Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in early childhood independence based on the mother's employment status in MDA Kampung Durian, Medan Perjuangan District. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using descriptive qualitative data analysis, namely data collected in the form of words, pictures and not numbers. The data used in this research is primary data. Namely data obtained directly from the field. In this study, primary data was obtained by observation and interviews. The results of this study are that children whose mothers work have a high level of independence compared to children whose mothers do not work and the status of mothers who work or not can also be a factor of a child's independence.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the motive or urge behind the high interest of the Roblox online game in school age children. This research uses the qualitative method with phenomenology approach. The subject of this research are five children with one year Roblox experience. The result of the research analyzed by Alfred Schutz's phenomenologycal theory and shows that the because motive of the use of Roblox online game is due to the influence of ads and Youtube videos, curiosity that stems from visual similarities with previous games experience, and the fear of missing out. The in order to motive of the informant is to increase skill, to travel in real life someday like in the game, to find new friends, and to have their own laptop to access Roblox Studio and make their own game. The meaning of using Roblox online game for children is the meaning of entertainment and the meaning of togetherness.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the comparison of the use of learning models that are applied (Learning Cycle and Lecture learning models) in economic subjects with government policy material in the economy in class IX science (Specialization) SMAN 9 Jambi City. Based on the results of the study, an analysis was obtained in the control class (the results of the initial pretest were 6 students who graduated and at the final pretest as many as 8 students graduated). Meanwhile, in the experimental class (the results of the initial pretest were 8 students who graduated and in the final pretest as many as 15 students who graduated from KKM). Meanwhile, in the control class post test as many as 23 students did not pass the KKM (67.65%), and only 11 students passed the KKM (32.35%), and in the experimental class post test students who had grades below KKM 8 students (23.53%) and above KKM 26 students (76.47%). Thus, it can be concluded that the Learning Cycle learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills, and help students be more focused in learning compared to the lecture learning model. Because when the teaching and learning process is more centered on the student's role and not dominated by the teacher's role, it is different from the lecture learning model where the teacher plays an active role when learning takes place. Abstract

Researcher investigate how to be able to carry out conversations efficiently and effectively in computer-based media using Grice's cooperative principle theory. Researcher use the Qualitative method. The researcher took one of the questions in Quora Indonesia "Mengapa dosen atau pihak kampus tidak melarang mahasiswa ikut demo?", the answer to this question was used as the object of study. The results of this study reveal that there are types of Non-observance of the maxim, namely opting out of a maxim in 9 (100%) of the 17 answers: opting out of maxim quantity (22%), opting out of maxim quality (22%), opting out maxim relevance (22%), opting out of maxim manner (33%).

Abstract

Minang or Minangkabau is an ethnic cultural group that adheres to a distinctive customary system, namely the family system according to female lineage which is called the matrilineal system. In Minangkabau culture, marriage is one of the important events in the life cycle and is a very significant transitional period in forming a new small family group for offspring. The purpose of this research is to find out the symbolic meaning in Minangkabau traditional marriage. This research uses a qualitative method and uses the Peirce’s theory. The informants of this study are people who understand Minangkabau culture, such as the coconut of the Minangkabau tribe. Data collection techniques through observation and direct interviews to the field and obtain information from several books and websites. the results obtained were: maminang (applying), rapek sumando (consultation of traditional leaders), malam bainai (attaching henna to the bride), Manjapuik marapulai (picking up the groom), basandiang (side by side). Then the researcher compiles, describes, and writes the symbolic meanings that exist in the traditional Minangkabau wedding steps.

Abstract

This study focuses the translation techniques in the film script Encanto. The goals of this research are to determine the types of translation procedures employed in the Encanto Movie Script, as well as to assess how these approaches are applied. Because study is conducted using sentences and clauses, the researcher employed qualitative research methodologies. The information was obtained from the Disney Hot Star App subtitle for the film "Encanto". The researcher collected data using Molina and Albir's (2002) theory. Data obtained by reading the script in both English and Indonesian, recognizing the data, categorizing the data, evaluating the data, and drawing conclusions.The researcher discovered 136 data. there were: Literal translation, Establish Equivalent, Linguistic Compression, Borrowing, Calque, Adaptation, Compensation

Abstract

Industri pariwisata di Indonesia, khususnya di kota Medan sudah mulai bangkit dan berangsur pulih setelah dilanda covid-19. Kunjungan wisatawan semakin ramai membuat objek wisata di kota Medan memberikan kontribusi bagi pemerintah kota Medan. Terjadinya lonjakan pengunjung disebabkan beberapa faktor diantaranya adalah adanya komunikasi atau bahasa informasi yang bersifat persuasif sehingga memberikan nilai positif dan dampak terhadap pertambahan jumlah pengunjung wisatawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh komunikasi persuasif dalam meningkatkan jumlah wisatawan pada objek wisata di Kota Medan, khususnya di Istana Maimun Medan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah sampling accidental. Sumber data primer penelitian ini yaitu diperoleh dengan cara menyebarkan quesioner kepada pengunjung objek wisata tersebut. Jenis skala yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala likert. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa komunikasi persuasif berpengaruh signifikan terhadap minat wisatawan. Besarnya kontribusi komunikasi persuasif dalam mempengaruhi minat wisatawan adalah sebesar 0,465. Artinya bahwa komunikasi persuasif sangat penting karena akan mampu meningkat jumlah wisatawan sebesar 46,50%.
