Abstract

Religion and nationality have a central role in shaping the identity and character of a nation. In Indonesia, which is a country with ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity, understanding religious moderation and national values is the main foundation for social harmony and state sustainability. Mosques, as religious institutions and centers of community activities, have great potential to strengthen the understanding of religious moderation and national values in the younger generation. This article aims to describe the community service program carried out for teenagers at the Al-Ma'had mosque in Cirebon Regency. In this community service, participatory action research (PAR) methodology is used as a strategy to achieve the goals of service. This method is a form of knowledge production instrument that involves active participation from the community in every stage of service, from planning, and implementation, to evaluation. The service results explain that this program creates higher awareness among teenage students about their role in building a more harmonious and peaceful society and contributes to the formation of a generation that is more tolerant, harmonious, and loves the country.

Abstract

Peneltian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan konsep pluralisme agama yang dikemukakan oleh John Hick dan relevansinya dalam membangun kerukunan beragama di era pluralisme. Dalam konsepnya, Hick menekankan pentingnya menghargai perbedaan agama dan memandang bahwa semua agama memiliki kebenaran yang sama-sama Penelitian ini merupakan jenis kajian pustaka dengan menggunakan pendekatan filosofis yang bertujuan untuk mengkaji ide dan gagasan tokoh John Hick dalam membangun kerukunan beragama di era pluralisme. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep pluralisme agama Hick dapat menjadi landasan dalam membangun kerukunan beragama melalui tindakan konkret seperti dialog antaragama, pengembangan kesadaran bahwa agama bukan satu-satunya jalan menuju kebenaran, dan pengakuan terhadap hak asasi manusia yang universal. Selain itu, pluralisme agama juga merupakan realitas sosial yang harus diakui dan dikelola dengan baik untuk menciptakan masyarakat yang harmonis dan toleran. Oleh karena itu, pembangunan kerukunan beragama di era pluralisme memerlukan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang pluralisme agama dan upaya konkret untuk menerapkan konsep tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

In essence, religion is a form of human expression concerning spiritual experience and the relationship with the Divine. In this regard, religion can be a source of strength and inspiration for individuals and communities to live a meaningful life. However, in the context of rapid globalization and modernization, conflicts and tensions often arise between different religious groups. In the context of religious moderation, the idea of perennial philosophy is used to understand religious pluralism. This research aims to explicate the ideas of Seyyed Hossein Nasr's perennial philosophy towards the plural religious reality and to use his thoughts in building an understanding of religious moderation. This research uses a literature review method with a philosophical approach that aims to understand the thoughts or theories of a figure. The results of this study explain the importance of understanding universal religious values in building harmony in practicing religion and establishing inter-religious dialogues to reduce conflict and promote peace among different religious followers. Thus, the construction of religious moderation from the perspective of Seyyed Hossein Nasr's philosophy can bring peace and harmony to a society that is becoming increasingly pluralistic and complex. Nasr also emphasizes the importance of maintaining fundamental spiritual and moral values in religions as an effort to avoid fundamentalism and extremism.
