Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic condition presents obstacles for lecturers and students of the Pharmacy Study Program in all aspects of life, including the educational aspect. One of the obstacles faced is the limitations of lecturers and students of Pharmacy in conducting field and laboratory research, so that it can have an impact on delays in the implementation of the tridharma. Literature review can be an option in overcoming these obstacles. This community service aims to improve targeting capabilities and design a literature review study as an alternative research solution during a pandemic. The method used in this activity is in the form of delivering material and guided discussions through webinars with the zoom meeting platform and YouTube Livestreaming on the Pharmacy account of the University of Mataram. The webinar is divided into 2 sessions, namely a material presentation session and a clinical session for writing scientific articles with experts. A total of 77 participants attended the activity consisting of lecturers from health groups and pharmacy students. The enthusiasm of the participants was quite high as evidenced by a number of questions submitted in the discussion session. Participants' responses to the activities ranged from 4.2 to 4.7 which indicated that the event was going well with an assessment using a Likert scale from 1 to 5. The components of the assessment included time suitability, material suitability, participants' understanding of the material, moderator behavior, benefits of the event for participants and participant's opinion on the event. The ability of community service participants increases in designing literature studies through the output of articles that will be submitted in reputable journals.

Abstract

Salah satu penyebab rendahnya produksi dan kualitas madu di Indonesia adalah masih rendahnya pengetahuan teknologi budidaya madu. Pemeriksaan sarang lebah secara rutin atau manual membutuhkan lebih banyak waktu dan usaha. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dalam pengabdian ini memperkenalkan dan melakukan pelatihan tentang sistem penentuan hasil madu berdasarkan perubahan intensitas buzzer menggunakan alat bantu yang dipasang pada sarang lebah, Prototype ini dapat bermanfaat bagi pembudidaya lebah di Desa Ciburial Kecamatan Cimenyan Kabupaten Bandung yaitu kemampuan menunjukkan sarang tanpa madu atau sarang berisi madu, alat tersebut dihubungkan kepada perangkat laptop atau komputer dengan bantuan jaringan internet, sehingga para pembudidaya lebah tidak perlu memeriksa sarang lebah satu per satu dengan membukanya, akan tetapi cukup memeriksa dari perangkat laptop atau komputer tersebut. Dampaknya mampu mengefisiensikan pekerjaan dan waktu bagi pembudidaya lebah. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan edukasi pemanfaatan teknologi dalam membudidayakan lebah untuk membantu mengefektifkan waktu, tenaga tapi tetap mendapatkan kualitas madu terbaik. Metode kegiatan melalui community relation yaitu penyuluhan dan pelatihan pengembangan kapasitas alih pengetahuan dengan pemanfaatan teknologi edukasi pembudidaya lebah. Pengabdian masyarakat ini berdampak pada meningkatnya pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan kemapuan pembudidaya lebah dalam pemanfaatan teknologi IOT (Intenet of Things), sekaligus menghasilkan kualitas madu terbaik karena dipanen tepat pada waktunya.Kata Kunci: Internet Of Things, Cloudata, Pembudidaya lebah, Madu

Abstract

Jamu is an ingredient from plant, animal material, mineral material, or a mixture of these ingredients for treatment based on experience. One of the jamu that are often consumed by Indonesian people, especially women, is the turmeric tamarind jamu. The turmeric and tamarind jamu is believed by most women to relieve pain during menstruation period. However, its current use has not been accompanied by the optimum dosage and side effects. Therefore, the toxicity test was carried out as an initial screening to predict the toxic levels that might be caused by the turmeric tamarind jamu. In this study, the bioactive substances in turmeric tamarind jamu will be identified, as well as the level of toxicity based on the LC50 value. Using variations in extract concentration, this study used a fully randomized approach. The powdered sample of turmeric tamarind jamu brand X was dissolved in water and then tested for phytochemical screening. Phytochemical screening including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, steroids/terpenoids, and saponins screening was carried out qualitatively, the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method was used to carry out the toxicity.The results of the phytochemical screening showed that the turmeric tamarind jamu contains alkaloids, flavonoids, tepenoid, steroid and tannins. The results of the toxicity test of the turmeric tamarind jamu showed the LC50 value in 3366.656 ppm and classified as non-toxic because it had LC50 value more than 1000 ppm.

Abstract

The use of experimental animals in drug research needs to be done before testing on humans. The increase in the use of experimental animals and ethical demands in pharmaceutical research have encouraged an increase in the capacity of laboratory staff in a sustainable manner, including in the Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Animal welfare greatly influences research results. The concept of welfare in question is "Five Freedom". In addition, the principles of replacement, reduction, refinement must also be fulfilled. This needs to be considered in order to get valid research results. The purpose of this activity is to train and support the basic knowledge and skills of laboratory assistants in handling experimental animals at Pharmacy colleges in West Nusa Tenggara. The training was conducted at the pharmacology laboratory of the Pharmacy Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, University of Mataram. The training begins with giving the participants a pretest, followed by delivery of materials and workshops to increase knowledge regarding the process of handling experimental animals, then ends with the participants filling out the posttest. After delivering the material and workshops, an increase in evaluation results was obtained in the form of an increase in the posttest scores of the participants related to knowledge about the material handling of the experimental animals presented. The average pretest score was 63.00 ± 21.11 with a score of 20.00 (lowest) and 90.00 (highest), experiencing an increase in knowledge based on the posttest average score of 74.00 ± 14.97 with a score of 60.00 (lowest) and 100.00 (highest). Conclusion: This training activity can increase the knowledge and skills of laboratory assistants at various pharmaceutical colleges in NTB regarding the basic handling of experimental animals.

Abstract

The COVID-19 vaccination program began in Indonesia in 2020, but it is still unknown how well it has been received by particular communities in places like the West Nusa Tenggara region's Islamic boarding schools. This research aimed to identify the characteristics and factors that contribute to the COVID-19 vaccine's acceptance at the Nurul Islam Sekarbela Islamic Boarding School. In August 2022, a cross-sectional survey was conducted on a stratified random sample of chosen boarding school students using a validated questionnaire. Data on demographic factors, COVID-19 history, religious acceptance, and opinions were all examined descriptively. A total of 124 students, or 62%, gave their informed permission. Based on the findings, it was determined that the Nurul Islam Sekarbela Islamic Boarding School's level of acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine is still considered low (35%) and in doubt (65%). Acceptance of vaccines is mostly influenced by efficacy, safety, and family recommendations. Acceptance of vaccines is impeded by the dominant fatalistic religious mindset.

Abstract

Paramphistomiasis berdampak pada penurunan produktivitas dan harga jual ternak. Jamu ternak “X” memiliki klaim untuk mengatasi berbagai cacingan pada ternak, namun studi pada paramphistomiasis belum dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas jamu ternak “X” terhadap indeks ketahanan hidup dan pergerakan relatif pada Paramphistomum sp. Paramphistomum diambil dari RPH majeluk kemudian diidentifikasi menggunakan metode preparat awetan. Sejumlah 15 cacing dimasukkan ke dalam 5 cawan petri yang berisi Albendazol 10% b/v sebagai kontrol positif, NaCl 0,9% b/v sebagai kontrol negatif dan perlakuan jamu konsentrasi 40%, 20%, dan 10% b/v. Indeks ketahanan hidup dan pergerakan relatif dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis, Mann-Whitney dan Post Hoc dengan SPSS 25. Hasil uji rerata indeks ketahanan hidup dan pergerakan relatif cacing tiap konsentrasi seduhan jamu ternak “X” berbeda signifikan dengan NaCl 0,9% b/v (p<0,05). Seduhan jamu ternak konsentrasi 40% b/v efektif sebagai anti paramphistomiasis dengan rerata indeks ketahanan hidup dan pergerakan relatif yang sebanding dengan Albendazol 10% b/v (p>0,05).
