Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the effectiveness of the use of the acrostic technique in teaching poetry writing at MTS Labor UIN STS Jambi. Issues in poetry writing at MTS Labor UIN STS Jambi can still be found, one of which is that students are not interested in writing poetry because it is difficult to determine the next word in writing poetry. The acrostic technique is a technique that makes it easier to write poetry. The method used was a quantitative type of quasi-experiment design with a one group pretest-posttest setting. Data analysis techniques used inferential statistics in the form of a t-test, preceded by a Homogeneity Test and a Normality Test. The results of the research showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results of students' poetry writing, where the significance value of the t-test obtained was 0.00, which was less than 0.05. This proves that the acrostic technique is effective in teaching poetry writing. Student difficulties in composing poetry can be overcome by using the acrostic technique. This research is limited by a short time. So it is hoped that future research can cnduct research with a longer time and combined with other learning models or approaches.Keywords: Effectiveness, Acrostic technique, poetry

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan media video klip dalam pembelajaran maenulis teks narasi di kelas VII MTs Muhammadiyah Kota Jambi. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat dua jenis data, yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan  observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode triangulasi sumber data. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan tiga tahapan yaitu, 1) reduksi data, 2) penyajian data, dan 3) penarikan kesimpulan. Prosedur dalam penelitian ini juga melalui tiga tahapan yaitu, 1) tahap persiapan, 2) tahap pelaksanaan, dan 3) tahap penyelesaian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan media video klip sangat membatu dalam pengkondisian pembelajaran yang lebih baik. Juga terlihat siswa lebih fokus belajar dan perhatian siswa lebih terpusat. Media video klip mempermudah siswa dalam menulis teks narasi. Siswa lebih mudah dalam menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan oleh guru. Dengan adanya media video klip siswa tidak merasa bosan dalam belajar. Kata Kunci: media video klip, menulis, teks narasi

Abstract

Reading comprehension is one of the important activities to gain knowledge, information, or to get entertainment. The research aims to produce teaching materials for reading comprehension skills that are valid, practical, and effective. This type of research is development research with the Plomp development model developed by Tjeerd Plomp, 2010. The research subjects were 48 fifth semester students. The results showed that reading comprehension teaching materials used the big question strategy for Indonesian language and literature education students with valid, practical, and effective categories with a percentage of 90%. It is concluded that the use of teaching materials for reading comprehension skills using the big question strategy is feasible to use.
