Abstract

Program ini didasarkan atas hasil sebuah penelitian yang berjudul “Studi Pengaruh Pembelajaran Kuliah Nilai Hidup Paramadina (NHP) terhadap Karakter dan Perilaku Mahasiswa”. Penelitian ini didorong oleh keprihatinan terhadap meningkatnya intoleransi dan radikalisme serta ketegangan kontraproduktif antara paham keislaman dan kebangsaan di kalangan anak muda dan mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan analisis statistic deskriptif. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dirancang dengan mengadakan training dan workshop terhadap sejumlah guru agama yang peran mereka sangat strategis dan penting dalam pembentukan pemahaman dan sikap keberagamaan yang moderat. Workshop ini diikuti oleh 26 guru dari Jakarta, Tangerang dan Serang selama 3 hari. Testimoni dan saran dari peserta menggambarkan program ini cukup berhasil menginspirasi mereka untuk lebih mendalami nilai keislaman-keindonesiaan. Diseminasi gagasan moderasi beragama ini dilakukan, diantaranya, melalui pelatihan dan pengembangan nilai-nilai keislaman yang satu tarikan napas dengan nilai-nilai kebangsaan (keindonesiaan). Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 156 mahasiswa yang mengikuti kuliah NHP. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang kuat dan pengaruh yang signifikan antara pembelajaran kuliah NHP dengan persepsi dan sikap mahasiswa terhadap nilai keislaman dan keindonesiaan.

Abstract

Fenomena ekstremisme kekerasan dan masalah-masalah sosial yang semakin meningkat meniscayakan perlunya pendekatan pendidikan yang bukan sekadar menekankan dimensi pengajaran semata, tetapi juga pada dimensi kemanusiaan. Salah satu pendekatan yang digunakan dalam pendidikan karakter adalah Living Values Education (LVE). Pendekatan LVE tidak hanya bertujuan untuk mengajarkan nilai (values), melainkan menggali dan menghidupkan nilai-nilai atau karakter murid dalam kehidupan. LVE menekankan pentingnya menggali nilai-nilai positif untuk membantu anak dalam menghadapi tantangan di kemudian hari, sehingga selain sebagai proses penyadaran yang berperan besar dalam melakukan transformasi sosial, LVE juga merupakan strategi maupun pendekatan baru dalam pendidikan. Kajian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Pendidikan Islam dan Living Values Education, strategi pendekatan Living Values Education sebagai penguatan pendidikan karakter dalam Pencegahan Ekstremisme Kekerasan, serta relevansi Living Values Education bagi sistem pendidikan di Indonesia.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap peranan dan konsistensi Pesantren Tarekat terhadap pengembangan tradisi intelektual Islam dan moderasi beragama di Indonesia. Penelitian ini sekaligus menjawab dua problem besar umat Islam yang saat ini terjadi yakni surutnya tradisi intelektual dan mengikisnya kesadaran moderasi beragama, di mana dua hal tersebut telah lama terbangun. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis Teori Manajemen Teror dengan studi kasus Pesantren Tarekat bernama Roudhoh Al-Hikam, yang berlokasi di Cibinong, Kabupaten Bogor. Penelitian ini mengambil dua sumber data, yaitu data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi lapangan dan wawancara, dan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari buku dan jurnal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama, Pesantren Tarekat konsisten menghidupkan tradisi intelektual Islam khas Indonesia yakni melaksanakan dan mengembangkan kurikulum pendidikan Islam berbasis mazhab Syafi’i dan berteologi Asy’ari-Maturidi, yang bersumber dari kitab kuning. Kedua, kyai atau mursyid berperan besar terhadap keberhasilan pendidikan di pesantren sekaligus membangun sikap moderasi beragama. Ketiga, Pesantren Tarekat berperan atas munculnya pesantren atau lembaga pendidikan baru yang didirikan dan dikembangkan oleh para alumninya. Keempat, Pesantren Tarekat berperan dalam wacana moderasi beragama karena konsisten mengajarkan nilai-nilai etika Islam yang menjaga dan membentengi para santri dari pemahaman agama yang menyimpang. AbstractThis research aims to uncover the role and consistency of the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School in the development of Islamic intellectual tradition and religious moderation in Indonesia. This research simultaneously answers two major problems faced by the Muslim community today, namely the decline of intellectual tradition and the erosion of awareness of religious moderation, both of which have long been established. This research utilizes Terror Management Theory analysis with a case study of the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School, named Roudhoh Al-Hikam, located in Cibinong, Bogor Regency. The study collects data from two sources, namely primary data obtained from field observations and interviews and secondary data obtained from books and journals. The results of the study show that, firstly, the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School consistently promotes the distinctive Islamic intellectual tradition in Indonesia, namely by implementing and developing an Islamic education curriculum based on the Shafi'i school of thought and Asy'ari-Maturidi theology, sourced from the yellow book. Secondly, the kyai or mursyid plays a significant role in the success of education in Islamic Boarding School while also cultivating a mindset of religious moderation. Thirdly, the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School contributes to the emergence of new Islamic Boarding School, or educational institutions, established and developed by its alumni. Fourthly, the Tarekat Islamic Boarding School plays a role in the discourse of religious moderation by consistently teaching Islamic ethical values that safeguard and protect students from deviant religious understandings.

Abstract

Religious harmony in Indonesia is a complex phenomenon that involves understanding and religious experiences from various traditions and beliefs. In the thought of Joachim Wach, religious experiences play a crucial role in shaping individual religious identity and providing a foundation for beliefs and religious practices. This research aims to analyze Joachim Wach’s thoughts on religious experiences and their relevance to religious harmony in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach, analyzing primary sources from Joachim Wach’s works and related research. The findings of this research indicate that Joachim Wach’s ideas have contributed to understanding and strengthening religious harmony in Indonesia. In his thinking, Wach identifies three forms of religious experience: through thought, action, and fellowship. Additionally, Wach develops the concept of the “sacred canopy,” which refers to how religion can serve as a framework or framework that provides meaning and significance in human life. Through the concept of “sacred canopy” and understanding of tolerance, society can better understand other religions and strengthen the positive values of each religion. Kerukunan beragama di Indonesia merupakan fenomena kompleks yang melibatkan pemahaman dan pengalaman keagamaan dari berbagai tradisi dan keyakinan. Dalam pemikiran Joachim Wach, pengalaman keagamaan memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk identitas keagamaan individu dan memberikan landasan bagi keyakinan dan praktik agama yang dijalankan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemikiran Joachim Wach tentang pengalaman keagamaan dan relevansinya dengan kerukunan beragama di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menganalisis sumber-sumber primer dari karya-karya Joachim Wach dan penelitian terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemikiran Joachim Wach telah memberikan kontribusi dalam memahami dan memperkuat kerukunan beragama di Indonesia. Dalam pemikirannya, Wach mengidentifikasi tiga bentuk ekspresi pengalaman keagamaan, yaitu dalam bentuk pemikiran, perbuatan, dan persekutuan. Selain itu, Wach mengembangkan konsep “sacred canopy” yaitu konsep tentang bagaimana agama dapat menjadi sebuah kerangka atau bingkai yang memberikan arti dan makna dalam hidup manusia. Melalui konsep “sacred canopy” dan pemahaman tentang toleransi, masyarakat dapat memahami agama lain dengan lebih baik dan memperkuat nilai-nilai yang positif dari setiap agama.

Abstract

Social justice is a form of aspiration within a country or religion. Achieving social justice is not an easy task and is often difficult to attain. In reality, the current state of society is perceived as not having achieved equitable justice, especially in economic, educational, employment, and other aspects. Nurcholish Madjid, as a religious and national thinker, is concerned with issues of life, including religion, nationalism, and social justice. It is therefore necessary to understand Nurcholish Madjid's thoughts on social justice in Indonesian society and what needs to be done to achieve a just life. The research method is conducted by collecting data related to the discussion taken from journals or articles related to social justice. The research found that the lives of people, especially in Indonesia, have not been evenly distributed in terms of economy, education, and employment. Therefore, there is a need for cooperation between society and the state to achieve a just life in nation-building. Fundamentally, the state plays a crucial role in ensuring social justice for its people. Social justice means the absence of differences or discrimination in living. Nurcholish Madjid also states that the role of youth is crucial in making changes in the present and future. Any form of discrimination, coercion, and others can disrupt the principles of community life. As religious communities, we should not only focus on worship but also on the social aspects of religion because every religion teaches goodness. Discrimination and other forms of differences will only divide society and make it increasingly difficult to achieve social justice.

Abstract

Nurcholish Madjid, who is usually called Cak Nur, is an Indonesia Islamic thinker, scholar and cultural figure. Cak Nur often expresses various ideas and views on many things, especially the idea of islamic reform in Indonesia. Women and Feminism are oftem discussed from various perspectives, including the Islamic perspective. Women and Feminism are also not lost on Cak Nur, even though Cak Nur does not explain it specifically in the works he has written. This research is aimed at exploring Cak Nur’s thoughts regarding women and feminism specifically and from an Islamic perspective. This research uses a qualitative approach by analizing reliable sources from Cak Nur’s thoughts and work as well as from related research sources. As a result of this research, Cak Nur views that all humans are the same, both men and women, equally serve God and have the same rights and obligations. This understanding is the same as the Islamic perspective, that God never differentiates between His servants, even women and men are not differentiated in the Qur’an.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a majority of its population practicing Islam, but it does not claim itself as an Islamic state. The presence of Pancasila as a melting pot has led to the emergence of a highly elegant Civil Society in this nation. Islam and Pancasila, in principle, are aligned and harmonious within the context of Indonesian democracy. The purpose of this research focuses on the harmonization of Islam and Pancasila in the study of religious moderation in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach through a literature review and field studies involving observations and documentation. The research findings explain that religion and Pancasila are in alignment, with religion serving as a way of life for its followers, while Pancasila represents the way of life for the religiously diverse Indonesian nation. In the literature on religious moderation in Indonesia, religion must provide enlightenment to its adherents so that they can accept and appreciate the noble values of Pancasila. Conversely, the existence of Pancasila must also protect all religious communities, including those who do not adhere to any religion or hold different beliefs. This is why the actualization of religious moderation in society has become a distinctive characteristic of Indonesia, both socially and religiously.

Abstract

This research examines the profound epistemological critique and semiotic analysis of Islamic thought by Mohammed Arkoun, focusing on his challenge to traditional paradigms within Islamic scholarship. Arkoun argues that Islamic reason has historically been confined by dogmatic interpretations, which has limited its evolution in the context of modern challenges. Employing a historical-critical methodology and a semiotic approach, Arkoun seeks to uncover layers of meaning that have been obscured by traditionalist readings and to demonstrate the need for a more critical and dynamic interpretation of Islamic texts. Arkoun’s critique explores the historical, linguistic, and cultural contexts that shape Islamic thought, advocating for an approach that acknowledges the influence of these factors on religious interpretation. His analysis reveals how Islamic thought, if unchallenged and unchanged, risks stagnation in a rapidly evolving world. Through a detailed examination of Quranic discourse and the application of modern critical theories, Arkoun proposes a deconstruction of the 'thinkable' and challenges the 'unthinkable' within Islamic thought. This study emphasizes the importance of revisiting the epistemological foundations of Islamic knowledge to foster a more inclusive, reflective, and adaptive intellectual tradition. Arkoun's work provides valuable insights into the potential for Islamic thought to engage more profoundly with contemporary issues, urging a reform that embraces critical inquiry and the exploration of diverse interpretative possibilities.

Abstract

Energi dan air merupakan sumber daya vital yang perlu dikelola secara bijaksana untuk mendukung ekonomi berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran siswa kelas 5 SDN Pondok Labu 03 tentang pentingnya penghematan energi dan air melalui edukasi interaktif yang mengintegrasikan mata kuliah Bela Negara, Kewarganegaraan, dan Agama. Melalui metode presentasi, diskusi, dan proyek menempelkan gambar, siswa diajak memahami konsep hemat energi dan air yang relevan dengan nilai-nilai cinta tanah air dan tanggung jawab lingkungan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa mengenai konservasi energi dan air, sejalan dengan poin 8 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), yaitu Pekerjaan Layak dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dalam bidang pendidikan lingkungan, serta memberikan contoh konkret peran pendidikan dasar dalam pelestarian sumber daya alam.

Abstract

The process of seeking meaning within oneself is a deep and often complex journey involving various psychological, emotional, and philosophical aspects. This includes when an individual interprets themselves as a volunteer. This study explores the experiences and life meanings of social volunteers in Bali through the lens of Jean-Paul Sartre's existentialism. The data for this research was collected through in-depth interviews with three informants, selected using snowball sampling techniques. The interview results were then analyzed using Sartre's existentialist perspective. The findings, related to the principle that "existence precedes essence," suggest that volunteers in this study are able to find meaning in themselves through the experiences they gain while existing as volunteers. Regarding the experience of etre en soi (being-in-itself), volunteers have the capacity to manipulate various facts to preserve their existence. The form of manipulation observed is through neglect that occurs when volunteers experience discrediting by their surrounding social environment. The experience of etre en soi faced by volunteers does not lead them to feel they are in a state of 'bad faith' (mauvaise foi). Volunteers in this study can be considered existentialists, possessing a dimension of authenticity within themselves. These volunteers do not perceive their engagement in social activities as a form of coercion but rather as a willingness to fulfill their instinct for freedom.
