Abstract

The growth of industrial world is an undeniable problem in the environment where industrial behavior often ignores impacts on the environment, such as water, soil, air pollution and social inequality in the environment. The purpose of this study is intended to determine the role of green accounting in reducing environmental pollution and to examine the extent to which the application of green accounting in Indonesia in supporting sustainability. This study uses an interpretive approach which focus on the subjective nature of social world and tries to understand it. Green accounting has difficulty measuring the value of costs and benefits of externalities arising from industrial processes. It is not easy to measure the loss to people around and the ecological environment caused by air pollution, liquid waste, ammonia tube leakage, nuclear tube leakage or other externalities. Unfortunately, in its application, often some companies do not report bad news they are facing, so reporting on environmental costs is not effective.

Abstract

Compliance with medication for tuberculosis patients is one of the determinants of the success of therapy in addition to the effectiveness of antibiotics. The aim of this study is to identify the factors that influence the success of a therapy, in the long-term use of antibiotics for tuberculosis. We use questionnaires that we have created and validated in interviews and can be used to directly measure the level of compliance with the therapy experienced by the patient. This research method is an observational study with cross-sectional design and retrospective data collection. Respondents were patients with tuberculosis, both new and recurrent. The study sample consisted of 30 respondents with sequential sampling selection and the basis for patient interviews. The analysis used is a Chi-square binary between a variable in the history of tuberculosis with a long diagnosis during therapy that shows a relationship between education and family involvement in helping treatment especially in male patients with a P value <0,05. Multivariate analysis showed that men who never completed education even though they were still in a productive age had a low level of compliance. The results of the interviews showed that patients who obeyed the drug only reached 30% with scores reaching a score of 8. This is due to the large amount of medication taken, so the risk of success of therapy is very large. This research shows that the level of education, information, and family environment can support patient medication compliance. In addition, the more the amount of medication taken, the lower the patient's compliance.

Abstract

Mie-Diabet is a culinary concept that emphasises the utilisation of balanced and nutritious ingredients to produce noodles that can improve health and quality of life. In contemporary society, a balanced and nutritious diet is essential for sustaining physical health, particularly for the younger population that favours inexpensive food options. Mie-Diabet enhances quality of life by supplying essential nourishment and mitigating the risk of sugar-related ailments. Mie-Diabet embodies the principle of nutritious cuisine that can be appreciated by individuals of all ages, serving as an accompaniment to various dishes, including meatballs, which are particularly favoured by the Indonesian populace. Pento.in is an UMKM in Maros Regency that has popularity among the young and is a favoured snack among the populace. Pento.in has been operational for nearly a year but has not yet obtained a PIRT permission. Consequently, the UMI professor team identifies a chance to present Mie-Diabet to the Maros community through partnership with Pento.in, while simultaneously promoting UMKMs to secure PIRT and Halal certification in the future. Furthermore, Mie-Diabet will assist in preserving physical condition by substituting high-sugar meals, such as other harmful instant noodles. The education delivered has demonstrated efficacy in enhancing the UMKM community's comprehension of the Mie-Diabet product. The substantial rise in average scores post-education clearly indicates that the observed difference is statistically significant and not attributable to chance. These instructional initiatives can significantly aid UMKMs in comprehending and integrating innovative items that enhance public health.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a disorder characterized by hypertension and proteinuria that manifests during gestation. Various vitamins can influence food consumption during pregnancy. Folic acid supplementation is known to reduce preeclampsia risk, yet adherence remains low among pregnant women. The objective of the research is to identify risk variables and dosage efficacy associated with folic acid utilization. This study employs an retrospective cohort study and utilizes retrospective data collection. Data was gathered from Cahaya Ibu Pharmacy Store in Makassar, encompassing a total of 164 patients. A chi-square statistical study indicated a substantial risk association between pregnant women and the onset of hypertension in comparison to nonpregnant individuals, with a p-value of 0.001. Pregnant women had twice the risk, as shown by an odds ratio of 1.9. The study of Fisher's test data indicates a correlation between patient age and hypertension condition. The findings indicate no substantial correlation between the two variables, with a p-value of 0.523. The findings indicate a substantial correlation between the mitigation of raised blood pressure risk and the consumption of folic acid. The early use of folic acid during pregnancy planning significantly diminishes the likelihood of preeclampsia. Risk factors for preeclampsia include insufficient folic acid consumption, the duration of folic acid supplementation, and the pregnancy status of individuals with a disease risk of up to 98%. Less at age 30 years old, the consumption of folic acid may reduce the risk.

Abstract

Introduction: The repeated use of anticoagulants like heparin and antiplatelets such as clopidogrel in individuals with vascular thrombosis necessitates an evaluation of the nephrotoxicity risk. Objective: This study seeks to assess the impacts of heparin and clopidogrel on renal function. Method: This cohort retrospective design examined data from 120 individuals with vascular thrombosis who were administered heparin (n=60) or clopidogrel (n=60). Renal parameters (serum creatinine, eGFR) were evaluated prior to and following therapy. The statistical analysis employed a paired t-test and multivariate logistic regression, utilising a 95% confidence interval. Results and Discussion: The heparin cohort had a notable elevation in serum creatinine (1.8±0.4 vs 1.2±0.3 mg/dL; p=0.02) and a reduction in eGFR (45±12 vs 68±15 mL/min/1.73m²; p=0.01) in comparison to the clopidogrel group. Therapy exceeding 7 days elevated the incidence of renal impairment by 2.3-fold (OR: 2.3; 95% CI: 1.4-3.8) in the heparin cohort. The nephrotoxic impact of heparin is much greater in patients with cardiovascular comorbidities (p=0.04). Conclusion: Heparin presents a greater risk of inducing renal dysfunction than clopidogrel, particularly with prolonged usage and in individuals with concomitant conditions. Rigorous oversight of renal function and evaluation of alternate treatments are advised.

Abstract

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation of the joints. The selection of corticosteroids with broad indications is used as an adjunct therapy because of its anti-inflammatory activity and immune suppression. The research aimed to determine the efficacy and safety profile of corticosteroids in rheumatoid arthritis patients. The method used was a literature review with a narrative review design based on inclusion and exclusion criteria through the PubMed and Google Scholar databases. The results showed that the Prednisone group with varying doses of 5 mg; 6.25 mg; 10 mg gave better efficacy than the placebo group or Methotrexate monotherapy against disease activity with the DAS28 parameter. Prednisone safety was observed from the side effects, hypertension; hyperglycemia and adverse events, headache; reported diarrhea. The review show that the use of Prednisone tab 10 mg/day provided the best efficacy in the first 3 months (p<0.001) with the DAS28 parameter which achieved the greatest clinical remission. The side effects of Prednisone could not be concluded between the effect of dose and the level of drug safety.
