Abstract

Srimulat is one artist that is very popular comedy group from Surabaya and people enjoy doing in the 1980s. Wax sculpture is a sculpture made of wax in the melt up to 74 degrees Celsius and a means of supporting the display. For it is necessary to have a tool that can provide a facility to introduce Srimulat with a wax sculpture gallery. In this thesis, the author discusses about the design of a wax sculpture gallery that presents an atmosphere Srimulat periodically and information - information about Srimulat. Taking the concept of "Journey As A Comedian Friend" which is a concept Srimulat journey from the beginning, and to the glorious era terakhinya Srimulat, starting from the creation of space in order to attract visitors by optimizing modern design combined with a pop art style. Srimulat wax figure sculpture gallery is expected to be one - the only place that provides a means of education and introduce Srimulat again to be remembered by the people of Surabaya and Indonesia.

Abstract

Lion dance were  the China’s origin sport and art who are now become the part of Indonesia’s culture. Usually such as another sports and arts lion dance has a long historical background, roles in society life even in political and also true purpose in entertaining as well as educating us. So to represent the things mentioned above writer create the The Design Work of Lion Dance Arena on Surabaya. Hopefully, through this design can be a forum for lion dance lovers in East Java to pour their love of lion dance while preserving the cultural heritage of China and Indonesia.

Abstract

Seeing the lack of dining facilities in the city of Blitar which is a city of tourism, and as well as its increasingly forgotten folklore that exist in this city then be made to the design of the restaurant with the application of folklore. The restaurant is applying folklore that exist in Blitar, it’s the origin of the town name of Blitar and Jaka Kandung and a Turtledove. Setting, character figures, and the atmosphere on the both story above was applied in the processing of space. The concept of design is through the time which applied folklore setting with the Majapahit era and combined with the current state showing design with eclectic style.

Abstract

This work design is motivated by women's need for shopping specially for a big city like Surabaya. This need would need to be facilitated. A Shopping center which have few retails and a place to relax is demand by women. Therefore, designing shopping center interior for women in Surabaya was made.                The design theme is "elegant beauty" which is compactible with women character, target design is a women teenage and women young adult. This shopping center for women design project expected to become an example for other shopping center for specializing shopping center for women.

Abstract

Busyness and metropolitan lifestyle society today command critical thinking and active motion are often the cause of physical fatigue and pressure so that cause stress and depression. For it is necessary needs a tool that can provide the facilities of revitalization which provide comfort, tranquility and peace physical and psychological. Taking the concept of each country who is the pionerr of rejuvenating techniques like Japan, China, Thailand and Indonesia. Starting from the creating atmosphere that support the revitalization of the Rejuvenating of every client who comes, to optimize the natural modern design that gives the impression of relaxed , calm and hommy. Asian Spa Center is expected to be the only place that offers Rejuvenating spa themselves through a culture, and a country which is traditional and typical and also can satisfy the current needs of the Surabaya society  in terms of relaxation and recreation because of tired and stress.

Abstract

This research is conducted to discover visitors’ visual perception on applied theme of every zone in Museum Angkut. Museum Angkut has many zones, but the ones that will be researched are Batavia and Pecinan zone, Gangster Town and Broadway Street zone, Italy zone, Paris zone, Germany zone, London Street zone, Buckingham Palace zone, Las Vegas zone, and Hollywood zone. The method applied in this research is inductive qualitative with descriptive approach supported by in-depth interview data gathering technique, by using purposive sampling technique with 10 correspondents that were divided into two groups: five correspondents who have no interior design academic background and another five who have interior design academic background. The result found that visual perception caught by correspondents who have no interior design academic background is different from those who have interior design academic background in terms of shape and space variables. The research discovered that visitors could recognize the applied theme more through shape variable. Correspondents recognized shape variables based on symbols, writings, and transportations’ display, while space variables were acknowledged through circulation and theme’s relevance.

Abstract

The growing number of cars in Indonesia is getting higher, particularly in big cities like Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia. Aesthetic considerations become a major factor in choosing a car. With the rapidly growing amount of cars, the number of car repair services also increased. This is because the car owners always wants their car to be perfect. Therefore, whenever there is minor or major accident, the car owners will try to restore the condition of their car to its initial condition. Yuspeed is one of car repair shops in the city of Surabaya. A company's revenue is influenced by a lot of things, one of which is the presence of good interior design. With a well planned interior design in Yu'Speed, it is expected to provide a good repair services, and also makes visitors feel pampered and comfortable.

Abstract

Wedding House which is located in Surabaya, is a wedding service design project. In this design, all of the facilities will be provided in one area so that the bride and groom do not need a lot of time for searching the wedding needs. These facilities are wedding organizer, invitation and souvenir area, tarts area, decoration and lighting area, documentation, bridal and salon, accessories area, and ballroom. These areas will be applied as retails and serving the special needs for the wedding. Of differences the character of each area, Wedding House will merge into a single concept that would create characters from Wedding House itself. Wedding House will be designed according the style of western wedding. Therefore, form application and interior’s character will be design in modern style. By applying the one-stop wedding service system, Wedding House will focus on efficiency and productivity of work so that fulfill the wedding needs.

Abstract

The emergence of theater community and  arts institution in Indonesia proved that the development of the art of drama/theater is growing. The community is able to deliver good performances, mature and  both visually. This research to determine the set of stage elements that are applied to the staging platform "Bunga Rumah Makan" and "Operasi" uses descriptive qualitative method with an empirical approach (Moleong, 2007, p11). The research object is Scenery Realist Theater performances on building Sawunggaling. With field studies, collecting data library research, interviews and questionnaires in 2 cases realist theater in Sawunggaling Shows Building, State University of Surabaya.     This analysis technique used for this study conducted randomly or random sample. (Arikunto, 1983, p.93). Determination of sampling, giving questionnaires to a random audience with a number of 30 pieces each staging.The result showed, that 2 scenery realist theater at the stage University of Surabaya included in either category, it appears from the appreciation of the audience were positive and scenery standards that apply.Scenery realist theater can besaid to be ideal.Conclusions on the analysis of a set of elements of this stage is skeneri on both the interior staging interesting, balanced, unified and attractive design. Obtained lighting gives the impression of a warm, comfortable, energetic and intimate. While supplies (interior elements and aesthetic elements) forming an interior composition skeneri good, so it feels unity with the surrounding atmosphere.

Abstract

The design of Cafe-Library and Resto is one of the new breakthrough in creating a new ambience in a library and giving it a unique atmosphere and can attract people’s interests. Besides, development of the culinary world has expanded rapidly, whereas people often spend their time to visit a restaurant or café to relax or to do something. Usually, restaurant and café business find it hard to decide the loyalty of a customer, because the customer always want to try and enjoy a new menu and ambience as well. Only a few people who are truly loyal to a restaurant or café. Which brings us to the development of restaurants in indonesia that are focussing to the young customer’s segmentation that always want to try new things and making them not only just a satisfy the hunger, but also a place to gather with friends and families. By creating a new ambience such as the Cafe-Library and Resto design, the customers can enjoy a restaurant-class dish and also read or look for some information at the mini library. Supported by a commercial interior design, it is expected from this design to increase people’s interest to visit this place. So, this Cafe-Library and Resto design can accommodate people’s activities and is compatible with those standards of comfort, safety, and also customer’s need and fullfill its purpose.
