Abstract

Otolith is used as one of the techniques to estimate the age of fish by looking at the annual otolith circle. Measuring the age of fish become an important aspect because its relevance to the growth and survival of fish. Database of fish age serve as one of basic information in effort management of fish resources in Bangka Island. This research was conducted in two stages; first is field sampling in TPI Ketapang – Pangkalpinang to sampling Lethrinus lentjan samples. Second is laboratory process for morphometric and age determination analysis. The result showed that the total calculation of morphometric characteristics of Lencam Fish (Lethrinus lentjan) is 23 characters. In morphometric characters, some of the total length and standard length of the fish samples are 25.5 cm and 21.5 cm. The age of Lencam Fish (Lethrinus lentjan) ranged from 1 - 3 years where the increasing length of fish body then the age of fish will increase until reach asimtot (saturated growth).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the water quality analysis in South Bangka Regency, especially the coastal area, by analyzing the physical-chemical conditions and suitability of salt pond locations. The location of study was conducted in the coastal area of Mempunai, Batu Perahu, Kubu, Tanjung Kemirai, and Puding. The location of study was conducted in the coastal area of Mempunai, Batu Perahu, Kubu, Tanjung Kemirai, and Puding. During the present investigation the minimun and maximum value of water temperature (29 – 32oC), brightness (0,32 – 0,87 m), current (0 – 0,35 m/s), tidal are commonly diurnal (one high and one low tide each day), pH (6,7 – 8,2), salinity (30 – 33,2 o/oo) These areas are dominated by sand and clay. The result of salt pond location suitability analysis is based on water quality in the coastal area. Mempunai, Kubu, Tanjung Kemirai and Puding Beach generally quite-appropriate for salt pond location, different with coastal area of Batu Perahu have inappropriate category for suitability of salt pond location

This study aims to assess the area of the building Breakwater of the area protected fish species, determine the species composition, abundance of fish by category type and feeding habits of fish and fish community structure which was implemented in April 2019 in the area of the building Breakwater and Non Breakwater in Matras Beach Bangka. The method uses a combination of visual census and gill nets to take fish of data. The results of the study recorded the number of individual fish in the area as many as 3741 individual Breakwater building consists of 22 species from 14 families and Non Breakwater much as one individual, namely the species Carangoides plagioenia of the family Carangidae, Category types and feeding habits of the fish in the area at the Beach breakwater buildings consist of 14 species of fish targets and 8 major fish species, while the eating habits of the fish listed nine types of herbivorous fish species, 11 types of carnivorous fish species, two species of omnivorous fish types. Fish ecology index showed an unstable community with dominance index which tends to be low and fish species are spread relatively evenly and Non Breakwater showed that depressed communities with dominance index tends to be high and fish species are not evenly distributed.
