Abstract

The increasing number of package shipments of goods at JNE Mojokerto could highly affect the delays in time delivery. It is strongly necessary to mathematically estimate the number of package shipments of goods for the next month to prepare the resources that are needed by the company. The estimated number of deliveries is calculated by applying the Double Exponential Smoothing method. The monthly data obtained from January 2017 until December 2019 are used in that method, while the 4 months data from January 2020 until April 2020 are used to validated the estimation results. This result shows that the estimation for 4 months from January 2020 until April 2020 are 86421, 87787, 89154, and 90520 respectively. From the validation, the mean absolute percentage error 8%.

Abstract

An image might have noises that could lose important information on that image. As a consequence, we need a consistent method to reduce the noise without erasing the important information. In this paper, ROF Total Variation using Split Bregman is applied to the image to reduce the noise. We choose the monochrome image of the human capillaries on the fingertips.

Abstract

In this paper, it is discussed about giving control variable to dynamic systems to process the spread of viruses on computers. The dynamic model describes the process of spreading viruses on the computer, where susceptible can be instantly removed and infected can instantly become susceptible. And through qualitative analysis on the model is given a control and completed using the Pontryagin Maximum Principle (PMP) method on infected interactions so that the infected computer can be minimized. Dynamic models that have been given control are simulated using MATLAB software and the results show the infected computer is reduced enough significan.

Abstract

An extension of the metric space in which the distance of the same point is not always zero is called a partial metric space. Orthogonality is the relation of two perpendicular lines at one point of intersection forming a right angle. There are several ways to define orthogonality, including Pythagorean Orthogonality, Isosceles Orthogonality, and Birkhoff-James Orthogonality. The purpose of this research is to study the consistency of the definition of orthogonality in the metric space to the partial metric space. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the partial metric space can be obtained by linear induction from a metric space. Then, in developing the definition of orthogonality to the partial metric space, it can be concluded that the qualified orthogonality is the I-orthogonality and the BJ-orthogonality, while the P-orthogonality does not qualify the consistency of the definition of orthogonality in the partial metric space. Kata Kunci: Orthogonality, Consistency, and Partial metric space

Abstract

Scheduling subjects in a school often gives a conflicting schedule to some teachers. On the other hand, graph theory can help to solve. One of the methods to solve the problem is implementing a coloring graph. In this paper, we apply the coloring graph using the Welch-Powell algorithm for scheduling subjects in MTs Al-Khoiriyah.Keywords: Welch-Powell algorithm, Coloring graph.

Abstract

The Nurse Scheduling Problem (NSP) is a critical issue in healthcare management, involving the assignment of nurses to shifts while adhering to constraints such as hospital requirements, legal obligations, and nurse preferences. A key objective is to balance workloads among nurses, minimizing variance to prevent burnout and ensure high-quality patient care. Despite various models addressing NSP, such as goal programming and stochastic methods, a significant gap remains in balancing workloads within individual shifts, which is crucial for nurse well-being and operational efficiency. This study develops an optimized nurse scheduling model for the emergency department (ED) of Dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA) in Malang, using data from January 2024. The model considers 21 nurses, including 4 chief nurses, and aims to minimize workload variance across shifts while ensuring each nurse works at least 21 days per month. The simulation results show that the optimized schedule achieves a more equitable distribution of shifts and days off compared to the actual January 2024 schedule. The optimized model ensures that all nurses, except chief nurses, are assigned 21 working days with evenly distributed rest days, reducing fatigue and enhancing nurse well-being. This study advances NSP research by focusing on workload balance within shifts, contributing to improved healthcare service quality and nurse satisfaction. Future research should explore adaptive scheduling and incorporate factors like nurse preferences and patient acuity to further enhance scheduling flexibility and efficiency. Abstract

Computational thinking ability is a skill required in 21st-century learning. Computational thinking becomes an important skill to train students in problem-solving, especially because each student has diverse multiple intelligences. This study aims to describe the process of computational thinking in arithmetic sequences based on multiple intelligences. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Participants in this study were selected using purposive sampling techniques based on students' multiple intelligences. Six subjects were chosen using purposive sampling, including two with visual-spatial intelligence, two with verbal-linguistic intelligence, and two with logical-mathematical intelligence. Data collection approaches included tests and interviews. Data analysis on the process of students' computational thinking was viewed based on their multiple intelligences, such as visual-spatial, verbal-linguistic, and logical-mathematical. The analysis results revealed that the computational thinking process of the three student groups began with dissecting the problem. Visual-spatial intelligence students excelled at pattern detection throughout the algorithmic thinking level. Students with verbal-linguistic intelligence solved the problem by first understanding the illustration and then abstracting the problem information using mathematical words to create generalizations of general formulas. Students with logical-mathematical intelligence think by performing abstraction and generalization using mathematical symbols. The debugging stage was not performed by all students, resulting in less accurate final results.
