Abstract

This study aims to find out how people perceive the use of social media applications in adolescents in Pasar Ujung Batu Village, Sosa District, Padang Lawas Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the various perceptions of parents of teenagers in Pasar Ujung Batu Village range from positive, negative and neutral. There are positive and negative impacts on adolescent users of social media, while the positive impacts obtained by adolescents using social media are: strengthening friendships, increasing friends, being easy to get along with, increasing knowledge, a place for discussion, a place to pour out one's heart, a place for storing personal data. While the negative impacts on young social media users are: Imitation behavior, offense, reduced relationship with the surrounding environment, lack of attention to family, forgetting time, and reduced study time. Teenagers of Pasar Ujung Batu Village, Sosa District, Padang Lawas Regency use social media not only to seek entertainment by watching videos and chats that are presented there, but also to act as content creators. However, there are impacts that many parents complain about, such as their children tend to often make dance content that is considered bad and even neglect what is required of them.

Abstract

Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Kemudian, metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatitf. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk kesenjangan sosial yang terlihat pada film Parasite adalah bentuk kesenjangan sosial berdasarkan vertikal-topik keseharian hidup antara si kaya dan si miskin yang meliputi tingkat pendidikan, pendapatan hidup, lingkungan tempat tinggal dan bantuan Pemerintah yang menyebabkan salah satu keluarga yang hidup dalam kemiskinan berusaha sekeras mungkin untuk meningkatkan taraf hidupnya dan melakukan berbagai macam cara, sampai melegalkan ijazah pendidikan, melakukan penipuan dan berakhir pada pembunuhan. Nilai sosial yang dapat diambil penonton ketika menonton film Parasite berdasarkan kesenjangan sosial yang terlihat adalah menerapkan pola dan gaya hidup yang sesuai dan tidak berlebihan agar tidak timbul perbedaan antara kaya dan miskin. Kemudian bentuk sikap dan perilaku yang tidak membedakan antara kaya dan miskin serta lebih mampu menerima keadaan seseorang individu tanpa membedakan keadaan ekonomi seseorang tanpa membadingkan level, kasta dan keadaan namun lebih kepada keahlian atau kemampuan yang mereka miliki.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi promosi Geosite Sipinsur yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu penelitian yang diarahkan untuk mendeskripsikan kejadian-kejadian, gejala-gejala dan fakta-fakta secara akurat dan sistematis mengenai aspek-aspek penelitian serta menganalisis dan menyimpulkan kebenarannya berdasarkan fakta-fakta. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi secara mendalam. Pembahasan dalam penelitian ini dianalisis melalui hasil wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah empat orang, dimana empat orang tersebut masing-masing merupakan pegawai Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan. Dari hasil penelitian dilapangan, peneliti menggunakan strategi komunikasi promosi Geosite Sipinsur berbasis Goal Plan Action (GPA) dan menemukan bahwa strategi komunikasi promosi yang telah digunakan oleh Dinas Pariwisata yaitu dengan mengenal khalayak, membuat pesan, menetapkan metode serta menentukan pilihan dan penggunaan media. Selain itu, upaya yang dilakukan Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan dalam mempromosikan Geosite Sipinsur yang paling efektif yaitu melalui media sosial.

Abstract

The title of this research is "Interpersonal Communication of Parents and Children in Overcoming Early Marriage in Nagori Lingga, Simalungun Regency". This study aims to determine the causes of early marriage in Nagori Lingga and to find out how Interpersonal Communication between parents and children in overcoming early marriage. The theory used in this research is the Accommodation theory. This research was conducted using Descriptive Qualitative methods. By obtaining the results of the study, namely, that the cause of early marriage in Nagori Lingga, Simalungun Regency, is because one of the factors is that most of them are already pregnant first, besides that there are also the wishes of their children because they are no longer in school, promiscuity, education that is still very low to continue higher schooling and inadequate economic factors. Parents take it for granted when their children choose to marry at an early age, some feel sad and moved because they are still young to be married and make a disgrace in the family, namely pregnant first (pregnant outside of marriage). In early marriage, it is the parents who must be the mediator in their children's households, because we know what children who marry at a young age are like, if in terms of their emotions cannot be controlled, and their thinking is still very unstable, they are more prone to quarreling, and misunderstanding, therefore their job as parents is to advise their children, give understanding, always give direction to their children.

Abstract

The research entitled Contestastion of the News Content of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) The Covid 19 Period at Waspada.co.id and Medanbisnisdaily.com Period March 3 - June 4, 2020. This study aims to find various content from the messages quoted in Waspada Media. co.id and Medanbisnisdaily.com which published the news of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) to find out the direction of the news. A total of 12 news for the sample, and using descriptive analysis method with content analysis. This study found illustrations of messages in a systematic and quantitative manner. As a parameter, the category construction is used as the News Direction. The News Direction category consists of Favorable (+), Disliked (-), and Neutral (0). All categories correspond to the Harold Laswell category (Flourney, 1989: 128). Each unit of analysis is based on the frequency and character of News Content, according to predefined categories. Based on the content analysis carried out, it presents a news report about PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) published on Waspada.co.id and Medanbisnisdaily.com for the period March 3 - June 4 2020 written in a very profitable news direction with a contribution of 84%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the use of social media and to determine how much influence occurs between the use of social media. social media and to find out how much influence occurs between the use of social media on student communication behavior patterns at ArRahman Medan High School. This research uses quantitative research which aims to determine the effect of Social Media Use on Student Communication Behavior Communication Behavior of Students at Ar-Rahman High School Medan. This research will involve 2 (two) variables, namely variable Y: communication behavior and variable X: social media. social media. From the results of the research, the researcher can conclude two things, namely the variable the use of social media has a significant effect on Communication behavior of Ar-Rahman Medan Private High School students and the amount of influence given by the use of social media is 51.5 percent. Given by the use of social media is 51.2% on Communication Behavior, which means there is still 48.2%. Communication Behavior, which means that there are still 48.2% other factors that can influence the Communication Behavior of students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of Instagram social media on adolescent religious behavior in terms of morals and religious behavior based on Islamic teachings. This research is a quantitative study using observation data collection methods and questionnaire distribution through google form. The data analysis method used in this research is the data validity and reliability test. Then processing the data using the SPSS application. The population in this study was 412 teenagers in Neighborhood IX Tapian Dolok District, Simalungun Regency. With the conditions that researchers must require as respondents in this study. Respondents in this study must be teenagers who follow Hanan Attaki's Instagram account so that a sample of 80 respondents can be determined in this study. Through the Uses and Effect theory that researchers do that there is an influence of Instagram social media on the influence of Instagram social media on an average percentage of 45.0% and most experience changes in religious behavior after seeing Hanan Attaki's content. So, it can be concluded that Instagram social media can change the religious behavior of adolescents.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang proses komunikasi interpersonal dalam pembentukan Self-Love pada penggemar BTS (ARMY) yang tergabung dalam grup ApobangpOt7.mdn. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dimana data dideskripsikan menggunakan rangkaian kalimat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara pada penggemar BTS (ARMY) yang tergabung dalam grup apobanpOt7.mdn berdasarkan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini  adalah proses komunikasi interpersonal ARMY dan personel BTS berlangsung melalui aplikasi Weverse dan konsumsi karya dari BTS yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan Self-love pada ARMY. ARMY mengaku pengembangan self-love dirasakan cukup baik lewat Weverse dan karya-karya BTS. Melalui Weverse, personel BTS seringkali memberi motivasi, saling bertukar pesan lucu, memberi atau menanyakan kabar, dan mengingatkan ARMY untuk selalu bahagia dan menjaga kesehatan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan melalui aplikasi Weverse, BTS bisa berkomunikasi langsung dengan ARMY tentang pentingnya mencintai diri sendiri, saling memberi motivasi dan semangat, bertukar cerita, hingga saling melemparkan pesan yang lucu Pada akhirnya, melalui Weverse, konten dan lagu-lagu karya BTS menjadi jembatan antara BTS dan ARMY untuk bisa saling berkomunikasi dan menjalin kedekatan. Dengan adanya aplikasi Weverse sebagai media komunikasi untuk lebih bisa menghargai diri sendiri dan menanamkan self-love di dalam diri penggemar BTS

Abstract

This study analyzes the da'wah messages in the film Hati Suhita using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach to explore the meanings of denotation, connotation, and myth in five key scenes. This research employs a qualitative method with a semiotic analysis technique that focuses on visual signs, dialogues, and symbols in the film to interpret the conveyed da'wah messages. Data were collected through film observation and documentation of scenes containing da'wah elements. The film portrays the struggles of a young woman named Suhita in facing the challenges of an arranged marriage, emotional turmoil, and the search for true love within the bonds of marriage. The findings indicate that the film effectively conveys da'wah messages about sacrifice, patience, sincerity, and the importance of communication in family life. Additionally, the film emphasizes the role of women in maintaining self-respect and marital happiness within an Islamic context. The novelty of this research lies in the application of semiotic analysis to understand da'wah messages in film as a medium for conveying Islamic values relevant to contemporary issues. This study provides a significant contribution to da'wah studies through film media, which serves as a bridge between Islamic values and the challenges of modern life.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Prilly Latuconsina's Shopee PayLater advertising representation on people's consumer behavior, especially in Medan City in 2024. The method used is qualitative research with Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis approach, which focuses on identifying signs in advertisements and audience interpretation of the messages conveyed. The results of the study show that the Shopee PayLater advertisement featuring Prilly Latuconsina as a brand ambassador has succeeded in attracting the attention of young audiences by conveying messages about the convenience, benefits, and attractive incentives of the service. The discussion shows that well-known public figures are effective in increasing public interest in digital services and influencing consumer behavior. In conclusion, the advertisement has succeeded in strengthening the adoption of Shopee PayLater services and encouraging increased consumption among the community, especially those who are young and open to technological innovation.
