Abstract

Sheet pile, located on the bank of Musi River in Palembang, is the city master plan in the development of Palembang City. The construction of the sheet piles in Musi River was built from 2006 to 2014 but until now there is no further management on the working sheet piles. The aims of this study were to identify the management status of Musi sheet piles and to analyze the damage level that occured in Musi sheet piles in Palembang. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be obtained that the management status of the sheet pile was the authority of BBWS Sumatera VIII as the constructor and the owner of sheet pile assets, and it is planned that there will be a Musi sheet pile management program in 2019. Sheet piles were in a good condition on the components of pile cap structure, sheet pile, and platform in 16 Ilir, 9-10 Ulu, 14 Ulu, and the structure component of the sheet pile in 16 Ilir and 10 Ulu which had percentage of damage less than 10%. A good condition was also seen on the structure components of the fence support that had percentage of damage about 0,28% for ths sheet pile in 9-10 Ulu and 1,45% for the sheet pile in 14 Ulu. Sheet piles, in mildly damaged conditions, occured in sheet pile structural components of 10.38% in 11-14 Ulu. Sheet pile components in good condition and moderate damaged condition repairs can be done with preventive maintenance or minor repairs. Meanwhile, the sheet piles in a condition of heavily damaged occurred in the supporting structure of the fence by 41.82% at 16 Ilir improvements are made with corrective maintenance.

Abstract

Worker productivity is an important part of the successful development of human resources and infrastructure building. One of the ways to improve workers’ productivity is using training and worker certification. Therefore, there is a need to analyze the effects of training and certification on worker productivity with case study lightweight brick and steel rods workers in some projects in Palembang. This study aims to analyze the productivity value of workers between certified trained workers (TS) and untrained noncertified workers (BTBS) in the field. Furthermore, comparisons were also conducted on productivity based on field survey and Indonesian National Standard (SNI). This paper also analyzed the significant factors that affect workers productivity in the field. This productivity appraisal used field observation methods and questionnaire. From the results of the study, it was concluded that the training and certification of the workforce greatly affected the worker’s productivity; but some of workers’ productivity of trained workers (TS) and untrained noncertified (BTBS) met the standards of SNI, some did not. This was due to the influence of other factors beyond training and certification of the productivity value of handyman. Furthermore, based on t test results, the factors that significantly affect the productivity of workers were the skills of labor (X1), work motivation (X2) and management (X4). Thus the available regression equation was Y =0,024 +0,332 X1 + 0,676X2 -  0,039X4 + e.

Abstract

Buildings contribute more than 40% of world energy consumption, so it is feared that it will cause energy problems in the future, especially in the construction sector. One solution to reducing this problem is by analyzing energy use at the initial design stage and utilizing solar energy as one of the solar power plants (PLTS) in office buildings. To analyze the use of energy in buildings, Building Information Modeling (BIM) was used. The purpose of this research is to analyze the annual energy level of office buildings in Palembang using BIM software, namely Autodesk Revit. The number of solar panels as well as the amount of energy were also identified using web-based software (HelioScope) resulting the economic feasibility as indicated by the installation of solar panels as a component of PV mini-grid. The results showed that the use of BIM technology in analyzing building energy can provide a detailed description of the building model at the design stage. Revit analysis indicates that the building consumed electrical energy per year for about 3,647,713 kWh with a roof area of 1,657 m2. In addition, based on the HelioScope analysis, the use of renewable energy from the installation of PLTS was 152,900 kWh/year. Meanwhile, for economic feasibility analysis, the installation of PLTS in office buildings can provide a positive Net Present Value (NPV), indicating a feasible project.

Abstract

Green building practice has been gaining its popularity nowadays due to its significant benefits in protecting environment from threat caused by construction activities. It appears that there is a poor perception among construction players about green building in Indonesia. The students also play an important role in the development of construction especially green building in the future. This study aims to analyze the students’ perceptions of civil engineering and architecture students of University of Sriwijaya towards green building practices. The questionnaires were used for data collection which covered the basic understandings, criteria, benefits, and challenges of green building. There were about 240 respondents consisting of 153 from civil engineering and 87 respondents from architecture. The validity and reliability tests were conducted. The results showed that there is a positive impact on the perceptions among students towards green building adoption. Based on the analysis, the major benefit perceived by students was to reduce construction waste with a mean value of 4.67. Therefore, the reduction of construction waste will minimize the environmental damage and conserve natural resources. It was also found that the lack of knowledge from project team members about green building became the most significant challenge towards green building practices based on students’ perception. This study could offer valuable information related to benefits and challenges towards green building implementation among university students so that university could improve teaching materials and methods by applying the current issues in the construction sector.

Abstract

The use of BIM within construction industry is experiencing development. However, the development of BIM in Indonesia is still very limited. One of the inhibiting factors in the development of BIM is the inadequate availability of BIM specialists and professionals in the construction industry so that an active role of students is needed as the main target in meeting the needs of the construction industry in Indonesia. This research was conducted to analyze the perceptions of students of the Sriwijaya University in the civil engineering and architecture study programs regarding perceptions of knowledge, benefits, adoption, and development of BIM. This study used a quantitative approach. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. It was stated that ‘BIM technology and concepts are important for students to learn’ was to be the highest rank with an average score of 4.70 for Civil Engineering and 4.56 for architecture students. The result shows that the benefits of BIM that influence the most in the construction industry are to improve the quality of construction and enhance design visualization. The most significant driving factor on the development and adoption of BIM is education and training on using BIM software. In addition, the most significant inhibiting factors that influence the development and adoption of BIM are lack of education or training on the use of BIM and lack of knowledge on how to implement BIM software.

Abstract

[ID] Sampah merupakan sisa kegiatan manusia yang harus dikelola dengan baik agar tidak menimbulkan permasalahan bagi kehidupan manusia atau lingkungan. Pengelolaan sampah yang tidak berbasisi 3R, minimnya armada angkutan, serta banyak terdapat tempat pembuangan sampah ilegal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja serta mengoptimalisasi kinerja pengelolaan sampah di Kecamatan Indralaya, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Jumlah penduduk di Kecamatan Indralaya mencapai 20.913 jiwa pada tahun 2022. Pengukuran pengelolaan sampah meliputi aspek operasional, kelembagaan, pembiayaan, regulasi, dan partisipasi masyarakat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kinerja pengelolaan sampah kepada total 100 responden di Kecamatan Indralaya, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Kuesioner terdiri dari 5 kategori variabel dan 18 item subvariabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja pengelolaan sampah dipengaruhi oleh peralatan pengangkutan dan pengolahan sampah. Keterbatasan ini sangat berpengaruh sehingga perlunya memperbanyak jumlah armada serta waktu ritasi pengangkutan dilaksakanan tidak pada jam padat kendaraan seperti pagi hari dan di sore hari. Kinerja pengelolaan sampah di Kecamatan Indralaya, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, diperlukan strategi pengumpulan sampah berbasis 3R (Reuse Reduce Recycle) agar sampah yang ada bisa dioptimalkan dengan baik, untuk menciptakan kondisi yang strategis dan efisien. [EN] Waste is the remaining part of human activities that must be managed properly to avoid problems for human life or the environment. Waste management is not based on 3R, there is a lack of transportation fleet, and there are many illegal waste dumps. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence performance and optimize waste management performance in Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The population in the Indralaya Sub-district reached 20,913 people in 2022. Waste management measurement includes operational, institutional, financing, regulatory, and community participation aspects. Data were collected by distributing waste management performance questionnaires to a total of 100 respondents in the Ogan Ilir District. The questionnaire consisted of 5 categories of variables and 18 sub-variable items. The results of the study showed that waste management performance was influenced by waste transportation and processing equipment. This limitation is very influential so that it is necessary to increase the number of fleets and carry out transportation routine times not during busy vehicle hours such as in the morning and in the afternoon. The performance of waste management in Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, requires a 3R (Reuse Reduce Recycle) based waste collection strategy so that existing waste can be optimized properly, to create strategic and efficient conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the P?r Le Maker application on student learning outcomes in listening to news text material in class XI. This study uses a pre-experimental design method, one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used by the researcher is purposive sampling. The number of samples used is 30 students. Data collection techniques using interviews, tests, documentation, Data analysis techniques for this study: validity test, reliability test, normality test and paired sample t-test. The research instrument is an essay test of 20 questions. Based on the results of the study and data analysis, the ability to listen to news texts of students in class XI before using the puzzle maker media or pretest has an average of 67.86 Then after using the puzzle maker media or posttest there is an increase with an average of 83.23 Based on the paired sample test 1 test shows a sig value level (2-tailed) of 0.000 0.05 with the results of the hypothesis Ho rejected and Ha, accepted. The conclusion of this study is that the use of the puzzle maker application has a positive influence on student learning outcomes in listening to news text material. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for teachers and curriculum developers in integrating interactive and interesting learning technology in the learning process.

Abstract

Untuk menjaga keselamatan dan kesehaan kerja (K3) selama beraktivitas di dalam laboratorium penting untuk dilakukan K3 laboratorium yang jelas dan komprehensif. Tindakan keselamatan kerja ini harus disertai dengan cara kerja yang baik dan harus dipatuhi oleh seluruh teknisi laboratorium. Tahapan bekerja di laboratorium dimulai dengan memahami peraturan kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja, kepatuhan terhadap peraturan berpakaian, langkah-langkah penanganan bahan kimia dan peralatan laboratorium secara aman, dan pembuangan limbah yang tepat. Saat ini mayoritas laboratorium yang ada di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Sriwijaya belum sepenuhnya menerapkan K3. Hal ini terbukti masih kurangnya fasilitas, peralatan dan rambu-rambu K3 yang ada di lingkungan sekitar. Terlebih lagi tenaga laboran yang meliputi kepala laboratorium, asisten lab serta teknisi laboratorium belum pernah mendapatkan pelatihan terkait K3 maupun sertifikasi K3. Oleh karena itu dipandang perlu untuk melakukan pendampingan dan bimbingan teknis terkait penerapan K3 di laboratorium dan lingkungan Fakultas Teknik Unsri.

Abstract

The Pongok Bemban-Payak Ramai Irrigation Area, with a potential area of approximately 13 ha, is a rice field area located in Pongok Village, Pongok Islands District, South Bangka Regency. The geographical location of Pongok Village, which is the outermost region of the Regency, makes the community highly vulnerable to difficulties in obtaining food due to uncertain weather and sea conditions. Currently, farmers can only plant rice once a year, during the rainy season. Additionally, several hectares of land are affected by sea tides that enter the rice fields. This issue is exacerbated by the simple irrigation network, lack of reservoirs, and proximity to the sea, which causes water to be wasted during the rainy season. Limited water sources and land are the main challenges for farmers and local governments, making the intensification of agricultural land and its irrigation network a top priority to increase the cropping index and land productivity. This study proposes an alternative solution, which is the construction of a weir equipped with a spillway and drain door to maximize existing water sources. The operation of weirs and sluice gates plays a crucial role in efforts to increase the cropping index and land productivity. The results of the intensification of the irrigation network establish a water balance with a planting pattern of 100% rice - 100% rice - 30% rice (IP 230), with the beginning of planting in November period I and a total harvest area of approximately 30 ha. A weir reservoir with a length of 500 m, width of 15 m, and depth of 2.5 m is designed to accommodate the third planting period (MT) in the dry season. Abstract

This study aims to analyze a variety of learning problems in the network (online) both in terms of learning methods, learning media, and learning evaluation. This research was conducted in early childhood at RA Rahmat Islamiyah. This research uses qualitative research methods, based on case studies. The results of the study show that the problems of online learning in terms of learning methods include varied learning methods, limited by time, cannot be observed directly by the teacher, have a tendency to assignment, limit student development achievements, are limited by network constraints. Problems of online learning in terms of learning media, including learning media cannot be varied, have a tendency to audio-visual, often do not make students interactive, vulnerable to high costs, vulnerable to network disturbances. The problems of online learning in terms of learning evaluation include online learning evaluations that cannot assess all aspects, and are vulnerable to fraud
