Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mengenalkan digital marketing kepada siswa dan siswi sekaligus meningkatkan kompetensi mereka di bidang berwirausaha. Kegiatan ini mengasilkan empat kompetensi yaitu keterampilan berpikir kritis, keterampilan kreativitas, keterampilan berkomunikasi, serta keterampilan berkolaborasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMU Negeri 14 Medan dengan sasaran siswa dan siswi kelas XII berjalan dengan lancar, bahkan siswa dan siswi sangat antusias mengikutinya dan berlomba lomba mendesain promosi produk melalui platform canva. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dengan metode ceramah yang memberikan penjelasan mengenai teori dan pengalaman di bidang digital marketing, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan langsung membuat bentuk promosi, harga dan tampilan produk. Pada sesi terakhir siswa diharuskan menjelaskan hasil dari tampilan digital marketing mereka secara berkelompok Kegiatan yang menghabiskan waktu kurang lebih 4 jam ini menghasilkan pemahaman kepada siswa dibidang digital marketing dengan harapan kelak akan menjadi ilmu mereka jika ingin berwirausaha nantinya.

Abstract

Operations Research is one way of taking decisions in companies by formulating problems of daily life with mathematical models with the aim of getting optimal goals. Transportation problems are one of the problems in solving operational research problems with the aim of optimizing distribution costs of shipping goods from the first warehouse to the destination warehouse. Like the problem that is in cv. Express nias where the cost of shipping goods does not calculate the optimal cost sometimes losses and profits are not optimal. The method used in solving this problem is the method of Vernel's approximation method, this method is included with the method of transportation. The results obtained in this study are that all shipping costs for cv.express nias are optimal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Pancasila Education on the awareness and understanding of Universitas Budi Darma students regarding LGBT issues. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach and data collection through in-depth interviews with several students from various study programs. The findings indicate that Pancasila Education plays a significant role in shaping tolerant attitudes, critical thinking, and a values-based perspective grounded in Pancasila when interpreting the LGBT social phenomenon. Although there are differing viewpoints among students, the majority of respondents recognize the importance of respecting human rights without neglecting cultural and religious values. These findings contribute to the development of a more responsive Pancasila Education curriculum that addresses contemporary social issues among the younger generation.

Abstract

Handwriting is a product of an individual's writing activity. The unique characteristics of handwriting vary from person to person, reflecting their individual traits. However, handwriting is often misused by irresponsible parties. Currently, there is a lack of tools to facilitate the recognition or verification of handwriting. Generally, handwriting recognition can be addressed using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). ANNs are artificial representations of the human brain that attempt to simulate the brain's learning processes. In this study, the Perceptron algorithm, a supervised learning method within neural networks, is employed. The research uses 5x5 pixel images of handwriting samples, with the Perceptron algorithm functioning based on the weight values obtained. Testing with the Perceptron algorithm showed that it can recognize three different handwriting samples. The testing concluded at Epoch 3, where the value of Y_in = 39 exceeded the threshold value of 30.

Abstract

File document compression is a crucial technique for data transmission to reduce file size without losing relevant information. Large file sizes require substantial storage space. Document files are generally larger compared to other text file formats. Due to the large size of docx files, data transmission can be time-consuming. Compression is a technique used to address this issue by reducing the size of data. This study utilizes the Punctured Elias Code and Taboo Code algorithms, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. After compressing with both algorithms, a comparison was performed. The final results indicate that the Taboo Code algorithm is the fastest and most effective for compressing document files, as a smaller total value indicates less effort required by the algorithm in the compression process.

Abstract

With the rapid advancement of scientific knowledge, the way people access information has also changed significantly. The need for information is now met not only through print media but also through electronic media such as e-books. To address issues related to the large size of digital files, such as PDFs, data compression techniques become crucial. Compression is the process of reducing the size of data to be smaller than its original size, making large files with many repeated characters more efficient for storage. This research aims to evaluate the performance of various compression algorithms by measuring the results of compressing PDF files according to specific parameters. The study shows that the Levenstein algorithm generally performs better in producing smaller file sizes compared to the Taboo Codes algorithm.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between students’ understanding of the values taught in the Pancasila Education course and their attitudes toward rejecting online gambling practices. The increasing access to digital technology has encouraged various forms of misuse, including online gambling, which has the potential to damage students’ academic, economic, and moral aspects. Pancasila Education is viewed as a strategic instrument in shaping students’ character, integrity, and legal awareness. This study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The sample consists of 24 students who have completed the Pancasila Education course. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire with 20 statement items. The validity test results indicate that all items meet the validity criteria, while the reliability test yields a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.916, indicating a very high level of consistency. Simple regression analysis shows a significant relationship between students’ understanding of Pancasila values and their anti–online gambling attitudes (t = 5.28; p < 0.05), with a coefficient of determination of 0.568. These findings indicate that the higher students’ understanding of Pancasila values, the stronger their tendency to reject online gambling practices. The results provide important implications for strengthening character education in higher education in response to the challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

Hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam merancang database pemahaman terhadap kebutuhan dan pengguna paham terhadap penggunaan tools yang ada. Dalam hal ini Tim pengabdian memberikan pelatihan pembuatan database simpan pinjam pensiunan Kokarlin PLN Sumut menggunakan microsoft access guna menjawab permasalahan yang dihadapi selama ini. Bentuk kegiatan bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman penggunaan database menggunakan Microsoft Office Access, memberikan Pelatihan dalam pembuataan database koperasi simpan pinjam kepada staf Kokarlin PT. PLN Sumut, pengolahan data karyawan, keuangan hingga pelaporan menggunakan media online dan offline yang mana data dapat dilihat beberapa staff dan pimpinan untuk dilakukan pengecekan awal untuk kearsipan data dan agar tidak adanya kesalahan yang fatal. Antusias peserta dalam mengikuti kegiatan 90% dengan kemengertian melakukan variasi penginputan dan penambahan fitur disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pada perusahaan dan kegiatan dengan post test dan pree test untuk keberhasilan pengabdian kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

Tahap pelaksanaan dimulai dengan absensi peserta untuk memastikan kehadiran, diikuti oleh penyampaian materi oleh narasumber yang disertai dengan dukungan visual berupa presentasi PowerPoint. Indonesia adalah negara hukum, segala perilaku pengemudi diatur oleh aturan hukum yaitu kewajiban menaati Undang-Undang Nomor 22 Tahun 2009 tentang Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan yang bertujuan untuk mewujudkan keamanan, keselamatan, ketertiban dan kelancaran lalu lintas (KAMSELTIBCAR LANTAS), terwujudnya pendidikan karakter berlalu lintas. Lalu lintas merupakan gambaran budaya bangsa, wujud penegakan hukum dan kepastian bagi masyarakat. Kecelakaan lalu lintas menduduki peringkat pertama penyebab kematian di Indonesia. Penyebab terjadinya kecelakaan adalah permasalahan ketidakdisiplin- an pengemudi dalam berkendara yang diawali dengan pelanggaran peraturan lalu lintas dan sebagian besar korbannya adalah mereka yang masih dalam usia kerja atau pelajar.  Jadi pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendidikan karakter berlalu lintas dalam kesadaran hukum pada SMA Yapim Medan yang 80% diantaranya mengendarai kendaraan bermotor sendiri. Dengan menggunakan metode ceramah, diberikan tanya jawab, demonstrasi dan praktek dalam penyampaian materi. Hasil dari sosialisasi disiplin lalu lintas ini memperoleh skor kepuasan sebesar 85% dengan skala penilaian baik untuk fasilitator, 65% untuk fasilitas, 70% untuk pemateri dan 70% untuk materi yang diberikan. Saran untuk sosialisasi kedepannya dapat diadakan dengan durasi yang lebih lama, alat peraga tambahan dan peserta mendapatkan buku panduan.
