Abstract

This research was motivated by the limited use of interactive learning media in Indonesian language learning for second-grade elementary school students, resulting in low student engagement during classroom activities. This study aimed to determine the validity of a Wordwall-based educational game for Indonesian language learning in second-grade elementary school. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, limited to the Development stage. The research instruments consisted of validation sheets completed by material, media, and language experts. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and validation questionnaires. Pre-test results showed that all students had not achieved the Minimum Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP), with an average achievement score of 57.4%, indicating the need for more interactive learning media. The validation results showed that the educational game obtained scores of 84% from the material expert, 100% from the media expert, and 90% from the language expert, with an average validity of 91.3%, categorized as highly valid. Therefore, the developed Wordwall-based educational game is highly valid and feasible for use as an interactive learning medium in Indonesian language learning for second-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for augmented reality-based flashcard media for teaching the human respiratory system in fifth-grade elementary school students. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach supported by simple quantitative data obtained from a needs analysis questionnaire. The research was conducted at UPT SDN Kingking 2 Tuban, involving a fifth-grade teacher and nine fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, teacher interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, supported by source and technique triangulation. The findings showed that the learning process was still dominated by textbooks, student worksheets, teacher explanations, and simple instructional videos. Students experienced difficulties in identifying respiratory organs, understanding their functions, and relating the structure and function of the organs. The average daily test score was 66.2, with only three of nine students achieving the minimum learning criteria. The questionnaire results indicated that 88.89% of students needed more engaging and interactive learning media. Furthermore, 88.89% of students expressed interest in learning media featuring three-dimensional images and augmented reality. These findings indicate a strong need for visual, interactive, and concrete learning media to support students' understanding of the abstract concepts of the human respiratory system. Therefore, augmented reality-based flashcards are considered a relevant and potential learning medium to be developed for IPAS learning in fifth-grade elementary schools.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of grade IV students at SD Negeri Gedongombo 1 on the solar system topic are presumed to be related to the limited availability of concrete and interactive learning media. This condition underscores the need for innovative instructional materials capable of bridging the gap between abstract astronomical concepts and the cognitive capacity of grade IV students, who remain at the concrete-operational stage. This study aims to examine the validity of three-dimensional pop-up book media on the solar system topic as an IPAS (natural and social science) learning medium for grade IV. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method at the product-validation stage, using descriptive quantitative analysis based on assessments from three independent validators (a language expert, a content expert, and a media expert) using a 1-5 Likert-scale instrument. The language expert validation yielded 100% (Very Valid), the content expert 94% (Very Valid), and the media expert 96% (Very Valid), with an overall average of 96.7%. All three validators confirmed the media is feasible for use without substantial revision. Because this study is limited to the expert-validation stage, claims regarding actual improvement of student learning outcomes require further testing through practicality and effectiveness trials involving students.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the feasibility of an interactive e-book incorporating Semanding local wisdom for Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in fourth-grade elementary school classes. The research was motivated by the limited availability of contextual digital learning media and the insufficient integration of local wisdom into IPAS instruction at the elementary school level. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, with particular emphasis on the development phase and product validation process. The product was evaluated by three validators consisting of a media expert, a language expert, and a subject-matter expert. The validation instrument assessed several aspects, including visual appearance, functionality, content, language, and curriculum alignment. Data were analyzed using percentage calculations to determine the feasibility level of the developed media. The findings revealed that the interactive e-book achieved a validation score of 100% from the media expert, 96% from the language expert, and 85% from the material expert, resulting in an overall average score of 93.67%, which falls within the very feasible category. These results indicate that the developed media satisfies the required feasibility standards in terms of design, functionality, language use, and content quality. Therefore, the interactive e-book based on Semanding local wisdom is considered highly appropriate for use as a learning medium in fourth-grade IPAS learning and is ready to be implemented during the product trial stage.
