Abstract

Errors in recruiting prospective employees can have an impact on company performance, prospective employees who are recruited need to prove their abilities and expertise. The purpose of this research is to design an integrated and easily accessible web-based prospective employee training information system that can help improve the skills of prospective employees who will be recruited. The research method used is the Rational Unified Process (RUP) with the stages of Inception, Elaboration, Construction, and Transition with system modeling using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), namely UseCase Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, and Class Diagrams. This research resulted in a system design and Web-Based Candidate Training Information System with available features including information on training data, training registration data, training materials, assignment assessments, and training management. This research was conducted at one of the service companies in information technology in Garut Regency, namely CV. Asgardian Techno Service. Using an information system for prospective employee training is made into a solution for companies to improve the quality of employees through training that can be accessed by both participants, mentors and decision makers.

Abstract

RTIKAbdimas is one of the annual routine ICT Volunteer programs in Indonesia. ICT volunteers use the website for information delivery, communication, and registration. Previous research has uncovered implementing and developing web platforms that support similar or benefit such programs, including information services, communications, registration, and online monitoring. Existing research still needs to provide a complete solution to the problem of printed files and manual methods in the RTIKAbdimas business process. This study aims to develop a web-based RTIKAbdimas application using the Rapid Unified Process approach by adopting and complementing existing research results for different problems. This research has succeeded in meeting the system specifications of the RTIKAbdimas business process and includes several online services on web applications developed by previous research. All actors have a dashboard to enter data and access information on data processing results. The most crucial benefit of this research is the control and time efficiency of the activities of actors other than program managers.

Abstract

In the current era of information technology, digital signatures are used as a mathematical method to identify a person or document electronically. This digital signature provides proof that the document was sent by an identified sender, and ensures the authenticity and validity of the information. The application of digital signatures, including in tertiary institutions such as the Faculty of Economics, University of Garut, can increase efficiency and change the way administrative services are carried out. Document authenticity can be verified online through a verification system that validates information. Thus, the use of digital signatures is expected to ensure document authenticity while increasing work effectiveness. This research uses the Scrum methodology, one of the Agile methodologies in product development. Scrum consists of sprint milestones that are done in no more than a month without breaks and are time-boxed. This methodology ensures an understanding of time limits and work cycles. The research stages consist of A1 Initiate, A2 Planning and Estimating, A3 Implementing, A4 Retrospect and Reviewing, and A5 Releasing. These stages are well organized to arrive at findings that are supported by scientific analysis on a regular basis. Activities in these stages include defining the project vision, building the Scrum team, user stories, sprint backlog, evaluating the sprint backlog, weekly meetings, updating the sprint backlog, reviewing and validating previous sprints, technical documentation, and application system submission. The survey results show that the Scrum methodology ranks third in the survey results with 20.3% of respondents using the Scrum methodology in the software development process.

Abstract

Lung diseases are among the leading causes of death worldwide and require early, accurate diagnosis to minimize the risk of complications. In the digital era, developing artificial intelligence–based classification models has become a potential solution to support the diagnostic process, particularly for categorical data that represent symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, and smoking history. This study proposes a lung disease classification model using the K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) algorithm with a simple categorical distance approach, namely the Hamming distance. The dataset used is imbalanced; therefore, data balancing was performed using the random oversampling method. Model evaluation was carried out using two schemes—data splitting and 10-fold cross-validation—by testing multiple values of parameter k. The best results were obtained at k = 7 with an accuracy of 94.58%, precision of 95.25%, recall of 94.39%, and an F1-score of 94.53%. These findings demonstrate that the combination of the K-NN algorithm, Hamming distance, and oversampling can produce high and stable classification performance for categorical datasets in lung disease prediction.

Abstract

This study aims to redesign the User Interface and User Experience on the Suara Garut website using the Design Thinking approach. The background of this study is the challenges faced by the existing website, such as unattractive visual design, confusing navigation, and suboptimal information structure, which impact user comfort. The design process was carried out through five systematic stages, namely Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Data collection was conducted through interviews with the management and distribution of questionnaires to 50 users to identify their needs. The design solution was realized in the form of an interactive high-fidelity prototype using Figma. The evaluation was conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS), involving 15 respondents. The test results showed an average score of 83.4, which falls into the “Excellent” category with an “Acceptable” level of acceptance, indicating that the interface design was very well received. This study successfully produced a design that addresses the real needs of Suara Garut website users.

Abstract

The trend of self-directed learning continues to rise, yet students still face challenges such as limited time, difficulty structuring learning materials, and a lack of systematic learning pathways. This study aims to design and develop a web-based AI Course Generator application by integrating the Gemini API to generate automated learning materials, the YouTube API to recommend educational videos, and an interactive chatbot to provide personalized learning assistance.The development method uses the Rational Unified Process (RUP), consisting of four phases: inception, elaboration, construction, and transition, supported by Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling. The implementation results show that the application can automatically generate course outlines and learning materials, recommend learning videos, and assist users through the chatbot.Testing was performed using black box testing and usability testing with the USE Questionnaire, yielding a user satisfaction score of 82.09% (strongly agree category). This study demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating the Gemini API and YouTube API in building an adaptive and efficient self-learning application that supports the Merdeka Belajar concept.

Abstract

Garut Regency faces problems with road damage, which affects community mobility and increases the risk of accidents. The reporting process has so far been conducted manually or via social media, making it difficult to track, poorly documented, and slow to follow up. This study aims to design and develop a web-based damaged road reporting system that can be accessed by the public and managed by the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (Dinas PUPR) of Garut Regency. The method employed is Extreme Programming (XP) with the stages of Planning, Design, Coding, and Testing. The developed system provides features such as registration, login, report creation with photos, descriptions, damage levels, and automatic GPS-based location. Each report is verified by sub-district officers before being forwarded to the Dinas PUPR. The system also includes an interactive map powered by Leaflet.js, a commenting feature, and a WhatsApp icon for direct communication with reporters. System testing was conducted using Blackbox Testing with a State Transition Testing approach and the System Usability Scale (SUS) for user acceptance testing. The results show that all functions operate as designed, with an average SUS score of 85.8 (Grade A+, Best Imaginable). This study concludes that the developed web-based damaged road reporting system can improve the efficiency and transparency of the reporting process, accelerate follow-ups, and increase public participation. For the government, the system provides more accurate and well-documented report data, which can serve as a reference for prioritizing road repairs in Garut Regency.
