Abstract

The ability to speak English is a must to survive in global competition. As education people always try and want to explore to improve the quality of graduates who are better with a variety of methods, but the results are still not satisfactory as expected. Various attempts to improve English learning outcomes have been carried out through suitable and fun learning models using in-service and on-service training systems, but after completing the training many teachers returned to the old teaching method (teacher centered). Communicative approach methods / approaches have not been implemented so that the results achieved have not been improved. Of the four English language skills, the lowest score is speaking skills. The main cause is the low student interest in learning and the use of media that is less interesting, coupled with teaching and learning activities in the classroom that are boring. Seeing this kind of teacher creativity is needed, for example by conducting teaching and learning activities based on visual illustration media according to the tastes of the child but so that it can meet the demands of the curriculum and keep abreast of technological developments. The research method used is to use the concept of Action Research Class which consists of 2 cycles, where each cycle consists of several stages, namely planning, action implementation, observation and evaluation and reflection. Classroom action research on improving speaking English by applying cybernetic learning theory and visual illustration media carried out over two cycles is able to be an alternative learning reference for teachers and students who are fun.

Abstract

The School Literacy Movement is a movement in an effort to foster student character that strives for students to have a culture of reading and writing so as to create lifelong learning. This routine activity is carried out to foster students' interest in reading and improve reading skills. The reading material contains the values ​​of character, consisting of local, national and global wisdom, which are delivered according to the participants' development. Interest in reading is one of the keys to one's success in knowing and adding insights to his knowledge. Activities to increase reading interest must be held and promoted. In line with the rapid development of science and technology, the more in printing technology the more information stored in books. At all levels of education, reading ability becomes a priority scale that students must master. By reading, students will obtain various information that has never been obtained before.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi bahwa kinerja karyawan karyawan merupakan aspek penting dalam menunjang keberhasilan suatu organisasi dan perusahaan. Gaya kepemimpinan, kualitas sumber daya manusia dan profesionalisme merupakan salah satu faktor dalam menghasilkan kinerja yang berhasil, khususnya pada PT. PERWIRA ADIKA TRIA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif karena data yang dikumpulkan karena data yang dikumpul berdasarkan hasil kuesioner langsung dari responden  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan PT. PERWIRA ADIKA TRIA, yang berjumlah 30 orang. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan, kualitas sumber daya manusia, dan profesionalisme tidak semua berpengaruh positif terhadap efektivitas kerja secara parsial. Secara parsial hanya variabel kualitas sumber daya manusia yang tidak berpengaruh positif namun tidak signifikan karena nilai dari signifikansinya lebih besar dari 0.05 yaitu sebesar 0,087. Pengujian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan, kualitas sumber daya manusia, dan profesionalisme berpengaruh dan signifikan secara simultan terhadap efektivitas kerja. Hal berarti korelasi antara gaya kepemimpinan, kualitas sumber daya manusia dan profesionalisme terhadap kinerja karyawan dalam model regresi sebesar  63,3% dan kinerja karyawan dapat dipengaruhi variabel bebas gaya kepemimpinan, kualitas sumber daya manusia dan profesionalisme, sisanya 36,7% kinerja karyawan dipengaruhi oleh variabel-variabel lain yang tidak dijelaskan dalam penelitian.

Abstract

Di Kota Banjarmasin terdapat situs-situs bersejarah peninggalan sejak zaman kerajaan Banjar hingga masa kemerdekaan. Namun untuk mengunjungi lokasi situs belum dapat dilakukan dengan mudah. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah belum adanya buku panduan yang dapat memandu para pengunjung untuk mengunjungi lokasi situs dengan lebih mudah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan belum tersedianya buku panduan yang berisi informasi tentang lokasi dan sejarah dari situs-situs yang terdapat di Kota Banjarmasin dengan memperhatikan aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik anggota BHC. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada 4 Juli 2022. Adapun yang menjadi peserta/khalayak sasaran adalah pengurus inti Borneo Historical Community (BHC) sebanyak 10 orang. Luaran dari solusi ini berupa dicetaknya Buku Saku Panduan Situs-situs Bersejarah di Kota Banjarmasin. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan diskusi. Pelatihan dilakukan untuk memberikan pilihan mengenai berbagai opsi struktur buku saku dan memberikan pengetahuan yang lebih mendalam tentang sejarah dari situs-situs tersebut.  Diskusi diperlukan untuk menjaring berbagai ide dan kreativitas mitra terkait desain buku saku yang paling sesuai dipergunakan bagi para pemandu dan warga masyarakat yang memerlukan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukan bahwa secara kognitif peserta telah mempunyai pengetahuan tentang lokasi dan sejarah situs dengan hasil sangat baik berdasarkan data hasil pre-test dan post-test. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, secara afektif peserta telah mengikuti kegiatan dengan baik, dan secara psikomotorik peserta telah mampu mendesain dan menerbitkan buku saku dengan baik. Kesimpulannya bahwa peserta telah mempunyai pengetahuan tentang situs dan mampu membuat desain buku panduan yang berisi informasi tentang situs bersejarah di Kota Banjarmasin. Dari kegiatan ini disarankan adanya evaluasi untuk mengetahui implementasi penggunaan buku saku di lapangan.In the city of Banjarmasin, there are historical sites and relics from the days of the Banjar kingdom until the independence period. However, visiting the site location can not be done easily. One of the reasons is that no guidebook can guide visitors to visit the site more easily. This community service activity aims to overcome the problem of the unavailability of a guidebook containing information about the location and history of the sites in Banjarmasin. This activity was held on July 4, 2022. The participants/target audiences were the core management of the Borneo Historical Community (BHC), as many as ten people. The output of this solution is printing the Handbook of Historical Sites in the City of Banjarmasin. The method used is training and discussion. The training was conducted to provide choices regarding various pocket book structure options and a deeper knowledge of the history of these sites. Discussions are needed to gather partners' ideas and creativity regarding designing the most suitable pocket book for guides and community members who need it. The results of community service activities, cognitively participants know the location and history of the site with very good results. Affectively, the participants followed the activities well. Psychomotorically, participants have been able to design and publish pocket books well. The conclusion is that the participants already know the site and can design a guidebook that contains information about historical sites in the City of Banjarmasin. From this activity, it is recommended that there be an evaluation to determine the implementation of pocket books in the field.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis kompensasi, motivasi, disiplin kerja dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan. Jumlah populasi adalah 51 orang, semua populasi dijadikan responden dalam penelitian dengan metode sampling jenuh. Penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menyebarkan kuisioner kepada karyawan PT. Alusteel Engineering Indonesia. Teknik analisi data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear berganda dan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan program SPSS 23. Disimpulkan bahwa hasil penelitian menunjukkan variabel kompensasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, motivasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, disiplin kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan dan lingkungan kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, sedangkan kompensasi, motivasi, disiplin kerja dan lingkungan kerja secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan .

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan terhadap produktivitas kerja karyawan, pengaruh kualitas produk terhadap produktivitas kerja karyawan, dan pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan dan kualitas produk terhadap produktivitas kerja karyawan spray painting PT. Rapala VMC Batam.Penelitian ini mengambil sample sebanyak 28 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang telah di uji validitas dan reabilitasnya.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif antara gaya kepemimpinan terhadap produktivitas kerja ditunjukan dengan hasil uji t. Dengan nilai t hitung 3.071t table 2.059 dan dengan nilai signifikan sama besar dengan 0.05. Tidak terdapat pengaruh kualitas produk terhadap produktivitas kerja karyawan.Dengan nilai t hitung 1.656 t tabel 2.059 dengan taraf signifikansi hitung sebesar 0.110 tersebut lebih besar dari 0.05.Terdapat pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan dan kualitas produk secara simultan terhadap produktivitas kerja karyawan, hak ini ditunjukkan dengan hasil uji F. Dengan nilai F hitung = 163.884 yang menggunakan batas signifikansi 0.05, maka diperoleh nilai signifikansi tersebut lebih kecil dari 0.05 yaitu 0.000. Kata kunci: Gaya Kepemimpinan, Kualitas Produk, dan Produktivitas Kerja Karyawan

Abstract

The Ministry of Education and Culture, through the Museum Sumpah Pemuda's implementing unit, has introduced virtual visitation services. Virtual visits, or virtual field trips, in history education serve as an alternative to real field trips. This research aims to describe the implementation of history education using virtual field trips to the Museum Sumpah Pemuda in SMA Negeri 7 Banjarmasin, specifically focusing on the topic of Sumpah Pemuda, conducted in the year 2021. The research utilized a descriptive qualitative research method, involving observation, interviews, and document analysis. The virtual field trip was designed as part of the history education curriculum, encompassing planning, implementation, and evaluation phases. The implementation of the learning process consisted of an opening phase, core activities, and a closing phase. The utilization of virtual field trips in history education at SMA Negeri 7 Banjarmasin is expected to be an efficient alternative that enhances students' learning experiences.

Abstract

Pamali is one of the rules in society that is socialized and taught by parents to children in the form of prohibitions accompanied by threats with the intention of making it a control over children's behavior. Every parent's advice certainly has a good intention, but often the prohibitions that are collected in the pamali category are difficult to understand and even there is no relevance between cause and effect if violated. However, this tradition is able to intervene and influence the logical thinking ability of adolescents in Banjar society. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects included some students of SMA Global Islamic Boarding School. The technique used in retrieval of information is purposive sampling, namely by taking research subjects who meet the following criteria: 1) students who are familiar with the term pamali, 2) students born in the Banjar community, 3) students who are included in the category of having a high and low logical mindset. The results showed that the pamali tradition as folklore has a vital role in influencing the logical thinking patterns of adolescents. This is shown by their fear which is more dominant than their belief in the pamali tradition. Teenagers who believe in the pamali tradition tend to have an excessive fear of the consequences that do contain a lot of bad luck in it. Adolescents who have low logical thinking skills tend to believe in the pamali tradition. Then when compared to teenagers who have good logical thinking skills, they tend to be better able to filter the impact of the pamali tradition.

Abstract

This research is motivated by concerns about the fading of Javanese cultural identity and nostalgia for their hometown, prompting them to strive to preserve their culture in a multicultural diaspora. The method used in this research is qualitative-descriptive. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research location is at the Pendopo Budaya Banjarbaru, which serves as the center for art and culture activities in Loktabat Utara Village, Banjarbaru North District, Banjarbaru City. The results show that the Kempalan Community of Jogja Family South Kalimantan (KEJOGJA Kal-Sel) successfully received a grant for a set of Yogyakarta gamelan from the DIY Palace as the main means of preserving karawitan art. The Bhinneka Tunggal Laras karawitan group, which is under the auspices of this association, is actively conducting rehearsals and performances, particularly involving the younger generation across ethnic groups. The values of Javanese culture such as guyub (harmony), grapyak semanah (friendliness), lembah manah (humility), unggah-ungguh (etiquette), ewuh pakewuh (mutual respect), srawung (gathering, interacting), and mutual cooperation are implemented in social interactions and ethics in these activities. It can be concluded from this study that the migrant community is able to preserve Javanese culture in a relevant and active way in a new environment. One way is by participating in cultural festivals and art exhibitions to preserve the culture while also introducing it to the wider community.

Abstract

Problem-solving ability is a higher-order thinking skill that plays an essential role in history learning. However, students often face difficulties due to limited active engagement in the learning process. This condition encourages the application of learning models that can enhance such abilities. This study aims to describe the effect of the problem posing learning model on students’ problem-solving skills in grade XI at SMA Negeri 11 Banjarmasin. The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of all grade XI students, with purposive sampling used to select two classes: XI-C as the experimental group (problem posing) and XI-A as the control group (expository). The research instrument was a multiple-choice test, previously validated and tested for reliability. Results of the Independent Sample t-Test showed that the pretest significance was 0.364 (>0.05), while the posttest result was <0.001 (<0.05), with a t-value of 12.236 exceeding the t-table value of ±1.993 (df = 72, α = 0.05). These findings reject H0 and accept Ha, indicating that problem posing is more effective than expository learning. Thus, the problem posing model has a positive effect on improving students’ problem-solving skills in history learning.
