatan angin dan kelembaban relatif terjadi sebaliknya, puncak fluks bahang terasa terjadi pada siang hari pada kedua umur tanaman kelapa sawit. Fluks bahang terasa pada pertanaman kelapa sawit muda (umur 2 tahun) lebih tinggi dibandingkan umur dewasa (umur 12 tahun), dengan nilai rata-rata pada masing-masing pertanaman sebesar 20.02 W/m² dan 9.16 W/m².

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara dengan kategori rawan bencana alam. Berdasarkan aspek geografis yaitu dinamika struktur geologi yang menyebabkan kelerengan yang beragam sehingga menyebabkan keterjadian bencana. Berdasarkan aspek klimatologis yaitu curah hujan dengan intensitas yang tinggi terjadi pada periode bulan November-April. Berdasarkan aspek demografis yaitu ulah manusia yang melakukan penumpukan sampah di setiap tempat yang merupakan jalur air mengalir dari hulu ke hilir. Kecamatan Brang Rea merupakan salah satu wilayah di Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat yang kerap terjadi bencana banjir karena wilayah tersebut merupakan daerah tangkapan air hujan (water catchment area) dan juga dilintasi oleh wilayah Daerah Aliran Sungai Brang Rea. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memetakan wilayah yang memiliki kerawanan banjir sedang sampai tinggi untuk mengetahui wilayah rawan bencana banjir. Pengumpulan dan analisis data dilakukan melalui observasi wilayah menggunakan interpretasi data citra dan peta dasar maupun tematik sehingga dapat dilakukan analisis tumpangtindih (overlay) untuk mengetahui wilayah kerawanan bencana banjir. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan bahwa kerawanan bencana banjir pada Kecamatan Brang Rea termasuk dalam kategori sedang sampai berat.

Abstract

Sumbawa Island is a tourist destination because it offers still well-preserved natural beauty. Semongkat geotourism is one of the tour sites visited by many local or foreign tourists located in the north of Batulanteh District, Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province (Coordinate Latitude -8.574251° SL, Longitude 117.313315° EL), including a hilly area with an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, densely-forested, and well-preserved maintained area. The area is an ecosystem rich in flora and fauna, including the bondol eagle and the koakiau bird which are endangered and protected by law. The problem is that lots of landslides still occur on the access to the area, posing thus risks to passengers and motorists. The data collection method used is to mapping landslide-prone areas with controlling and driving aspects, then make a landslide-prone map to show which areas are categorized as landslide-prone areas. It is important, therefore, to map landslide-prone areas so that mitigation measures can be implemented to ensure a safer life for local people and tourists, a better environment and ecosystem as well as a safer, and also increased geotourism in Semongkat.

Abstract

One of the main challenges in mining activities is environmental issues, especially the risk of damage to natural resources. In general, mining activities aim to maximize the utilization of mining resources that exist on the earth. PT Bumi Suksesindo (PT BSI), as the first national private company in Java Island engaged in high sulfidation epithermal gold mining, strives to implement good environmental management and monitoring practices in every stage of its mining activities, from exploration to production, by applicable regulations. This study aims to review the water quality at PT Bumi Suksesindo, Banyuwangi, East Java. It is found that PT Bumi Suksesindo carries out water quality monitoring consistently and refers to the regulation, namely the Regional Regulation of East Java Province Number 2 of 2008 concerning Water Quality Management and Water Pollution Control in East Java Province.

Abstract

Langam Village in Sumbawa Regency has been designated as a pilot project for community-based waste management to address the challenges of ineffective waste management practices. This study aims to analyze the generation, composition, and current waste management practices in the village. A survey approach and quantitative analysis were employed to estimate the average daily waste generation, amounting to 2 tons per day. Organic waste dominated the composition, with food waste accounting for 33% and garden waste for 31%. Most households (76%) disposed of waste improperly due to limited facilities and a lack of awareness regarding environmentally friendly waste treatment. Further analysis highlights the urgent need for more efficient waste management through the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) approach. Establishing 3R-based Waste Management Facilities (3R WMF) in each hamlet is recommended as a sustainable solution tailored to the geographic and social characteristics of Langam Village. The implementation of community-based waste management will not only reduce waste destined for the landfill but also raise public awareness and contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly sustainable cities and communities

Abstract

Aktivitas pertambangan memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap lingkungan, khususnya pada degradasi lahan dan ekosistem lokal. Reklamasi lahan pascatambang menjadi langkah penting untuk memulihkan kembali fungsi ekologis dan sosial lahan yang terganggu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi praktik reklamasi yang dilakukan oleh PT Bumi Suksesindo (PT BSI) dalam kegiatan pertambangan emas. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis dokumen internal perusahaan dan observasi tidak langsung terhadap pelaksanaan teknis reklamasi di lapangan. Kegiatan reklamasi yang dikaji meliputi penataan lahan, pengelolaan top soil, pengendalian erosi dan sedimentasi, serta revegetasi. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa seluruh tahapan telah dilaksanakan sesuai regulasi seperti PP No. 78 Tahun 2010 dan Permen ESDM No. 07 Tahun 2014. PT BSI juga menerapkan prinsip best practice dalam kegiatan reklamasi, termasuk penggunaan bibit hasil pembibitan sendiri dan metode pengendalian erosi yang tepat. Evaluasi ini menunjukkan bahwa praktik reklamasi PT BSI berpotensi menjadi model rujukan bagi perusahaan tambang lainnya dalam upaya pengelolaan lingkungan yang berkelanjutan.
