Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi sampah makro (makro debris) antropogenik di kawasan ekosistem mangrove Desa Bolihutuo Kecamatan Botumoito. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Bulan Juli 2021. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan berdasarkan sebaran mangrove yang membentuk dua area, sehingga stasiun penelitian dibuat menjadi dua stasiun. Untuk penempatan transek garis ditentukan berdasarkan sebaran horizontal. Pada stasiun I dibuat dua garis transek dan stasiun II menjadi tiga garis transek, dimana jarak antar transek ditentukan berdasarkan sampah yang ditemukan pada mangrove di daerah darat sehingga menjadi titik awal penarikan garis transek dari darat kearah laut. Untuk pengambilan sampel menggunakan kuadran 10x10 m2 dengan jarak antar kuadran adalah 10 m. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa komposisi sampah makro di  kawasan ekosistem mangrove Desa Bolihutuo menghasilkan tiga kelompok besar jenis sampah, yakni plastik, busa plastik, serta kaca dan keramik. Dominasi sampah terbesar yakni sampah jenis plastik, sedangkan jumlah sampah yang terendah yaitu sampah kaca dan keramik. Kata Kunci: Sampah laut, Mangrove, Bolihutuo.ABSTRACKThis study aims to determine the composition of antrophogenic macro debris in the mangrove ecosystem area of Bolihutuo Village, Botumoito Subdistrict.  Sampling was carried out in July 2021. Sampling based on the distribution of mangrove that formed two areas so that the research station was made into two. The placement of line transects is determined based on the horizontal distribution. Stasion I is made up of two transect line and Station II is made up of three uniform transect lines. The distance between the transect is determined based on the waste found in the mangrove on land so that it becomes the starting point for drawing transect lines from land to sea. Sampling used a 10x10 m2 quadrant with a distance between the quadrants of 10 m. observations showed that the composition of macro debris in the mangrove ecosisytem area produced three large group of waste: plastic, plastic foam, glass and ceramics. The most dominant waste is plastic, while the least quantity is glass and ceramics.keywords: Marine debris, Mangrove, Bolihutuo.

Abstract

Abstract. Echinodermata is playing an important role in food chains in waters ecosystem; however, there was no report on the Echinodermata structure in the seagrass ecosystem of Taula’a village, Gorontalo district. Hence, the objective of the study was to  to determine the community structure of Echinoderms in the seagrass ecosystem of coastal area of Taula’a village, Bilato, Gorontalo regency. The research was conducted from January to April 2019. There were 3 observation stations chosen purposively. The sample of Echinoderms was observed at low tide using methods of quadrats and transects of 1×1 m. In addition, the water parameters were also measured i.e the temperature, the salinity, the pH, the water depth, the substrate and the water flow. Furthermore, diversity, dominanc and Evenness index were analyzed using software PAST 3.22. The results showed that there were 13 species of Echinoderms representing 4 classes, namely Ophiuroidea, Asteriodea, Echinodea dan Holothuroidea in which the highest total abundance was on 1st station and the lowest total abundance was on the 2nd station.  The index of diversity was in the medium category, the index of domination was in the low category, the index of evenness showed an equitable distribution and the index of uniformity was very high.Keywords : Echinoderms, community, seagrass, Past 3.22 Abstrak. Echinodermata memiliki peranan penting dalam rantai makanan pada ekosistem laut, namun demikian struktur komunitasnya di ekosistim lamun Desa Taula’a Kabupaten Gorontalo belum pernah dilaporkan. Oleh karena itu peneilitan ini bertujuan  untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas Echinodermata pada ekosistem lamun di wilayah pesisir Desa Taula’a, Bilato Kabupaten Gorontalo. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari hingga April 2019. Terdapat 3 stasiun pengamatan yang dipilih secara purposive. Pengamatan sampel Echinodermata dilakukan pada saat surut dengan menggunakan transek kuadran 1×1 m. Selain itu dilakukan juga pengukuran terhadap parameter air yaitu suhu, salinitas, pH, kedalaman, substrat dan arus. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman, indeks dominansi dan indeks kemerataan dianalisis menggunakan software PAST 3.22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 13 spesies Echinodermata ditemukan yang mewakili 4 kelas yaitu Ophiuroidea, Asteriodea, Echinodea dan Holothuroidea dimana kelimpahan total tertinggi pada stasiun I dan terendah pada stasiun II.  Indeks keanekaragaman kategori sedang, indeks dominasi rendah, indeks kemerataan menunjukkan penyebaran yang merata dan indeks keseragaman yang sangat tinggi. Kata kunci: Echinodermata, komunitas, Lamun, Past 3.22

Abstract

The concentration of three heavy metals Pb, Cd and Hg ware measured in Bone River, Gorontalo sediment. The heavy metal pollution on sediment in Bone River have not been explored longitudinally. The samples were taken in July 2021 at 8 stations.  The trend of metals ware observed in sediment as PbCdHg. The level of studied metals Cd and Hg did not exceed the safe limit by ANZECC, OSQG LEL and CCME TEL meanwhile Pb was met the limit by by ANZECC. However, the investigated showed that fluctuations due to differences in the characteristics of each location. Contamination factor (CF) and geoaccumulation index (Igeo) demonstrated that the sediment samples were low contamination and lightly polluted. Contamination by heavy metals in the Bone River implies that the conditions are much frightening for the biota and residents around the river.

Abstract

Good water quality is extremely important to support life of organisms. The determination of water quality status was needed as reference to monitor water pollution in aquatic system. This study aimed to assess the status of water quality in the Gorontalo Bay. There ware five sampling sites which represented the coastal condition and ecological characteristic. Sampling was carried out in May-July 2017. Sampling procedure of water samples carried out based on APHA standard method. Existing water quality data was analyzed by using STORET method. The result showed that Gorontalo bay obtained total score -39. It means the status of water quality the Gorontalo bay during sampling period in bad category. Kondisi kualitas air suatu perairan yang baik sangat penting untuk mendukung kelulushidupan organisme yang hidup di dalamnya. Penentuan status mutu air perlu dilakukan sebagai acuan dalam melakukan pemantauan pencemaran kualitas air suatu sistem akuatik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji status mutu air di perairan Teluk Gorontalo. Terdapat 5 stasiun pengamatan yang dipilih berdasarkan kondisi pantai dan karakteristik ekologi Teluk Gorontalo. Pengambilan sampel parameter kualitas air dilakukan di sepanjang perairan Teluk Gorontalo pada bulan Mei-Juli 2017. Prosedur pengambilan sampel berdasarkan metode baku APHA. Data kualitas air yang ada kemudian akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan Metode STORET. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Teluk Gorontalo memperoleh total skor -39. Hal ini menunjukkan status mutu Teluk Gorontalo di bulan Mei-Juli tergolong dalam kategori buruk.
