Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui:1) tingkat kemampuan renang gaya bebas siswa SMP IT BBS. 2) apakah metode part and whole berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap hasil latihan renang gaya bebas siswa SMP IT BBS. 3) seberapa besar sumbangan efektif metode part and whole terhadap hasil latihan renang gaya bebas siswa SMP IT BBS. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP IT BBS sebanyak 231 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampling menggunakan teknik purposive yaitu dengan kriteria tertentu sehingga jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 32 siswa SMP IT BBS. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu dengan pretest dan posttest. Pengambilan data yang dilakukan mengunakan instrument tes renang gaya bebas 25 meter dengan item-item tes yang ditentukan serta menggunakan bantuan dua expert judgment. Metode PnW efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar renang gaya bebas dengan membagi keterampilan kompleks menjadi bagian-bagian yang lebih mudah dipelajari. Dari perspektif kognitif, metode ini mengurangi beban kognitif dan memfasilitasi pembelajaran bertahap. Dari perspektif motorik, metode ini memperkuat keterampilan dasar sebelum digabungkan. Diketahui bahwa mean pretest mendapat nilai 11,5938, mean postest dengan nilai 25,9375, nilai minimum pretest 06,00 dan nilai minimum posttest 20,00, berdasarkan dari hasil analisis terdapat signifikansi 0,000, yang artinya terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan antara pretest dan posttest, data dinyatakan signifikan bila hasil lebih kecil dari 0,05. Pada hasil latihan renang gaya bebas peningkatan dibuktikan dengan perhitungan persentase 76%. Secara keseluruhan, PnW memberikan peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan renang siswa SMP dibandingkan siswa SD.

Abstract

The goal of this community service program (PkM) at SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda is to increase students' enthusiasm for reading by providing them with e-books that are based on QR codes. Students' lack of enthusiasm for reading and resources for reading led to the program's inception. E-books with QR codes embedded were presented as a workable approach to digital literacy that caters to the needs of students who were born into the digital age. Several steps were involved in the process, such as determining requirements, creating an e-book, creating QR codes, installing them at key school locations, and finally, monitoring and evaluating the results. Observations and questionnaires were given to 200 students as part of the assessment. Students' interest in and ability to access literature were both enhanced by the usage of QR Codes, according to the findings. In a survey, 82% of people said QR Codes were simple to use, and 85% said they were more motivated to read after using them. In terms of reading frequency, 76% of students saw an improvement, and 72% said they could understand what they read better.With an overall mean score of 4.35 (categorized as excellent), the digital literacy program proved to be effective and positively received. Overall, the implementation of QR Code–based e-books successfully strengthened digital literacy practices and created a more engaging, flexible, and sustainable reading experience, offering a model for digital literacy initiatives in other schools.

Abstract

The use of gamification in Physical Education learning is an innovative strategy that has the potential to improve the quality of students' learning experiences. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the use of gamification elements in Physical Education learning and student learning satisfaction and engagement at Madina Integrated Vocational High School. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational survey method. The sample consisted of 36 students selected through stratified sampling. The research instrument was a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation tests, and simple linear regression using SPSS software. The results showed that gamification elements had a positive and significant relationship with learning satisfaction (r = 0.640; p < 0.05) and student engagement (r = 0.698; p < 0.05). Furthermore, the regression results indicated that gamification had a positive effect on both variables. The conclusion of this study confirms that the implementation of gamification elements can increase student learning satisfaction and engagement in Physical Education learning. Therefore, gamification is recommended for planned implementation to improve the quality of learning. Keywords: gamification, learning satisfaction, student engagement, physical education

Abstract

Kinesio taping merupakan metode yang biasa digunakan dalam upaya pemulihan dari cedera olahraga dan kondisi lainnya. Olahraga merupakan bentuk kegiatan yang memiliki risiko tinggi terjadinya cedera, upaya pencegahan dan perawatan fisik dan cedera bisa dilakukan menggunakan beberapa metode, kinesio tape adalah alternatif yang tepat untuk memberikan manfaat dan kontribusi terhadap pemulihan kondisi cedera dan sebagai antisipasi terhadap terjadinya cedera. Pelatihan penggunaan kinesio tape dilakukan di Sekolah Khusus Olahragawan Internasional (SKOI), Samarinda Kalimantan Timur. Peserta yang ditunjuk yaitu atlet dari berbagai cabang olahraga yang berjumlah 60 orang yang berada di SKOI Samarinda Kalimantan Timur. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan diawali pemaparan materi secara teori untuk memberikan pemahaman awal dan memberikan informasi untuk atlet. selanjutnya pada sesi berikutnya diberikan materi terkait pengenalan perlengkapan taping dan dilanjutkan dengan praktik Bersama secara berpasangan dan didalam bimbingan narasumber secara langsung. Setelah dilakukan kegiatan atlet menunjukan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan pemasangan kinesio tape secara dasar dan dalam hal ini memberikan kontribusi yang positif terhadap upaya pengembangan olahraga di Kalimantan Timur. Sehingga upaya yang dilakukan mampu memberikan kontribusi dan rekomendasi yang positif sehingga bisa diharapkan untuk menjadi perhatian bahwa kinesio tape adalah metode yang tidak bisa dikesampingkan.

Abstract

Declining physical fitness among elementary school children has become a global concern, particularly in Southeast Asia, driven by sedentary lifestyles, urbanization, and low engagement in conventional physical education. This quasi-experimental study aimed to investigate the potential effects of an 8-week personal challenge-based gamification intervention on physical fitness and intrinsic motivation among elementary students. Thirty students (16 boys, 14 girls; mean age 10.3 ± 0.8 years) from SD Negeri 016 Sungai Kunjang participated in a one-group pretest-posttest design. The intervention was integrated into regular physical education classes (two 45-minute sessions per week). Physical fitness was measured using the FITNESSGRAM battery, while intrinsic motivation was assessed with the Indonesian-adapted Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI). Gamification engagement was monitored via structured observation. Significant improvements were observed in all fitness components: cardiovascular endurance (29.5%, d = 1.18), muscular strength (34.8%, d = 1.24), muscular endurance (30.3%, d = 1.06), and flexibility (21.3%, d = 0.88). Overall intrinsic motivation increased by 35.0% (d = 1.91), with high engagement rates (94.2% participation). This study provides preliminary evidence that personal challenge-based gamification may be associated with improved physical fitness and intrinsic motivation. The low-cost approach shows potential for enhancing student engagement in physical education, although the lack of a control group requires cautious interpretation and further rigorous research.

Abstract

Background: Learning motivation in early childhood swimming is crucial for success in aquatic education. Parental social support and appropriate teaching methods are hypothesized to significantly enhance learning motivation. Objective: This study examines the influence of parental social support and teaching methods on swimming learning motivation in early childhood students. Methods: A quantitative correlational design was employed. The sample comprised 25 children aged 4–6 years from Gemilang Swimming Club, Samarinda, selected through total sampling. Instruments included Likert-scale questionnaires for parental social support (14 items), teaching methods (21 items), and swimming learning motivation (15 items, administered via child-friendly interviews). Data were analyzed using multiple regression with SPSS 26.0. Results: Parental social support significantly influenced learning motivation (β = 0.212, t = 2.629, p = 0.015). Teaching methods significantly influenced learning motivation (β = 0.783, t = 9.714, p < 0.001). Together, both variables significantly predicted learning motivation (F = 37.682, p < 0.001), explaining 77.4% of the variance (R² = 0.774). Conclusion: Both parental social support and teaching methods significantly enhance swimming learning motivation in early childhood, with teaching methods having a stronger effect.

Abstract

The swimming extracurricular program in Samarinda faces challenges in achieving meaningful skill improvement due to infrequent practice sessions (only once a week) and suboptimal traditional teaching methods. This study aims to test the effectiveness of integrating kickboard exercises with the part-and-whole method on improving freestyle swimming performance among elementary school students. The research method employed a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The participants consisted of 20 students aged 10–12 years from SD Terpadu Muhammadiyah 4 Samarinda. The intervention was conducted over 12 weeks (April-June 2025) with a frequency of one 90-minute session per week. The instruments used were a 20-meter freestyle swimming test and a technical skills checklist. Data analysis utilized a paired-sample t-test and effect size calculations with SPSS version 26. Results There was a significant improvement in swimming time (pretest: 24.85 ± 5.73 seconds; posttest: 15.42 ± 2.36 seconds; p < 0.001) and technical skill scores (pretest: 11.25 ± 2.48; posttest: 19.35 ± 2.21; p < 0.001). Cohen’s d effect size of 2.16 indicates a large practical significance. Conclusion Integrating the kickboard with the part-and-whole method effectively improves freestyle swimming performance in elementary school students with a weekly training frequency. Further research is recommended using a randomized controlled trial with a control group and measuring long-term skill retention.
