Abstract

The research test was carried out at the Biology Laboratory FKIP UISU. The study design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatment tests and five replications, as a comparison of each treatment test used control.This study aims to determine the content of pesticides in Brassica chinensis in Medan city markets, whether pesticides are contaminated or not, and to determine student learning outcomes in biochemical subjects in additives and contaminants in food.In this study, the mortality of C. binotalis larvae was observed in each treatment test, starting from observations on Brassica chinensis leaf samples taken from control, then on Brassica chinensis leaf samples taken from Sambas market, Simpang Limun market, Halat market, and market Like Crowded. Observations were made at 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours after application. The area of leaf damage was observed after 72 hours of application in each treatment test. Likewise, larval weight gain was calculated after 72 hours of application.After 72 hours of treatment test, the highest larval mortality occurred in Brassica chinensis samples taken from the crowded market at 6.22%, with the lowest larval weight gain of 570 mg, and with the least area of leaf damage that was 1,169 mm2. While the lowest larval mortality after 72 hours of treatment test occurred in Brassica chinensis samples taken from the control at 0.89%, with the highest larval weight gain of 588.8 mg, and with the most extensive leaf damage area of 5,486.3 mm2.Before conducting biochemical learning on material additives and contaminants in food to students, a pre-test was made to students, and the average value of student learning outcomes during the pre-test was 60.26 with a standard deviation of 10.09. Whereas after the learning material has been submitted and conducted a post test the average value of student learning outcomes has increased by 74.85 with a standard deviation of 6.25.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) recognize fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster), 2) morphologically distinguish adult fruit fly sex, 3) study the growth of fruit fly populations. The practicum was held on August 20, 2019 in the Biology Education Laboratory FKIP UISU. The working principle of practicum is making food as a medium for fruit fly culture (a mixture of bananas, cassava tape, benzoate), etherization and observation, observing the growth of fruit fly populations. Observations were made by counting the number of live flies and dead flies, the sex ratio of flies. Observations were carried out every day, for 15 days (20 August 2019 - 3 September 2019). The results of the analysis show that: 1) population growth of Drosophila melanogaster includes logistic growth models with S-shaped curves, 2) sex of adult fruit flies can be morphologically distinguished through body size, abdominal shape, genital comb and external genital organs in the abdomen. Based on the results and discussion, the following conclusions are obtained: 1) fruit flies including insects undergoing perfect metamorphosis (egg phase, larvae, pupa, imago), 2) differences in adult fruit fly sex can be seen from body size, abdomen shape, presence of genital comb, external genital organs in the abdomen, 3) population growth of fruit flies including logistic growth models in the form of S curves, influenced by environmental factors

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik biologi dan ekologi Chelonia mydas di Pulau Berhala untuk pembuatan media pembelajaran bio marine yang berupa video pembelajaran. Sampel penelitian ini adalah famili Chelonidae ditemukan di Pulau Berhala.Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui observasi langsung. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan Metode Deskriptif Eksploratif. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di Pulau Berhala menunjukkan bahwa data dari spesies famili Chelonidae yang ditemukan hanya spesies Chelonia mydas. Indentifikasi dari spesies Chelonia mydas yang ditemukan dengan cara mengamati karakteristik biologi dan ekologi dan mendeskripsikan secara akurat. Pembuatan media pembelajaran Bio Marine yang berupa Video Pembelajaran merupakan bagian integral dari proses pembelajaran. Dengan penggunan Video Pembelajaran sangat berperan aktif dalam pembelajaran secara media

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengamati jenis jenis tumbuhan dari familia Zingiberaceae yang mulai banyak dibudidayakan di Taman Buah Lubuk Pakam, Kecamatan Lubuk Pakam, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Provinsi Sumatera Utara serta untuk mengamati variasi karakter antara spesies tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif yakni dengan membandingkan karakter morfologi antara spesies dari familia Zingibercaeae yang dikoleksi dengan menggunakan metode jelajah. Hasil dari penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan buku modul bahan ajar yang berisikan tentang spesies Famili Zingiberaceae di Kawasan Taman Buah Lubuk Pakam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ekploratif. Pengumpulan data dimuali dari bulan juni hingga Agustus 2024 di Kawasan Taman Buah Lubuk Pakam. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan deksriftif eksploratif. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa terdapat Tujuh spesies yang tergolong  ke dalam familia Zingibercaeae yang ditemukan di Taman Buah Lubuk Pakam yaitu Zingiber monatum, Alpinia galanga, Curcuma zedoaria, Curcuma longa L, Curcuma Amada R Kaempferia galanga L, dan Amonum compactum.  Ketujuh spesies tersebut memiliki beberapa persamaan  dan perbedaan karakter morfologi. Persaamaan karakter antara lain dari sistem perakaran, bentuk akar, bentuk batang semu, arah tumbuh, tepi daun, serta bentuk daun. Sedangkan perbedaan karakter dapat dilihat dari permukaan batang semu, ujung daun, pangkal daun, permukaan daun, serta bentuk dan warna rimpang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kegiatan metode field trip terhadap tingkat kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi FKIP UISU di The Le Hu Garden. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai Mei s/d Agustus 2024 di The Le Hu Garden. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan populasi dan sampel penelitian  yang sama atau sampel jenuh adalah seluruh Mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi FKIP UISU aktif T.A 2023/2024  berjumlah 32 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan design One Group Pretest Posttest Design.  Instrumen dalam peneltian ini adalah pretest, posttest, lembar observasi, dan juga lembar angket. Nilai rata – rata pretest sebelum diterapkan metode field trip adalah 25,96 dengan standard deviasi 10,48 sedangkan nilai rata – rata setelah diterapkan metode field trip adalah 73,96 dan standard deviasi 10,56. Hasil uji normalitas diperoleh    yaitu 0,142 0,156 dinyatakan bahwa data berdistribusi normal sedangkan hasil uji homogenitas    yaitu 1,015 1,56 dinyatakan bahwa data memiliki varians yang sama atau homogen. Hasil uji N-Gain dengan gain score 0,64, hal ini menunjukkan tingkat kemampuan literasi sains Mahasiswa dengan kategori sedang. Hasil uji Hipotesis dimana     atau 24,3 1,69 dengan taraf 0,05 maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan metode field trip terhadap tingkat kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi FKIP UISU

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan modul Taksonomi Tumbuhan Tinggi di kawasan Taman Buah Lubuk Pakam yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian pengembangan yang digunakan adalah menggunakan model 4D Thiagarajan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada tahap define dihasilkan pemetaan terhadap capaian pembelajaran dan tujuan pembelajaran matakuliah Taksonomi Tumbuhan Tinggi pada materi eksplorasi dan karakterisasi famili myrtaceae di Taman Buah Lubuk Pakam. Tahap Design menunjukkan format modul yang akan dikembangkan. Tahap develope menunjukkan hasil validasi oleh validator menyatakan modul Taksonomi Tumbuhan Tinggi melalui eksplorasi dan karakterisasi famili myrtaceae di Taman Buah Lubuk Pakam dinyatakan valid dan hasil angket respons mahasiswa terhadap modul positif. Modul Taksonomi Tumbuhan Tinggi melalui eksplorasi dan karakterisasi famili myrtaceae di Taman Buah Lubuk Pakam yang dihasilkan sudah memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis

Abstract

Kegiatan inventarisasi yang dilaksanakan di kawasan Lapangan Merdeka Pematangsiantar bertujuan untuk memperoleh data tentang jumlah jenis tumbuhan Class Spermatophyta berhabitus pohon lalu dilanjutkan dengan mendeskripsikannya. Kegiatan inventarisasi merupakan salah satu kegiatan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan alam sebagai sumber belajar. Lingkungan alam sebagai sumber belajar dapat berfungsi dalam pengembangan laboratorium alam. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif eksploratif dan teknik accidental sampling. Hasil inventarisasi diperoleh 25 spesies dengan 16 famili meliputi Famili Fabaceae (Adenanthera pavonia, Pterocarpus indicus, Cassia fistula, Delonix regia, Tamarindus indica), Famili Altingiaceae (Altingia excelsa), Famili Moraceae (Artocarpus heterophyylus, Ficus virens), Famili Podocarpaceae (Dacrydium elatum, Dacridium imbricatum), Famili Sapindaceae dengan spesies Filicium decipiens, Nephelium lappaceum, Famili Clusiaceae dengan (Garcinia atroviridis, Garcinia mangostana), Famili Lamiaceae (Gmelina arborea), Famili Gnetaceae (Gnetum gnemon), Famili Meliaceae (Khaya senegalis, Sweetenia macrophylla), Famili Anacardiaceae (Mangifera indica), Famili Annonaceae (Polyalthia longifolia), Famili Bignoniaceae (Tabebuia aurea), Famili Verbenaceae (Tectona grandis), Famili Comberataceae (Terminalia catappa, Terminalia mantaly).

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk pengadaan Laboratorium Alam melalui pemanfaatan lingkungan sekitar sekolah sebagai sumber belajar melalui penchadraan vegetasi (tumbuhan). Dalam kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan bimbingan kepada para siswa di MAN 2 Deli Serdang Lubuk Pakam untuk penggunaan aplikasi QR Code dalam mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis tumbuhan melalui penchandraan vegetasi di lingkungan sekolah tersebut. Hal ini dapat menjadi daya tarik bagi para siswa dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pemahamam pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) sehubungan dengan Kurikulum Merdeka. Lingkungan sekolah MAN 2 Lubuk Pakam, yang ditumbuhi berbagai spesies tumbuhan akan menjadi sumber belajar (learning)resources, sehingga dapat berfungsi menjadi laboratorium alam. Dari hasil penchandraan yang dilakukan diperoleh 99 (sembilan puluh sembilan) species dengan 45 (empat puluh lima) famili tumbuhan. Semua spesies tumbuhan tersebut dilengkapi dengan QR Code
