Abstract

Retailers are the lowest level traders in the marketing distribution channel . They are identified as agents who act as ‘product delivery people’, without making product modifications . Their main activity is taking merchandise from distributors, sold directly in small packages. Shallot retailers also experience the same stigma, even though their products characteristics require special handling to prevent rotting before being sold. So far, the technology need for shallot products is considered only by farmers and large distributors. A preliminary market research has been conducted on a limited basis to see the need for shallot processing technology at the retail trader level. The research method used a G-Form-based questionnaire distributed to the shallot trader community, or filled out by surveyors during direct interviews. The research results showed that 4% of respondents stated that they needed appropriate technology, in form of drying machine, with 5 kg/hour maximum capacity, electric drive, and maximum price of around 5 million rupiah. The respondents majority  (95%) seemed to state that they did not have procurement funds. It is predicted that 80-96% of respondents need the drying machine. This shows that there is a market opportunity for the technology, small scale, for shallot retailers in particular.

Abstract

Kali Kendedes in Singosari District, Malang Regency is a stream of water originating from a local source. This river is used as a children's playground. The observation results show that there is a potential for danger during activities, especially when children are swimming or playing in water. The writing of this article is aims to develop a safety concept for children playing in the Kendedes river. The technical application designed is a ladder up and down like a ladder in a swimming pool and hangers for visitors' things.

Abstract

The need for electricity is very important in the current era. However, there are still areas in Indonesia that have not received electricity, and there are also areas that have received electricity but experience rolling blackouts for several days a week. To overcome this, an alternative power plant is needed, namely a mini micro hydro power plant. The turbine in this power plant is able to function with water discharge below 10 meters, but can produce electrical power above 600 W to meet the electricity needs of each house adjacent to the water source. Given the natural resources (water sources) that are still abundant, it is unfortunate if they cannot be utilized properly. Another interesting factor of this mini-microhydro power plant is that the technology is relatively simple, and easily applied to areas that have mountainous topography and many rivers. In the process of making turbines, simulation steps are needed in the experiment so that it does not require a lot of money in the experiment, but produces a design that has high efficiency. From the analysis of the design simulation results, it can be concluded that the mini micro hydro crossflow turbine with 29 blades at a rotational speed of 700 rpm has the largest power and torque, namely 15.6 KW power and 210 N/m torque..

Abstract

The condition of the HD785-7 unit which is more than 30,000 hourmeters old and the working environment is difficult, and there has never been any checking and maintenance on the exhaust gas temperature, this causes the exhaust gas temperature sensor and electrical system to be neglected which results in inaccurate reading of the exhaust gas temperature value in the VHMS (Vehicle Health Monitoring System) which makes the achievement of IA (Intelligence Availability) worsen for the HD785-7 unit at PT Pamapersada Nusantara on the KPCS site. After making observations through the data, an implementation of the exhaust gas temperature value improvement program was carried out by placing the exhaust gas temperature sensor properly, routable the VHMS (Vehicle Health Monitoring System) wiring harness, and repairing the exhaust gas temperature system wiring with the target of reducing the number of error and abnormal readings on the exhaust gas temperature value in the VHMS (Vehicle Health Monitoring System), so that the achievement of IA (Intelligence Availability) is in accordance with the target of the KPCS site of PT Pamapersada Nusantara, which is 75%. After the exhaust gas temperature value improvement program was carried out and monitoring of the IA (Intelligence Availability) data was carried out, the error reading and abnormal values of the exhaust gas temperature decreased to 56.75%, the result was that the IA (Intelligence Availability) achievement increased to 83.85% and reached the IA (Intelligence Availability) achievement target from PT Pamapersada Nusantara, which was 75%.

Abstract

The rapid growth has an impact on consumer demand for quality products, high quality and safe for consumption. In the production of cup packaged beverages after a series of product manufacturing processes are completed until they are released to the next process, bad seal leaking products are still found (poor sealing). Bad seal leaks are caused by a poor sealing process so that the product is not evenly sealed and results in packaging leakage considering that it can damage the quality and quality of the product. This research uses a real experimental method (True Experimental Research) using tensile testing with a Tensile Strenght Test tool. After conducting experiments on the appropriate settings to reduce the occurrence of bad seals in the filling machine sealing process, a parameter of 7 bar is set for each heater block, at the baket rotation speed setting after analyzing the parameter data carried out by the filling operator and QC line and conducting experiments, the appropriate parameter setting is obtained to reduce the occurrence of bad seal products, namely speed 5 (20 rpm) with a sealing process of 0.16 seconds, with the temperature that has been analyzed, a temperature of 200 ℃ is obtained as the appropriate standard temperature.

Abstract

The amount of electrical energy needed each year is increasing, while the source of electrical energy is decreasing each year. So that alternative resources are needed, namely renewable energy, to help meet the current need for electrical energy. One of the renewable energies that is currently widely used is the water turbine. In this study, the air turbine will be studied with the aim of determining the efficiency and power of the turbine with variations in the number of blades (10, 14 and 18), variations in the blade angle of 10⁰, 15⁰, 20⁰, 25⁰, 30⁰, 35⁰, 40⁰, 45⁰, and using various types of axial turbines. The study produced the highest efficiency value of 99.94% in the Francis type turbine with 10 blades and an angle of 20⁰. And the highest power value of 63.77 Watts is found in the Kaplan turbine with 18 blades and an angle of 10⁰.

Abstract

The problem of poverty in fishing communities has become a cultural cycle. The issue has become a long causal chain of various aspects that is difficult to unravel over the years. The number of fishers is decreasing while the potential of marine resources has not been fully explored. It happens because poverty alleviation for fishing communities is only around 1% per year. The poverty alleviation program is closely related to the empowerment of fishing communities in running their businesses. So far, the fishing community's business problems have focused on weather/climate, infrastructure, technology (very little touched/used), and capital. However, not all fishing communities are not prosperous. There are different levels of exploration of marine potential in other areas. The Muncar fishing community is included in the successful category with Indonesia's second-largest business scale. The Muncar fisherman's business system, although applying the general Juragan-Worker method, has a traditional fishing method called Slerek, a boat system in pairs, one for fishing, the other providing accommodation. The Slerek system promises optimal catch. The catch-sharing system is 50:50 for the skipper and his group of workers. The Muncar fishing community business system can be adopted into an empowering marine worker business system after several modifications and adjustments have been made regarding the remaining problems.
