Abstract

In many coastal waters, including in the Kwandang Bay, often there are threeinterrelated ecosystems, they are mangroves, seagrass beds and coral reefs ecosystems.This study aims to determine the existence of mangrove ecosystems in the KwandangBay waters, and to determine the condition of the ecosystem based on the communitystructure. This research was conducted in the waters in the Kwandang Gulf of NorthGorontalo District for three months. The method used in this research was a surveymethod, and purposive sampling was conducted to collect the data. Six samplingstations with 20x20 m2 transect areas were determined to collect the mangroveecosystem data. Mangrove species found were Shoneratia alba, Brugeiragymnorrhiza, Xylocarpus sp,, Cariops tagal, Rhizophora sp, and Avicenia sp. Themangrove ecosystem has low diversity level, evenly distributed species, and there is nodominant species.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of different kinds of bait on the catch of mangrove crab (Scylla serrata) in Kwandang District, North Gorontalo Regency. This research was conducted in September 2015 - August 2016. The research method of exferimental fishing was carried out with 3 treatments, namely selar fish bait, chicken head bait and golden snail bait. Experimental data were analyzed by randomized block design (RBD) and Duncan's test. The results showed that different types of bait affect the catch. Chicken head bait is the best bait that gives more catches than the other baits. Duncan's multiple range test results showed that the treatment of chicken head bait was significantly different from the treatment of goldfish and golden snails. Furthermore, the treatment of selar fish bait was significantly different from the treatment of golden snail bait. Keywords: bait; mangrove crab; Scylla serrata; catch.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the village of Limbatihu which runs from January to March 2015 with the aim of this study was to determine the success of the program of rehabilitation of mangrove ecosystems in the District Limbatihu village district was Paguyaman Pantai.The method used is a survey method, interviews, and collecting secondary and primary data to support research conducted by the researchers.The data analysis used descriptive analysis to look at the program of rehabilitation of mangrove ecosystems.The results of this study address that the program of rehabilitation of mangrove ecosystems in the village Limbatihu known to succeed because with the support of local communities and government local village, the successful rehabilitation of the mangrove ecosystem can be seen the value of the participation of the government and local communities to support the implementation of rehabilitation activities carried out by Japesda. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kepadatan dan pola sebaran Echinoidea di Desa Lamu Kecamatan Batudaa pantai Kabupaten Gorontalo. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Agustus 2016 sampai dengan Februari 2017. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Pengamatan di setiap Stasiun hanya dilakukan satu kali pengamatan pada setiap Stasiun dengan menggunakan transek berukuran 25x4 meter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa didapatkan 5 jenis Echinoidea yaitu Diadema setosum, Echinothrix diadema, Echinometra mathaei, Echinothrix calamaris dan Tripneustes gratilla dengan nilai kepadatan berkisar pada 0,02-0,35 ind/m² dan nilai hasil perhitungan pola sebaran diperoleh nilai Indeks Dispersi Morisita di atas nilai 1 yang artinya pola sebaran jenis Echinoidea di Desa Lamu bersifat mengelompok. This study aims to determine the density and distribution patterns of Echinoidea in Lamu Village, Batudaa Subdistrict, Gorontalo District. This research was conducted in August 2016 until February 2017. The method used in this study is using purposive sampling method. Observations at each station were only made one observation at each station using a 25x4 meter transect. The results showed that there were 5 types of Echinoidea namely Diadema setosum, Echinothrix diadema, Echinometra mathaei, Echinothrix calamaris and Tripneustes gratilla with density values ranging from 0.02-0.35 ind / m² and the results of the distribution pattern obtained were Morisita Dispersion Index values at of value 1 which means that the distribution pattern of Echinoidea in Lamu Village is clustered. Abstract

Penelitaian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh perlakuan konsentrasi belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi. L) dan lama penyimpanan ikan teri (Stolephorus heterolobus) asin kering dari aspek mikrobiologi (total bakteri / TPC.). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekperimental laboratories. Rancangan percobaanya memakai rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) Faktorial. Perlakuan pertama (C ) adalah konsentrasi belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi. L) (tiga taraf: C1= 100 mg/ ml , C2 = 200 mg/ ml dan C3 = 300 mg/ ml ) sedangakan perlakuan kedua (T) adalah lama penyimpanan (Tiga Taraf: T1= 0 hari , T2 = 15 hari dan T3 = 30 hari ). Abstract

This study aims to examine the sustainability status of the julung-julung fish catch fisheries in Boalemo District based on the five aspects of ecology, economic, social, technological and ethical dimensions, and provide recommendations for strategies to support sustainability. This research was conducted in Boalemo District from March to August 2016. The method used in this research is survey method. As for the sustainability status analysis using Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries (RAPFISH), and for preparing strategy priorities using SWOT analysis (Strenght, Weaknesess, Opportunities, and Threath). The results showed that the status of sustainable fisheries cultivation of julung-julung dimension of ecology 80,63 (continuous), economics 35,80 (less sustainable), social 73,85 (sustainable enough), technology 55,51 (sustainable enough), and ethics 52.56 (fairly sustainable). When viewed in a multidimensional manner, the fishing activities of the julung-julung fish catch in Boalemo Regency are in sustainable condition with the value of IKP (Fishery Sustainability Index) 59.67. Strategies that need to be done in the management of capture fisheries are 1) Arrangement of fishing effort of the julung-julung, 2) Arrangement of catching season, 3) Protection of place to lay eggs, 4) Determination of fishing zone, 5) Related to capital, utilization of technology, and management assistance, 6) socialization of environmentally friendly fishing, 7) Improving fisherman's access to education, 8) integrated fishery management, 9) increasing fishermen's role in formulation of fishery policy, 10) And 11) Establish a group of independent fishery resource supervisor (POKWASMAN). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran perempuan pesisir dalam menunjang aktivitas perikanan dan keterlibatan istri nelayan dalam membantu perekonomian keluarga di Desa Torosiaje Laut Kecamatan Popayato Kabupaten Pohuwato. Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan dari bulan April - Mei 2014. Jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian deskriptif, dengan menggunakan analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pendidikan masih tergolong rendah sehingga mempengaruhi pola pikir khususnya dalam mengambil keputusan pengelolaan ekonomi keluarga. Kegiatan para istri nelayan di bidang perikanan yakni menjual hasil tangkapan dari suaminya, mengolah ikan asin, membuat dan memperbaiki pukat di waktu luang. Sedangkan kegiatan peran pesisir di luar bidang perikanan yakni membuka warung makan, menjadi pedagang sambilan, buruh cuci kain, pembuat kue, menjual kue, serta menjual kayu bakar. Faktor pendukung peningkatan peran perempuan adalah kemampuan kerjanya tinggi, dorongan keluarga cukup kuat, dan lokasi kegiatan merupakan obyek wisata potensial yang membutuhkan aktivitas perempuan dalam perdagangan. Kendala yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya akses perempuan terhadap sumber daya modal, transportasi dan informasi. Kata kunci: peran perempuan, istri nelayan, Desa Torosiaje Laut

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur vegetasi mangrove di Desa Ponelo, Kecamatan Ponelo Kepulaun, Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara, yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober-Desember 2013. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei, dengan menggunakan metode kombinasi antara metode jalur dan metode garis berpetak dengan panjang 300 meter sejajar garis pantai, dengan jarak garis pantai ke arah jalur 20 meter yang terdiri dari tiga stasiun. Penentuan stasiun berdasarkan aspek keterwakilan mangrove dilihat dari posisi Desa Ponelo. Tiap stasiun terdiri dari 1 jalur dan 3 petak dan data yang diambil adalah jenis-jenis mangrove yang dibedakan antara pohon, pancang, dan semai serta parameter lingkungan berupa suhu, salinitas, pH, dan pengamatan substrat. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis vegetasi (kerapatan jenis, kerapatan relatif, frekuensi jenis, frekuensi relatif, dominansi jenis, dominansi relatif, dan indeks nilai penting). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa ditemukan 4 jenis mangrove pada lokasi pengamatan yaitu Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Sonneratia alba, dan Bruguiera gymnorrhiza. Jenis Rhizophora mucronata ditemukan pada semua stasiun pengamatan. Jenis Rhizophora mucronata memiliki nilai INP tertinggi di stasiun I pada semua kategori, baik pada kategori pohon, pancang, dan semai, masing-masing 300%, dan 200%. Tingginya INP dikarenakan stasiun I hanya terdapat jenis Rhizophora mucronata, Untuk stasiun II dan III jenis Rhizophora apiculata yang memiliki nilai INP tertinggi. Hasil pengukuran parameter lingkungan pada setiap stasiun menunjukan nilia yang sesuai untuk pertumbuhan mangrove. Kata kunci: mangrove, struktur vegetasi, Desa Ponelo

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas hasil tangkapan bubu menggunakan umpan berbeda pada spesies tangkapan baronang, di Desa Bajo Kecamata Tilamuta Kabupaten Boalemo. Penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2014 sampai Agustus 2016. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode experimental fishing dengan tiga perlakuan jenis umpan: pepaya, ikan ruca dan sisa makanan. Setiap perlakuan diulangi sebanyak 9 kali ulangan yaitu masing-masing jenis umpan ditempatkan dalam 3 buah bubu berbeda sebanyak 3 kali trip. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan jenis umpan yang berbeda berpengaruh terhadap jumlah hasil tangkapan ikan baronang yang ditangkap dengan alat tangkap bubu dan semua jenis umpan efektif untuk menangkap ikan baronang. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of bubu fishing gear using different baits on the Baronang catch species, in Bajo Village, Tilamuta District, Boalemo Regency. This research was conducted in September 2014 until August 2016. The method used in this study is an experimental fishing method with three types of bait treatment: papaya, trash fish and food scraps. Each treatment was repeated 9 times in which each type of bait was placed in 3 different traps and operated in 3 trips. The results showed that the use of different types of bait affect the number of catches of baronang fish caught with bubu fishing gear and all the type of baits are effective for catching baronang fish. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui status kandungan logam berat timbal (Pb) di perairan sekitar pelabuhan Kota Gorontalo. Parameter yang di amati adalah parameter fisika-kimia perairan dan konsentrasi kandungan timbal yang dianalisis dengan menggunakan atomic absorphbtion spectrophotometer (AAS). Analisis yang dipakai adalah analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa konsentrasi timbal pada lapisan permukaan air berada pada kisaran 0,0054-0,00294 mg/l dan konsentrasi timbal pada lapisan dasar air berada pada kisaran 0,0028-0,0259 mg/l. Berdasarkan KEPMENLH No. 51 Tahun 2004 konsentrasi timbal belum mencemari perairan sekitar pelabuhan Kota Gorontalo. Kata kunci: logam berat, timbal, Pb, Gorontalo
